At the End of the Rainbow

18/01/2016
At the end of the rainbow

I stand in my garden looking to the sky,
The beauty of it, it just catches my eye,

Across the sky and behind the trees,
Stretching across the rivers and seas,

Down the valley, across the mountains
Streaming down like water from fountains,

I follow the path to the end where I’ll see,
Whatever the rainbow has in store for me,

I crawl to the finish I’m finally there,
But all I can see is a book and a chair,

The book tells a story, of adventure and trust,
And then when the story ends just turns to dust,

The story was mine and it was long and rough,
But the moral of the story was that life can be tough,

You just roll with the punches,
And live life by hunches,

Life is a journey like that in the book,
You learn so much like to dance and to cook,

So by the end of your days have learnt all you can,
And don’t live your life like a stage by stage plan,

Live your life one step at a time,
And I guarantee you’ll have a good time.

My Struggle

I'm thinking of it, it's stuck in my head,
Would anyone miss me if I was dead?
My family is distant, my friends are so few,
I wonder would it hurt to do?
My life is so painful, it hurts to go through,
Is it all worth it? What should I do?

Tomorrow is school, another day of torture,
Best get yourself ready for the insults towards ye,
The pain of the words or the pain of the knife,
Would it all stop if I just took my own life?

The insults they hurt but next came the fighting,
Everyone else thought it would be exciting,
Everyone's talking about this fight,
All of a sudden I'm in the lime light.

The next day I wandered into the school,
Thinking that yesterday would make me cool,
But instead I was picked on, why was I a fool?

The bullying continued and I just had enough,
No one has the right to treat me so rough,
Why do I deserve this? What have I done?
Don't I deserve to be normal and have fun?

Dressed In Chains

Dressed in Chains - The fear of war and the fear of oppression, after all of the violence we need to learn our lesson, we’re standing our ground and protecting our home, protecting the place where our families roam, the war drums sound, their hearts they pound, as the enemy draws near the fear sets the soldiers they release all there regrets, they slowly march one by one, the sound of war has just begun.

Fighting For Freedom

Fighting the war men give their lives,
Grieving children an morning wives,
They worry at home while the men go to fight,
Then cower in shelters throughout the night,
The leaders of countries, who fight from the back,
Who take away the men and make women take the slack,

The Jewish are hunted, they're branded them with stars,
They punch and they kick and leave them with scars,

Wrecking homes, people hide, soldiers laugh, children cried,
Sent to camps where they died, then soldiers laughed but no one cried

Walking in lines directed by guns,
Parted from fathers from mothers are sons,
All put in groups the strong and the weak,
And sent off to futures that look so bleak,
Sent on the trains down to their dooms,

To the concentration camps the go,
Line by line and row by row,
The women and children killed on the way,
Fathers and sons, forces to be slaves every day.

Storming the camps filled like a prison,
Finding the people like rats in a cage,
Some who are young some crumbling with age,
The old and the young all lying so still,
Nobody moving, there was just no will,
Some came to stand to thank there new saviours,
The look on their faces came through in stages,
The soldiers broke down, they started to cry,
The joy filled their faces and they looked to the sky,
The prisoners’ safe, to now live their lives,
To try to find family, there children and wives.

The war is all over but will forever be remembered,
The people we lost whose lives were all ended,
Can forever be found on the wall of the remembered,
Forever in our hearts forever on our minds as they gave their lives,
In rows and in lines,

Her Story

I'm talking to her, she's talking to me,
What came next just puzzled me,
She starts calling me names in front of her friends,
And slowly my happiness fades and just ends,

I think to myself, why was she so cruel?
Was it so others would think she was cool?
Does she realise I'm hurting inside?
Did she realise I went home and cried?

My mum heard me crying and asked what was wrong,
But I couldn't tell her you called me a mong,
I couldn't open up so I closed off completely,
Because of the way these girls would mistreat me.

