Crying Eyes

Could a sadder face there be?

Oh Crying eyes,

melancholy.

Please, don't drip
those salty drops.

So many kisses I'd give to stop!

I am yours
you are mine
we will get threw in little time.

For what is life?
A little race?
We set the gaols
we make the pace.

So with me run.
We will get threw.

You help me, I'll help you

Sure and keen
eye's on the mark

Let's give this course
a little spark.

Slow to see a river glide
forest green, country side.

Drink in scent of hewy blooms,
pause to touch in cedar rooms

Give this chase a pinch of spice
A season spent to melt the ice,

that grips us when,
we do fear,
of wasted steps,
passing years.

Trade Warrior

So seamless an entity is he.
sleek before the crowd
bullet proof
tempered hard
steel
determination loud

Urban warrior
lean before the mass
tackle business
evenly
dodge before the crash

Suited armor
mohair gleam
woolen effigy
strained vessels
temples red
Imbibes with glee at noon

Not enough to win
the day
ore brethren in the clinch
they must lose
fall away
to rise another inch.

Feed the Dog

Some where in the distance
Dog barks in vain
Reminder to a master
slept past alarm again.

He put his head to pillow
long after sun had set
Drowning out his sorrows
in whiskey, smoke regrets.

sadness, it will linger,
Long after dog is fed.
His love has left him.

Lonely.

How his heart has bled

Bitter are the memories
Just before the fall

Blue are the horizons
Hopes to hear her call.
She left him for another,
he got to keep the dog

He's a loyal companion
but he doesn't do the job.

The master cannot hear him
Barking all night long
deafened by the pounding
broken heart so strong.

The Palace

In a world less ordinary
would the stars still shine,
milk and honey drip from the vine?
would clouds appear and drift on by,
give break to azure from the sky?

Would sea spray ruffle linen dress,
send children reeling, soaking wet,
let lovers kiss and holding hands,
touch their hearts and see the land.

This old and ordinary place
a palace grand
a special grace.

The stars of men
they do not shine
those pale reflections
lost with time.

All the acts that men can do
need night to cover, the sooty hue
even night cannot erase
the peal of siren
copper chase.

Villains Hyde like,
Jekyll's heirs
lounge in leather
easy chairs
Stroking salve into their wounds
make up artists
paint cartoons
faces plastered, stretched,
pulled back
mask the fissures
time did track
like rows for seeds
love and care
iced over smooth
no growth is theirs

What eternal patience waits
to trap the mice
from out this place
to sweep the dust from under rug
release the waters
bring back the flood
to wash it clean
this palace floor
refit for life
and love
and more.

So Sorry

Sorry

for the anger.
The blood up in my head,
boiled out
in furry,
a froth so hard to tread!

Sorry

for the F bombs
dropped in mad array.
Ire not held in check
so rage,
it won the day.

Sorry

for the timber
brash to little ears.
Tones of bloody violence
wracked upon with tears

Sorry

for the words,
ill thought and out of place
words of bitter iron
taste cannot erase

Sorry

for so many things
in moments that were ripe
to heal a little wound,
instead resort to strife

I cannot carry back
in time.
The moments,
they are lost.
I look only to the future.

Sorry
is the cost.

I Want That

the horror of this silence
these quite sounds that kill
empty spaces
Hated
echo's loud and still

Shouted eyes, those daggers
dripping loathsome drops
lips so tight,
it's hurting,
pain that never stops.

can't we build a fire,
a warm and burning brace?
sit a little love down,
brighten up this place.

is there no forgiving?
grudges held with might.
strength in numbered sins
now
every little slight

can there be a rewind?
a wrapping back of time
moments when we had love,
prickly though sublime.

I want that
