The Sorrows of a Raven

I was not always a symbol of death and pain. There was a time that I was a sign of happiness and purity.
I was not always a soulless pit of darkness. There was a time that I had a warm feeling of love coursing through my veins.
Her name was life and I tranquility lead her to each steeping stone of her journey. She didn't truly love me though.
You see, sin came along with his handsome looks and swept her off her feet.
That is when things began to change. I became depressed and obsessed with my dear life and every time I encountered the pain of lost love, I cawed my song of sorrow.
And day after day I would perch on a tree branch and pray,
"God if you could only give me my life back, I would be the happiest bird in the kingdom.Unchain me dear lord.I have become a prisoner within myself and I want to be free."
As a reply, waves crashed down upon the water and the sky became gray. I dove for the sea and no longer I be.

Austin

His eyes are as deep as a crater and his words are like ice.
He is a poets lover and also my brother.I hate him and love him just the same.
He looks at the unrecognized and gives them a name.
He needs his mother but he knows more than he admits. If he doesn't get what he wants he'll throw a fit.
He understands much, but has a lot to learn. A step out of line and his life will take a turn.
His comments have a fiery burn to my mind and poisons my blood making me lose control.
His presence annoys me the way that he messes with me.
I am not his sister. I am a toy with a mind that he can manipulate for his benefit.
He may be younger, but he takes control of all things I do not know and he uses it against me.
But I am strong. I have a song that must be sung and I will catch him when he's most vulnerable.
I will take his mind and smash it to pieces. I will break the bones in his body and let him whimper in pain.
I will carry him to mother and be sure to take the blame.
I'll take what he's stolen from me and claim my territory. The leader has fallen. Victory is mine.

Ignorance

If people understood him, his life wouldn't be so hard.If they only knew that he had the lower card.
If people saw what he saw their eyes would truly burn. Tears would drip down their faces in utter concern.
If people tasted what he tasted they wouldn't want to eat. They would bow their heads and shamefully admit defeat.
If people heard what he heard, they'd cover their ears. They'd hide behind dreams because life's shouting out their fears.
If people felt what he felt, their souls would become cold. They'd understand their heart's desire of something warm to hold.
Alone and helpless they stare into space wondering how much more God would make him face.
