Cara Paynter Poem
Around the river bend
Near the edge of the woods
There lives a Lakota tribe
Celebrating the latest rain
The steady pounding beat of the drum
The women dance a sacred dance
As the men pass the pipe
Nodding in happiness
The ponies whinny in the background
With feathers in their flowing manes
As they toss their heads about
Their hooves ponding the earth with the drums
The celebration can be heard now
As a hundred years have gone by
They will never be only a memory
For their future generations will never forget

Cara Paynter Poem
Walking alone in the dark
All is silent
Until theres a snap of a twig
Hands come from behind
Holding my neck
I try to scream
Noone Hears
The hands grow tighter
I give up fighting
I take a final breath
He lays me in the bushes
My body cold and still
Noone knows who did it
They probly never will

Cara Paynter Poem
Loaded in the starting gate
Who will win nobody knows
The buzzer sounds
And off they go
Thundering down the track
Jockey's on thier back
Riding with adrenaline
Making thier way around the bend
To the home stretch
Thier hoofs thundering like a storm
Down the path to victory
First, second, and third
Winning by a nose
The amazing thrill of race day

Cara Paynter Poem
In the middle of the field
He stands there
Tall and Strong
The wind blowing his mane and tail
As he stands there eyes so bold with a story to tell
He is wild like the thunder
No one can touch him
He longs for freedom
Like the one he use to know
He sees the ropes coming at him
Before they catch him he lets out a mighty cry
But for this Mustang it was all just a dream
For his spirit will never be broken

Cara Paynter Poem
In my room late at night i hear them
Voices telling me things I don't understand
I ask people around me what it means
I tell them what the voices say
They look at me like i am talking in a different language
When in all i am
I look in the mirror
I don't see myself
Instead I'm looking at someone i don't even know
She calls me the chosen one
She tells me my path is far from over
That there will many a sorrow in my path ahead
Then she leaves

Cara Paynter Poem
In a Stable
A handsome stud waits
With a mane black as coal
His coat a shiny black under his blanket
With eyes brown as the maple bark
Longing for attenion
His mind wonders
As he moves his head
Left to right
Hoping for his master

Cara Paynter Poem
The nagging about little things
To the complaining about you need socks
Never wanting to do a thing I ask
Just because I said I do
I love when I come home to a mess
Clothes here, Socks there, plates in the living room
Just for once pick up one thing
You only do what you want
I love you with my heart
But just because I said I do
You need to help to
Its the two of us not only one

Cara Paynter Poem
I walk alone
In the night
With a glock in my hand
Revenge is what I seek
Your dirty deeds
Will cost you this time
You sleeping in her bed
I am coming for you
I peek in the window
My eyes red from tears
Soon you will never do this again
You and her will be together forever
I sneak in the back door
Walking silently to her room
You make this easy
With the door wide open
My finger is on the trigger
Not caring anymore
As the shots ring out
With both your blood on the floor

Cara Paynter Poem
Looking into the night sky
The stars shine bright
They light up the sky
Trying to tell us thier story
Living longer than a human
They have seen more than you or i
They know the mysteries we can not solve
The stars will tell us thier story

Cara Paynter Poem
Voices, voices everywhere
Out the door
Down the hall
To the right
To the left
Down the stairs
They just don't care
Voices, Voices everywhere
Where they stop
Only you will know
