Fearfully Clumsy

I'd never been afraid of falling
As a rather clumsy person
I had fallen my whole life.
Then I fell in love
And falling became terrifying
but getting up became the hardest part.

Cigarettes

Thoughts of you
Like a cigarette to me
Addictive and consuming
But cancerous
In every way
Yet I'd still go down
In your flame

A Pretty Little Doll

I watched them
Primp and polish.
That pretty little doll
She sat quiet and still.

I watched them
pluck and tease
 that pretty little doll
Pluck and tease.
Tease and pluck.
Her hair
Her makeup
Her clothes
All down to the last nail
Polished and shined

But when that
Pretty little doll
Stepped into the sun
She was done.
For as it’s known
A pretty little doll
Can’t stand alone.

Ice Is Nice

Some people like the cold
But as someone whose blood was made of ice
It was the cold I despised.
But his touch
Like fire
Made me a liar.
For ice
Is nice
When your blood
Floods
With desire.

Drowning

Drowning in thoughts
Provoked by every emotion
You caused in me
Was like attempting
To swim in the ocean
When you don't know how.

The insecurity and fear
Would crash over head
Like a wave
Trying to push me down
Then the love and happiness
Would give air
To my watered lungs
Just as doubt would hit
Like a cramp causing
Me to sink a little further
And finally bliss
So shorty lived
As the image of you
You're smile
Your kiss
Filling my shaking bones
With warmth.

Travel

I want to travel...
I want to see the way
The stars look in the mountains
And the way the light meets you eyes.

I want to go to little coffee shops
And meet people
Who don't bother with masks.

I want to see the sun
Set against the water
With a million colors mirrored
Against the water better
Than any artist could ever display.

I want to dance in the rain
With not a care
Other than why your hands
Have left my hips
And when your lips will greet mine again.

I want to see the world,
But it's so much prettier
Threw your eyes.

Let's

Let's dance through thunderstorms
And make love in midnight air.
Let's forgive on rainy days
And kiss with little care.
Let's speak of passion in whispers
And devotion in screams.
Let's love till we burst at the seams.

Distance Haze

The longing that's settled
Tears at my sides.
It grips my heart
Ripping slowly.
Leaving moans and screams
To consume the still
Quiet air
That surrounds me.
To feel him,
His touch light
And demanding
Throws me into a haze.
But his touch
Is far far away.

Free

I’m sitting here
Watching you
While your feet are on flat ground
My head is high in the clouds
Maybe that’s where difference
Tears us apart
Because in my free time
I look to numb the pain,
While you live
Free of the struggle,
That holds me down
Free of the addiction,
To anything that’ll numb the pain
Free of your mind,
Free of the demons
That plague mine.

His Kiss

His kiss
Renders me still.
The feeling of his lips
Makes my stomach flip.
With every little brush of skin
A fire is lit.
