Reflection

Walking around the house
listening to my breathing in the quiet
wondering when it all changed
was it there all along or did it just change over time
feeling alone and confused
knowing it is all wrong and it can't be right again
heart hurts when does the pain go away
or does it just linger like an old ache
pictures surround me
kids laughing memories abound
a decade and more depicted in pictures
yet the true story remains unspoken
clinging to the happier memories
hearing the laughter in my head
knowing I can't fix it anymore
wondering when I stopped trying
Feeling like an outsider watching my life
continue day by day
hour by hour
clock ticking at 3 am and wide awake
listening to your snore and talk
dreams chase you in sleep
hopefully we can meet in the middle and find some peace.....

Lost

You left your ghosts behind
Things that you failed to say and fix
You forgot to leave instructions
What am I do to with this mess
The crying, the grief
Holes in the walls left by your children
As they slam through their day
Looking for direction
Seems as though I have lost my GPS
I wake up every day wishing peace would arrive
And we can all move on without your emptiness
Haunting us
I have no answers anymore
I have stopped asking why, now I only ask how
If I had the energy, I would hate you
Now all I feel is loss and sadness
Tripping over the pieces of broken hearts that are littered
All over the place
There are no instructions on how to fix this
I wade my way through all your mess
Finding little piece of me
That was once was……
