A Fool's Dream

I dream
I dream of life away from this cage
A life free of pain
Free of shackles
Free of chains
The more I struggle the more the noose tightens
Is it my fate to die like this?
Like an animal?
I can hear his footsteps in a distant
Heavy and rough
His laugh cold, my tormentor...
I fight him no more
Is it my fate to die like this?
His whip breaks my spirit
His knife stabs my soul
My tormentor
My monster
Will I be free of this hell?
Will I dance with the stars?
Sing with the moon?
Find love…
But it is just a fantasy
A fool’s dream
I will die like this
An old memory
A cold night story
A shadow in the darkness
But I will not be alone
My tormentor, my monster
His eyes, a mirror to my hell
I will die like this
Forgotten…but not alone

My Lady

Hear the roar, feel the thunder,
Swim in my tears, dance to my heartbeat,
My heart pains when I remember,
My lady is far away,
I yearn for her,
To embrace her in my arms,
To feel her lips on mine,
Her scent, her warmth,
But yet I wait, I linger,
Patient to the stroke of a clock’s hand,
I will see her again,
We will dance in the rain,
Sing with the stars,
Lose ourselves in the moment,
But alas, we will yet part,
Inevitability cannot be escaped,
A certainty unmoved,
But like the moon and the stars,
We shall find each other,
And dance to the beats of love,
But for now, I yearn,
I yearn for my lady.

A Perfect Storm

I was empty
Ignorant of joy
Unaware of beauty
A poem incomplete
A story unfinished
Till my eyes set upon her
Oh how I wish
To embrace her in my arms
To feel her lips on mine
Her soft kiss
Her warmth heals my pain
Pain of yesteryear
That haunts me no more
She is full of life
A garden of daisy
Lit by moonlight
Adoring beauty with beauty
She is a hurricane
And I a tornado
A perfect storm meant to be
Destined by fate
Oh how I wish
For her to be mine

I Am Nothing

I try so hard not to
think about her
I struggle
Yet when I am alone
And the voices
simmer
Silence reigns King
And she consumes my
thoughts
At first she is like
a sweet tide
Warm to the touch as
it cradles the beach
Then I feel it…
My blood thickens,
my heart screams
My soul yields
She turns against me
A bitter wave, rough
and cold
And my heart the
ocean floor
Helpless to her
desires
I struggle
For when I am alone
And the voices
simmer
I am nothing
Beaten and broken
I am nothing
I am nothing
I scream it now!
I am nothing
But wait…
Do you hear it?
That voice…that
whisper
That calm after the
storm
That cold wind in
the summer heat
It is the sun as it
sets, its lips on
the curves of the
ocean
My body tremors
Can it be true?
My eyes open
And I hear that
whisper again
It is on the other
side of the door
I clutch the door
knob
My hand shakes
Then it dawns on me
For at that moment
When the clocks hand
stops
And a second lasts
for eternity
I am nothing
And yet I am
everything…

Cursed

I crave
To see her once more
For she fills my mind
Consumes my heart
I crave
Why is the world so harsh?
To take her from me
Her smile
Her smell
Even her stubborn self
The happiness, the pain
The heat
I miss it all
But I will see her no more
I am cursed
My heart bleeds
My soul trembles
A thirst, which will never end
Only in my dreams
She waits
If only I could dream forever
I would dream
For eternity

Torment

A straight line is what I crave for,

But my mind curves, when I think of her,

My minds is a typhoon, and my heart is the eye,

She is beauty,

She is happiness,

She is fire!

She is laughter,

And she is Love…

Her face is obscure but her heart burns,

Her fire consumes me,

And the brimstones quench my thirst,

Her face is obscure but her heart burns,

She consumes me,

And I am in torment,

 But yet I hope,

I will find her,

And my line shall be straight,

We will dance in the rain,

The wind will carry our music,

The drops will be our mirror,

The angry wind shall be calm,

And the earth shall stand still,

My torment will end,

Her face is obscure but her heart burns.

Bondage

Misunderstood
Unwanted
Unloved
Cast aside and called names
A prisoner of chance
Caged by Fate
She is my mistress
Cold as they come
Branded by hate
Raised in darkness
I am destined for destruction
Destined for death
She is my mistress
Colder than Ice
Fate
I cannot escape her
Her grip is firm, it chokes
Is there anyone out there?
Can you hear me?
Hear my screams
They are heavy and old
My spirit is broken
My mistress beckons
A prisoner of Fate
A maze without a map
Death, my only escape

For a Second

It’s been a minute,
Been thinking about you,
The last time I saw you,
The last time I got to hold you in my arms,
I can still feel your touch,
Soft and tender, unending...
Dancing under the stars, nothing else mattered,
For a second, it was just us…
For a second, the world stopped spinning,
For a second, a fire lit inside of me,
It burned, unquenchable...
It burned, all-consuming…
It burned,
Our lips then parted, our hold released,
The fire inside, snuffed,
For a second, it was just us,
And yet I remain, trapped within that second,
The clock’s hand will not yield,
For it yet searches inside of me,
For the last embers, deep within,
It will not yield, it will not…
I will not fight it, I will not resist,
The fire must return,
Unquenchable and unrelenting,
It will not die.
