Far From the City Light

FAR FROM THE CITY LIGHT As I gaze across a still, clear pond Unruffled by the breeze It never fails to calm my heart And put my mind at ease To see a muskrat swimming Through the waters deep and still Brings to mind a peaceful thought And makes my heart to thrill Then across the still, calm pond A ripple can be seen As a bright and silvery trout Brings more beauty to the scene This is where my heart will stay Far from the city light Where you can look up at the sky And see the stars at night To marvel at God’s creation To see his omnipotent hand To know that He is all around In all of this great land

G'day Vaughn... I enjoy nothing more than reading a well written nature poem that paints a picture, and your poem does exactly that - regards - Lindsay
