Beautiful Creation

BEAUTIFUL CREATION

As I gaze on the horizon
From upon a mountain high
Or see an eagle chase the wind
Against the bright blue sky
To realize God’s creation
In everything I see
Sets my soul to soaring
My captive heart set free
To smell the scent of tall, green pines
And hear a bull elk call
To see the many colors bright
As summer turns to fall
To hear the call of winging geese
As they pass by in flight
To see the mountains turn blood red
As evening turns to night
The howl of a coyote
As it drifts across the plain
The smell of the desert sod
After a summer rain
What joy these wonders bring to pass
In all around we see
Father’s beautiful creation
He made for you and me

Far From the City Light

FAR FROM THE CITY LIGHT

As I gaze across a still, clear pond
Unruffled by the breeze
It never fails to calm my heart
And put my mind at ease
To see a muskrat swimming
Through the waters deep and still
Brings to mind a peaceful thought
And makes my heart to thrill
Then across the still, calm pond
A ripple can be seen
As a bright and silvery trout
Brings more beauty to the scene
This is where my heart will stay
Far from the city light
Where you can look up at the sky
And see the stars at night
To marvel at God’s creation
To see his omnipotent hand
To know that He is all around
In all of this great land

Chains of Death

CHAINS OF DEATH

For three days His body lay
Inside that borrowed tomb
His disciples cried with sadness
And felt the awful gloom
The Savior of the world
Had been killed by evil men
They did not understand His words
That He would rise again
Faithful women to the tomb
Came upon that glorious day
They found the grave was empty
His body gone away
Then two angels did appear
These words of hope then given
Why seek ye the living among the dead
He is not here, He is risen
What happiness, what joy was felt
As these words were spoken
Our Savior had overcome the grave
The chains of death were broken

Another Day

ANOTHER DAY

As the sun breaks over the mountain
And another day has begun
We bow our heads and offer thanks
For all that God has done
For another day in this mortal plane
To revel in earth’s grace
To marvel at the wondrous sights
Built by the human race
To behold the clear, blue sky
Without a cloud in sight
To ponder the endless universe
And the numberless stars at night
To stand in a wooded cathedral
In awe of the tall green trees
To sit upon a sandy beach
And ponder the restless seas
What more could anyone ask
Than these wonders all around
To see the beauty of the earth
Wherever it may be found
