True Agony

I have drunk from the cup of Sorrow,
Yet my thirst has not been slaked.
So I drink from the cup of Pain,
And I have slaked my thirst at last.

For I now bear the fruits of agony,
Because I have drunk from both cups.
I know Pain,
My closest friend.

I know Sorrow,
My dearest comfort.
I can not turn my back to the pain,
Nor to the sorrow.

They are my allies,
And yet, they are also my enemies.
I can not run from either,
But nor can I stay with them.

My heart is broken,
I know true agony.
For my friend, my mentor,
You are now the deceiver, the traitor.

I will walk this earth,
Bearing both pain and sorrow in my heart.
Nothing will ease my burdens,
For now I am the bearer of Agony's greatest triumph.

Split-Personality

Two sides of one coin,
Split between two.
Brought to the light,
Drowning in darkness.

Hope to be whole,
Yet reality stays.
The personality is two,
The brain is one.

They fight to be there,
To be in control.
They seek the end,
For the other to be gone.

They cannot part,
No matter their wish.
The third brings them together,
Holding them in their chains.

They eat away at one,
Destroy all they see.
They can't be controlled,
No, not your split personality.

Darkness

Silent, deep,
Black all around me.
Shadows slip through the night,
Playing tricks on people.

We think we see things in it,
We pray we don’t find monsters.
Even if they are not mythical,
They are still there.

It comes with the setting of the sun,
Leaves with the sun’s rising.
Some find comfort in it,
Some find only horror.

People turn on the lights,
Just to try to escape it.
What they don’t know,
Is that the light won’t last forever there.

Life After War

This is not what I wished for,
To keep on going when the good are gone.
To have a life,
When the wrong have won.

How can I see the light in day,
When darkness is my home?
Can anyone hope when lives are lost each day,
Or is there only quick death to beg for?

Why have we been forsaken,
Only to be saved by our executioners?
How is this heaven,
When it feels like hell?

Is this icy cold the warmth we wish for,
Or the home we've always known?
All I know is that the day is over,
And no tomorrow is certain.

Misery

Running from the world,
Hiding from reality.
Holding onto dreams,
Never wanting to wake up.

I cry for everything I've done,
All the misery I've caused.
All I did was cause pain,
All I did was make you cry.

I'm all alone now,
Drowning in pain and misery.
You were the most important person,
Yet all I did was hurt you.

Autumn Night

The forest is filled with dancers,
Spinning through the air.
Twirling to their own tune,
Switching partners in seconds.

The light of the moon shines,
Brightening the forest clearing.
The dancers weave through the air,
Dancing without a care.

The girls are dressed in gold,
The boys in red and orange.
The band plays for everyone,
Keeping the dancers in time.

I watch from the outside,
The song dancing through me.
It fills me with sweet longing,
Wishing I could join in the dance.

Bright colors flash as they twirl,
Stopping when they touch the ground.
For now I'll stand in the shadows,
Watching the Autumn Fairies dance.

Apocalypse

Silence, nothing,
Clicks heard.
Light appears,
Drifting towards it.

Watching, waiting,
Curiosity pulling me closer.
Suddenly, fire,
Everywhere, burning.

Watching, waiting,
Silence, crackling fire.
Then something pierces the air,
Screams, loud and shrill.

People running,
Trapped in the circle of fire.
Heat, fire closing in on us,
Burning everything in sight.

Fire climbs onto us,
Pain, searing pain.
More screams,
More burning flesh.

Then, after so long, silence,
Never ending darkness.
Nothing left, all of it gone,
Everything has ended.

A Winter Poem

Swirling and tumbling,
The little snowflakes fall.
Pure as little children,
White as angel wings.

Each has a design,
Unique and intricate.
It lands on everything,
Makes piles of snow.

Everything is quiet,
People watch them fall.
The snowflakes are dancing,
Following the winter tune.

My Secret

There are things you don't know,
Things that I don't tell you.
You only know what I've told,
Only what I've shown.

You can't see it,
The many things I hide.
You don't know it,
You think you know everything.

The me you see,
She's only a fake.
You don't see the real me,
I don't allow you to.

I don't want you to see her,
The me I hide inside.
She is wounded and broken,
Tortured, hurt and crying.

You have no clue,
You never will.
You don't know the real me,
You'll only know the fake.

Pain

Pain can cut and scathe,
And go beneath the deepest waves.
It shows our anger,
While proving we have survived.

Yet, this feeling,
Is hated and held so dear.
For those who tread without fear,
Will find this feeling most everywhere.

They will seek out pain,
And show it to the grave.
They will carry it upon their soul,
In chains and scars that shall not heal.

Pain spares nothing,
Mercy is not to be found.
For it lies low,
'Til you are buried in hallowed ground.
