Darren Knight Poem
Early morning
rise to the icy window gleam
my head is a jackhammer
that is forcing me to scream
I stand in shorts
watching my breath rise to ceiling
there I stand on jelly stilts
no words describe my feeling
I down the stairs
and yawn myself fully awake
I am an autumnal leaf
brittle and cold, ready to break.

Darren Knight Poem
Soaring
down around
the ancient trees
Around
the rooftops
and catching breeze
Perched
below the
sinister sky
A
raucous choir
a last flyby

Darren Knight Poem
I stare at snow
on my skylight,
tiny rays of sun biting through gaps.
As winds gently carry birdsong
I smile at the beauty of it all

Darren Knight Poem
Barefoot and barely awake,
I'm yawning in the shower.
Church bells score
the chilling of my skin –
the grim gander of goosebumps
along porcelain arms.
House veins haemorrhage
baptising me with gore.
The murder encircles, closing in.
You're mad; you must be
I shattered one of your eyes.
I am the tempest's tail,
the tainted within your walls;
a trojan horse of egregious energy,
the eventual ghost in your belly.

Darren Knight Poem
Sparrows, Sparrows
brown and slight
flying flying
out of sight
Soaring, Soaring
through the clouds
flying flying
over crowds
Flapping, Flapping
beating wings
flying flying
over springs
Sparrows, Sparrows
brown and slight
flying flying
say good night
