Annaliese Dunn Poem
The air feels thick
And warm
The light is soft
And protective
I’m oh so small
And hidden between
Deep breathes of
Warm air and
A whisper
Or whispers
I can’t hear
I can’t listen
I can’t understand
So I wait for you
As the light fades
To a mist
In that mist I saw
You
But perhaps it’s this
Thick air
Flowing into my lungs
And heart
Loosening it till
I feel like
You could love me
But oh I feel so small
So very small
And I can’t hear
But I swear I’m trying.

Annaliese Dunn Poem
Oh how I'd wish you'd
look at me
But instead your eyes
dart about.
Well let your eyes rest
my dear,
leave them with me.
For next time we speak
I will hold your gaze
softly in my arms
till your eyes
turn to stars.
