Truth

The most terrible thing of all
were the sun was bright and warm
and the poplars grew on the grass were the children played
yet it all seemed frighteningly wrong.

A place of horror,
torture, death, and fear
with memories
of which sane men cannot conceive.

Today some gaze blankly,
walk silently, or open their mouths in a silent scream
because there is nothing much to say
after one has pointed.

Auschwitz
The most grisly tourist center on earth
yet people come for many reasons
to see if it really happened, to pay homage, or to remind themselves.

Yet today the sun is bright
the grass is green and children laugh
all this seamed frighteningly wrong
through the nightmare of the Holocaust!

Freedom

As you hear the roar of teh standing crowd
You can feel the real strength found in freedom
The spirit, spirals, from seat to seat
And the heart can speak its truth
This sing-song sound found in the wind,
Is the sing-song sound found in freedom.

A Little of Love

Racing, exciting and exploding; at once
A blanket surrounding you
With warmth and desire
Blood racing as a raging fire
Building from deep in your soul
Until it engulfs your entire being
Your mind whirls stormily of ideas
That leads to only them
A knot that churns in your chest
Bubbling with excitement and happiness
In anxiety of hearing their voice.
A Little of Love
Contentment pours out of mesmerizing lips
With honey-covered words dribbling unto
You; making you feel sweeter and more precious
Hearing only your own heartbeat pounding
In your ears and against your chest
As a detailed picture drifts in your mind;
A much desired haunting.
A Little of Love
Every movement and softness that comes to their
Eyes; never go unnoticed
Their laughter and the simple curve of their lips
The clouds seam only the first step to your
Ever escalating happiness; that nothing else
Seems to matter; but that look
Given only to you: eating you up inside
When you feel like life can hold no more
Hidden treasure for you; but
Your only proven wrong yet again!
A Little of Love

Beauty of Nature

The sun was setting
The breeze grew stronger
Hustling and bustling of people began
Animals rushed in-doors

Splashes of color
Entwine with night
Black engulfs all
As the shatter of glass echoes

Midnight skies
To dark to see
The purple branches appear
Sounds of bull whips not far behind

The sky lightens
A warm glow sooths all
The calm of the world
Has yet appeared agian.

America Singing

You hear the sweet melody of unity
The buzz and bustle of many songs at once
The movement of momentum in the workplace
The cry and laughter of the children
The whispers in everyone's ear flying throughout the school
These are the many different songs
We hear or sing from youth to aged
You hear the sweet melody of unity.

For Me

"You can't do it!"
This is what I heard
My mind whirled in disagreement
I can, she chose me.

The silky smooth coat
My hands never wishing to leave
The unbelievable trust in her eyes
The nudge of encouragement I receive.

My body shakes as I slip on
She stays without movement
The nudge of my legs lead her
She glides like the wind; just her and me.

The Sunflower

By what magic did the carver use?
Did he shave and chisel you from wax?
Did he chop and hammer you from wood?

You with your never ending rein
you stand calm and serene
your bountiful face brilliant yellow
with scalloped petals and clustered seeds.

You who greet the mornings and pray to the night
your mighty stock a deep-green with
downy that hugs away the cold
what was used to bring you to life?

Myself

Most see me as a vibrant green
alive and bursting with ambitions
competitive and willing
my feet a treadmil that never stops moving.

Only some see me as shimmering silver
my accomplishments leave me self-conscious
and unaware
quiet and withdrawn
my mind reels ahead of others as my body
stays in the shadows.

Difficult Times

I sing of a time usually full of innocence and youth
of happy memories, loving smiles
carefree wondering through mind and body
to enjoy life and to embrace it
this is not the way this melody goes.

I sing of hopelessness and uncertainties flashing in my mind
of wrong and rights or the correction of both
questions to who you truly are
that hollow whisper in next to my ear.

With constant wondering in reality or not
the voices that sounded around me or those that did not
within ones self, unknowingly
I watch as though a film play before me
am I part of this life; I question?

I sing of a time so concerning to me
the vivid flickers that show
the beginnings I'd rather not see
this ways the beginning of my melody!

Questions

Am I ready?
What will I do?
Will it be right?
Or Wrong?
What choices are ahead?
Will my love be enough or will
it be too much?
All these questions I carry in my
mind; are they for the best?
