Oh Rain, How I Love Thee So

Oh rain, how I love thee so,
you're my dear disregarded friend, my often passed up on mate,
you make life's canvas beautiful and awe-inspiring and you refresh the ground when It's worn down and gasping for relief.
You bring us many different things that I know I am grateful for yet more often than not my fellow brethren they mock your appearance saying things like "my day is going to be boring now thanks to the rain" or speeches along the lines of "I miss the sunny days"; the radio and TV forecasts they always tag you with misery but I say that you bring us hope and assurance for present and future, you are beautiful though others do not see it.

Oh rain, how I love thee so,
please don't cry, the only tears I want to see from you are the droplets of water that paint on the canvas a masterpiece that we all need to survive.
I will still love you when the others have denied you, unconditionally, that's my mandate and I hold on to it with nothing but joy.

Victory

I shine the light that chases away the dark
I am like the train that breaks through the silence
I hold the Word that is stolen by the desperate
I bring the special warmth that binds the relentless cold
I am unfathomed by the mastery that holds you
I work to battle the evil that lies
I am made strong when I am weak
I am still here, I never left
I am again still here, I won't leave
We'll be okay, have no fear, peace be with you, no need to worry.

The Jobless Prophet

You see him on the streets sometimes,
other times he's nowhere to be found,
but regardless of whether he's seen by a collect few or by none,
he's somewhere, deep in thought, deep in prophecy, receiving visions from on high, for a single ma'am - a lone wolf or for those that concern the multiples down to the miniscule.

Whether they receive these,
the rare occasions when he speaks and when he shares,
or if they choose to reject his perspectives of life and the future, he's there, in the invisible shadow of broad daylight and in the piercing, loud quiet of 4am.
He's most often communicating through the medium of copper wires and fibreglass, the great library of incorrect information,
you see he's quite shy by nature but he's a valiant stalwart werewolf when the meek are threatened by the cowardly strong, he's sending arrows by distance, to pierce the imposing darkness that the fiend brings.

From vision to shield, let his arrows cloak the downtrodden and let the fallen angels beware, the jobless prophet despises evil work.

Broken Cities

It's time for an
oldie

Broken cities all
around where nothing
is actually
beautiful anymore,
pain in people’s
eyes will nothing
change I have to
leave. ?Please God
fix it all up I
don’t want to see
another broken soul.

Nothing good ever
comes out of here,
so much potential
lost each year. Good
people are made into
slaves all the while
oblivious to what
they’ve become.

Streetlights
everywhere but no
light being thrown.
Judgement cast by
strangers lack of
care makes me sick,
how did we become so
lost in ourselves
with no love for
each other?

Nothing good ever
comes out of here,
so much potential
lost each year.
