Dare To Dream

Dimmed and crestfallen
You object for the vices!
Your trimmed hopes
Your dampened spirits
See what has befallen you
You played the prey
You braced for the claws

In the grinding grip
An enduring grotesque
A slew of bottlenecks
Verily the grain of misfortunes
You grew pale and sunken
Dejected and conquered
In a fairytale
'Who spelt your doom?

You object of mockery
Drop that flawless skin
That shadow you revered
Unlock that potent self
Enliven your reasons
For life is seasons
Seasons for reasons
Reasons to live for.

Resolution Hynm

>Me, My own hostage
The dreams from my father
In volumes and effect
The lessons from my cradle
With cognitive and psycho-motor tags
Ingrained in my mind
Indelible from my heart
Indeed a pride to reap there in
Bearing my names
Beaming with wisdom
My beacon of hope
So I stand to admit my papa
You are one in a million
Your words, my command
Your actions, my path
Your advice, my solutions
Your legacy, my challenge
Your efforts, my strength
Your triumphs, my pride
Your dreams, my mission
That I will forever keep
Keep to measure up
Up to your level of achievement
That even in my wildest dreams
In solitude, in multitude
You will be my guiding star
The knight in shining armor
That I will never be, my own hostage>

Herald In the Moon

What glows in beauty
Like this flawless nature
In the stunning 'super moon'
Indeed a relic of divinity
When it comes this close
Thrills us with its moonlight

From savanna resorts of Africa
The bears in snowy Antarctic
Over the sassy Hollywood parties
The spectacle of Arabian nights
To civilised homes in Europe
It puts millions in awe

In moonstruck seas and cities
All admire this rare gesture
The tides rise in dazzle
Sailors dock ships in wait
To see pie of marvel
In this epic showcase

You Turn Me On

You turn me on, you make me misty-eyed,
My nascent science of love, years back,
When I followed you downstream, to bloom it began,
The sight of flowers blossom, in earnest we did invest,
Your frail hands, soft and tender,
Your electric touch, skin-deep not,
You taught me to watch the stars, in reflection I wondered,
The Antares and Aldebaran, caught my sigh,
Provoked, you opened the gates to your heart,
You filled me in, you turned me on,
Oh the Aroma, and the beauty to behold,
Two star-crossed lovers,
As breath-taking as the Maasai Mara, we opened to a new world
Full of life,
Full of energy,
Reasons why you turn me on!

The Pain of Your Love

The pain of your love, pricks me to the bone
Like a pissed off praying mantis, I plead with tentacles
The pedigree of your love, powers me to a craze
Pumps my heart to a refill, primes my soul for a play

Painstakingly I peel back, promises in sync
Perilous is my denial, for you poisoned me with love
Where my past dwells, and the present relishes
A bowl of wet rose petals, a morning petit four

The palms of your hands, with a petal soft pat
Your name puts me in a party spirit, oh poetic darkly
Having your love down pat, a huge payload there is
Would you pay me back, for I am a parrot not

You ply in my veins, you keep my password
Your prowl a peachy keen, peek-a-boo it poses
I placate you with praise, I pledge my loyalty to you
Oh poetic darkly, I pledge my soul for your love

In the Heat of the Battle

Spare me the goof,
O dear Captain,
Hear the rattling mess tins,
My dear old kit bag,
Worn out in action,
I lost my hold-all,
The spare drawers’ cotton,
A half-full water bottle,
Almost emptying my Haversack lunch,
The sun is scorching,
The camouflage is withering,
The cover is blowing out,
Silhouetted we crawl,
The impetus is gathering, hell no,
The attack is uphill, so soon,
O dear Captain,
Silver-tongued Captain,
Think so fast, so fast like never before.

So Naive

naivety in reign
my nascent science of love
how I got duped into love’s vitamin mail order business.
so naive!
Just thought she was true
truly an angel,
with wings to fly me around,
and lift me to higher places,
but just a little later,
subdued and dejected,
it dawns on me in retort,
indeed, a monster in my life,
my thoughts of peril,
an uphill attack,
no maneuverability,
an untenable defense!
dragging in reticence,
overwhelmed,
I pondered on possible options,
leaving n not turning back,
it dawns on me once again,
it is expensive to fight,
throw your might,
lose your night,
just to a loosing battle

Port City of Betrayal

Apparently, they ruled with an iron fist
In the chilling jaws of Terror
Of men intoxicated for the kill
Salivating for blood of kindred
Free for the rape and extortion
In the bastion of Kismayo, Port City of Somalia

The crooked reasons of eating oneself
In a serial bloodbath of a nation
Usurping its nationhood
With straps of IEDs on their back
Women and children convinced duty-bound
To kill themselves for their innocence
And live the glory abound
But never to taste the fruits of their sacrifice

See, what has remained of the Port City
Except for the glaring ruins
Battered to a city of Charcoal Warehouses
For the shanties to scorch in the sun
In a neighbourhood of orphans and widows
And the maimed bearing the signatures!
Oh no! but wait,do you rely on your unborn for a future?
