Things Don'T Last

No write
No call
No talk at all
Push me aside
Like I was a lie
Can't change the way
I am here today
You can close your eyes
I'm here to stay
You just don't care
That just isn't fair
I was your first
They came last
But for some reason
Main priorities just don't last!

My Words Are Everything

In the realm of ink and rhyme, I find my place,
Where words become the brush, and thoughts the grace.
Poetry, my calling, a whispered symphony,
In verses woven, my soul finds its alchemy.
With every line, I paint my inner skies,
A canvas of emotions, where my spirit flies.
In the cadence of stanzas, I discover my song,
Each word a note, where I truly belong.
Through the valleys of metaphor, I roam,
In the depths of language, I've made my home.
For in these verses, I find my true worth,
My heart's deepest yearnings, my words give birth.
They dance on the page, like stars in the night,
Guiding me through darkness, with their radiant light.
In poetry's embrace, I am free to be,
My words are everything, my soul set free.

My American Dream

TO WRITE
TO READ
MY AMERICAN DREAM
POEMS AND BOOKS
ALL IT TOOK
MY AMERICAN DREAM
IS TO BE
WHO I WANT TO BE
NO HOLDING BACK
MY AMERICAN DREAM
TO LEARN AND GRADUATE
TO MAKE ENOUGH MONEY
TO PUT FOOD ON MY PLATE
MY AMERICAN DREAM
TO MAKE MY MOTHER PROUD
AND DO THINGS SHE DIDNT KNOW HOW
MY AMERICAN DREAM
TO GO TO COLLEGE
AND GET PUBLISHED
TO WRITE ABOUT MY PAST
MY AMERICAN DREAM
IS TO BECOME FAMOUS
AND EXPLORE THINGS IVE NEVER SEEN
THIS IS WHO I WANT TO BE
SO STRONG WITHIN
THAT NOBODY WILL STOP ME
MY AMERICAN DREAM

Cancer Sucks

CANCER SUCKS...
3 days before my 30th birthday
You slipped away
Your contagious laugh
Your witty sarcasm
You were so outspoken
It was rough for me
We didn't live in the same building
We didn't see each other
On a daily basis
You still meant the world to me
I seen you every now and then
Called and texted when ever we can
It felt like every single day
I feel a sinking feeling in my heart
Now that my grandma is far apart
That will never tear us apart
Remembering the last words
You laughed with me...
NOBODY UNDERSTANDS YOU BUT YOU
NOBODY WILL EVER UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH
SO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF MAMI...

Loving From a Distance

Loving from a distance
Day by day
It hurts so bad
These feelings I have
It feels like it is you
That I am missing
Date night,
Movie day
Those holes in my life
I love you like no other
No one understands me like you do
No one can read me like you do
No one can feel me like you do
Describing it is easy
Feeling it is hard
I want you like no other
No one can kiss me like you do
No one can hug me like you do
No one can embrace me like you do
Do I stay or do I go?
This is the question
I ask myself
Is the distance
Between us
Worth the love
That we share
Long distance
Doesn't make me love you any less
For you I will
And you
You take my breath away
So if its me that you want
Try a little harder
I'll stay right here
Waiting until our love
Is RIGHT
Because as of now
It doesn't seem so WRONG!!!

Playback

I remember it
Like it was yesterday
When we first met
The introduction
The chills
The laughter
What does it matter
Love me or not
The last one didn't treat me right
So it is your turn now
Your opportunity
I'll give it a chance
It did not work before
Here we are a decade later
I feel like I'm blessed
Blessed with a chance to take it back
Remember I wouldn't kiss, touch and hold you
Now I can't let go
Your smell, your protection
It turns me on
No one has ever done that
Now, I don't think I want to go back
What you do for me
The places you take me
Not even sexually
You take me there intellectually
You are the man for me
Even when I can't stand you
You always pull through
No matter what pain we go through
My night in shining armor
My protector
My #1
Can't see myself without you
My better half
My teammate, my squad
I thank no one but GOD
For bringing us back together
Even if we do not understand why now
We have a beautiful family
We will show them how!!!

The Streets

The hoes
The projects
Always think you fly
Yet, your mother struggles
Father, has two jobs
Don’t have enough money
And your still getting robbed
Walking through the hood
Guys always stare
Look left, Look right
Cops always there
Run up in someones house
Don’t even have a reason
Just want to run about
The street girls
The hood boys
The sirens
The fights
Crack heads and drug dealers
Parties all night
Remember those days
You know you miss that
Always wonder why
You would want to go back
Go back to the life
Of sex and crime
Baby mother struggles
Baby father hustled
Boys running around all crazy
Girls running the streets
Having a lot of babies
Mind is not set to go to school
That is a shame
Because you think your so cool
Low grades
High standards
Bandanna's hanging
Always flagging
Boys always packing
Clothes cut low
Body is showing
Strutting down the streets
You know she hoeing
Girls on the corner
Boys on the corner
Realize that’s how it is
Even if that's
Not how you were brought up
The hoes
The projects
Wonder who going to die next?
The struggle!
The streets!

Some Days

Some days I can't pull through
Some days I feel like giving up
My thoughts
My feelings
Writing is my only escape
My only outlet
Is the only thing that hears me
That understands me
I scream silently
I cry to myself
The pain lasts years
The reality lasts a lifetime
Its hard to pull it together
I have to be strong
For the family that I am raising
Show them strength
But how can I do that
When I feel like I have no strength left
Show them courage
Show them, what I am not right now
I have to
I need to
They believe in me
I want to break free
From this anger
From this pain
From this hurt
This hurt is all I know
That I don't know which way to go
I'm scared to move forward
What if I fall and loss control
Who will then make me whole??

Strangers From a Distance

Strangers from a distance
Strung together
No understanding
But I'll love you forever
Head spins, by all winds
Blamed and strained
By everything twice
Over and over
Feels like life
Unfocused and unsure
Emotions lash out galore
Flashbacks of the past
Affect our future
Nothings ever funny
No one ever laughs
He says don't bring it with you
But I drag it right on back
What it does to ourselves
It throws me off track
Confused and stressed
I'm all a mess
I apologize
For reliving the past
Plus the lies
We cant move forward
Without you pushing me toward
Toward the life we need to have
The passion we have
Has to last
Strangers from a distance
Strung together
With more understanding
Hopefully, we will last forever!!

London

January 8th
Changed my life completely
You cried on this earth
For 2 seconds
And I felt whole
Everything else could've went wrong
You were so right
You made things so bright
Erased all the negative
Made me think positive
It did not matter to me
Everything was just perfect
Freeze that moment
Embrace that feeling
Leave me there for life
She is my world
A new me,
A new beginning,
I felt everything changed
It all was rearranged
Only because you were born
You became my favorite song
One that took me back in the past
And made sure I never made the same mistakes
You became my favorite cake
You were my favorite everything
I never wanted to leave your side
Because I knew you wouldn't
My baby, my world
My special girl
My second chance at life
To get it right
This time it will be
Because for you
I will do anything

 Mommy