Sat here on my own, alone in my bedroom,
Wondering why they tease me,
The pain that they cause it hurts me inside,
And no one is here to stand by my side,
I need someone here somebody who cares,
Somebody to talk to, to drown out the stares.

I looked at my phone I had a missed call,
Maybe there is someone after all,
My friends and family are clear to see,
There not the people who have hurt me,
They stand by my side and help through it all,
Maybe it's time to stand proud and stand tall,
I'm different but that's not a problem at all.

Here I Am, This Is Me

Here I am, This is me, who I am is who you see, my life is mine though shared with many, to people in need I would give my last penny, I need for little, I ask for less, but no one I try to impress, people around me want to be, and if they don't then they won't be, I love so easy and feel such loss, I do not try to make people cross, it always just happens, I always do wrong, trying to find out where I belong.

Here I am, this is me, don't pretend to be like me, I am me and you are you, so let people discover the real you, people who care take time to let you know, and if they don't like it then they can just go.

Day by day and night by night, people will surround you, people old and people new, people who want to get to know you, our place in life is to find our people the ones who really care, so don't just settle for anyone find the ones who care, somewhere they are there.

We walk alone until we find ourselves in the people who we love and the ones who love us back.

Out There

Standing there so naked and free,
Standing there out in the sea,
Starring out to the beautiful red sky,
The vibrant colours so pleasing to the eye,
The sea gulls calling as the mornings greet,
As the waves crash down around there feet,
The iron men stand so tall and so strong,
On the sandy shores where they belong,
You see them in the distance down in the sea,
Out in the water so naked and free.

The beauty of the sky and the feel of the sand,
Walking slowly hand in hand,
The calming sounds of the ocean tides,
Coming down right by our sides,
It gives a sense of a deep relaxation,
Getting rid of all frustration,
It's a good place to think to set your mind free,
To be whatever you want and who you want to be.

Our Streets

I wander through these empty streets,
It's full of guns and gangs and cheats,
They stand around like they own the place,
But alls they are is a disgrace.

People live in fear of their streets,
Because of these unlawful cheats,
How do we expect to change,
When we let these people rule the stage,
Standing there all big and proud,
That they stand above the crowd.

Standing there in their 110 shoes,
Talking about guns and sex and booze,
Thinking there big when really their small,
Standing out from no one at all.

I remember the days when kids played outside,
Not having to worry, not having to hide,
When our streets where safe havens for families and friends,
Instead of the place where some peoples storys just end

Can We Dance

Hello there I don't mean to stare
But you look so beautiful over there
I had to come over just to ask
Would you dance with a guy in a mask.

You seem down, you seem blue
So may I have a dance with you?
You can tell m your story
Tell me what there is to see
But only if you dance with me.

We will dance to the music
Let it set the pace
We will talk about our lives
And how we ended up in this place
Standing there so down and so blue
Dressed as a knight I'm here to rescue you.

Life Happens

Running in circles, around and around,
Moving in the crowds without even a sound,
People drift through life without leaving a trace,
They wander through crowds, just another face.

We start off in school learning our way,
Wondering what will happen today,
Crowds of kid’s just wandering round,
Thinking about the emotions they’ve found.

Next comes the first job, meeting new friends,
Will this go well? Well that all depends,
What career will you follow? Where will it lead?
Since it’s so long before you’ll be freed.

Throughout your life you’ll love and you’ll lose,
You’ll have highs and you’ll have blues,
Maybe you’ll find the love of your life,
Then maybe they’ll become your husband or wife.

Grow old and have kids just like you should,
Then maybe you’ll live life like everyone should,
Settling down with a family of your own,
With a big beautiful house to call own.

Live life to the fullest and don’t leave anything regret,
Because we only get one life don’t you forget?
Don’t leave things to chance go out and grab it,
So that you get that little chance to have it.

Live life, Love life, because life’s a choice that some don’t get.
