Tandav the Dance of Power

In the innermost corner of a dark alley, a light seeps through….
I dance, a shadow on a cracked wall
A dance of the freak,
A smile for her, for that one there
For this one sitting here
Body twisting, a perverse glee
For the audience to see
The performer me.

Somewhere on that wall
Is a shape…just one..
The other a shadow
Somewhere in that corner house
Is a body …just one
What is seen, a shadow
Somewhere in that room
Is a soul…just one.
What is felt, a shadow
Somewhere on that dampened sheet
Is a woman…just one
The shadow performs.

Somewhere across alleys, roads, meadows and waters
Is a sky…just one.
Naked, all embracing one.

And in the stars…
There I dance,
my Self on a vast expanse
A dance unknown
In a trance….
A smile…for no one to see
My body moving to a music within
A rhythm for my soul
I just dance for Thee.

Absent Night

Absent Night
storm-of-sadness

On an absent night
The stars don’t seem to care
They flicker in my mind like godforsaken candles.

I await your return
Dreading the waves of despair
Trying to melt my distressing thoughts with the
Blackness
Of time
But it is an absent night
And there is no darkness to spare

For moments held like a loosely tied string of pearls
This is frightening
In the dark I can light a torch
To find them lest they break
In nothingness they will be lost forever.

I want to erase you from myself
but I absorbed you without a trace
without a hint of knowingness
I can’t find even a faint line to erase
Your presence has been absorbed
within me
and is in me,
Like a nomad it roams
laughing at my attempts to isolate and purge.

Why you?

I carefully dress up my thoughts of you
Into air-dropped packets
To satiate my physical needs

And then a stray thought comes
and tips over my mind
and its carefully drawn conclusions.

My thoughts rage again, trying to hide
In blackness, in the dark…
But it is an absent night.

Ombre

Ombre
I miss you in the most strangest of ways…like a faraway song…

like lyrics of a folklore….

….an Indian tale around a fire ring

like a dark deep forest which I have always passed by, never lingering

I miss you like the sound of a waterfall

Like a dream that flitted through

Like a tear drop which got caught in my lashes

Like a smile that caught me unawares

I miss you like I never knew you

Like you are a stranger passing through my life.

And….

as the rain drops trickle down the windshield and become one,

as the snow flakes pass by the windowpanes and melt as they touch the earth,

as the wind untangles my tresses and veil my face….

as my mind holds back the heart and then…. lets it go….

as your thoughts dance around in my mind and become a dream as my eyes close

I miss you even more…..

like I never knew you,

like you are a stranger passing through my life

Adieu

Adieu
sadness_8_by_scarabuss

I have crossed that path

Where I walked with you
Happy in my journey

I have crossed the roads
Where your shadow stands
Reveling in my journey

I have crossed the corner
Where you stand alone
A stopover in my journey

I have bid adieu to my muse
As I close my space behind me
The journey remains
All etched in me
Like always, eternally.

Just For You 1

Just for You 1
Fluid moments, like waves
Trickle through my consciousness
Like streams of light.
As you stand in your own square
between the shadows, making your move
I see you, step in and out, and then out again.
I see you, I see them, I see myself
in those streams of light
exposed, like transparent pieces.
Waves of clarity crash on my knowing,
Fluid, dynamic, enlightening
Streams of lights, clearing the haze
Of my layered emotions.
I see you, step in and out, and then out again.

Fluid thoughts, like bubbles,
Rise through my emotions
Like pinpoints of light,
as I stand in my own circle,
in the light, absorbing your act.
I see myself, stepping in and then in again.
I see you, I see them, I see myself
in those points of light
exposed, like transparent pieces.
Waves of emotions caress my knowing,
Fluid, dynamic, enlightening
points of lights, sparkles of amusement
smiling lovingly at your attempts.
I see you, step in and out, and then out again.
