I'M Not Brave, I'M Just Me

I'm not brave.
Sometimes fear is greater than me.
But I've learned a few things about fear too. Not all bad either .
First and most importantly ,
fear is a survival instinct.
Necessary to respond to threats and dangers.
Positively , fear is a precursor to possibility.
Every great dream is usually a little scarey.
But chasing those dreams also brings about the actualization of those dreams.
Unlimited possibilities follow fears.
Fear builds confidence.
When you do something that scares you, you become stronger.
Self confidence is the result of successfully surviving a risk.
Doing something that scares you makes you stronger.
Each step out of your comfort zone and into fear grows that muscle .
And as that muscle gets stronger, so does your spirit.
One step at a time, stronger with each step.
I'm not brave.
I'm just me.

Broken Promise

A broken promise
Opens the door
The shade has lifted
You're hiding no more.

You both vowed to carry
Both gave your sign
Many hearts you have broken
And one of them mine.

I thought I knew you
You're not who I thought
You changed the words
Real love can't be bought.

A broken promise
A broken vow
Someday I may forgive you
But I just can't right now.

My Morning Prayer

"As darkness fades with morning light,
Opportunity and promise
Is plainly in sight .
Yesterday's sorrows,
Or mountains I faced ,
Suscumb to determination ,
A full slate
Erased.
He calms and assures me ,
That He will be there.
Warm arms felt around me,
With my morning prayer."

Family's Heart

"As darkness fades with morning light
I feel your presence though not plain in site.
It was the same everyday
Growing
Surrounded by love ,
With touch and soft words , all that you'd say.
Two little faces, two hearts you held tight
We BOTH were your world
A bond created
through love and your might.
A family we were
A family we'll stay
And remember you're with us
To show us your way.
The smiles are here
The happiness to stay
Determined to live life
To the fullest each day.
No drama or strife
No silence or
Cast
Just to live as
It comes
Perseverance the mast."

Who Can You Trust

"Guarded and cautious ,
Like hiding the key.
The front stays erected ,
for anyone to see.
The posts , the prods, and banter,
are just to keep worry at bay.
They're the one with the smile, not letting on each day.
The one with the help,
a shoulder or good deeds.
It's too hard to reveal,
That they're the one that now needs.
How do they trust,
To describe what they feel.
Leary of false
faces,
How can they tell ones loyalty is real.
Not taking chances, and instead turning to prayer.
They put their trust in The Lord,
because His loves always there!" Becky Orr Olson

Untitled

Within a last breath
It disappears
A bond, a heart, and shed of tears
Fragile, to actions revenge
Forewarned and foretold true
What I wouldn't give for more time with you.
The verse becomes shallow
Following the ashes, wind, and rain
Outward cover recognized
Its only the true that will remain
