Of Lust and Love

Of moon-lit skies and somber rest
The gates of love upon her breast
Of peaceful dusk in Heavens' delight
The Cherub, bow in hand takes a flight
Of love and passion searching the skies
The lust begins to fill his eyes
Chasing the captured only to be teased
With arrows struck they can not flee
Of lust or love, which one to bloom
The moment now, is coming soon
Of chambered hearts, emotions swell
The loves escaped, tears do tell
Stories of now, some of past
Lust and love, they do not last
Enjoy these times, strength you will need
For when they're gone your heart will bleed

Poetic Surgeon

Sometimes my pen cuts as a scalpel in the surgeons hands
It releases my thoughts, it creates my plans
I can build them up, I can tear them down
Will I make them happy or will I make them frown
My words are filled with passion, they have the power of life and death
I can give you hope or make you feel there's nothing left
People follow the stanzas to the end of every page
Some titles express joyfulness while others breathe rage
Will my words take you to the skies, will they bury you in the sand
This poet is more than words, I am a still hurting man
So with each poem complete a part of my soul is released
When you take the journey, will you awaken or tame the beast
Creating is what I do, turning my flows into light
I will take you on a trip with every thought I write
So in essence this poet is the surgeon, the scalpel is my pen
I can take what was birthed in sadness and make you feel alive in the end

Empty Within

An empty heart equals an empty life
I the feel cold within I feel so much strife
What is love? Can you tell me how it feels
I've read the scrolls, I've broken the seals
They tell a story, one I have never known
Through my travels in life I have been all alone
No one to encourage me, no one to uplift my soul
With love, I am a clumsy as a new born foal
Galloping along with feeble legs I fall
No strength within to allow me to stand tall
Head hung low while I walk across this earth
Never knowing love, neither knowing my true worth
Where my heart once was, now abides a bloody rag
As I am subdued I raise my white flag

The Lonely Man

I hide my sadness by fits or anger and tears
If you could look through my cloudy eyes all would become clear
I have been so alone and have been through so many things
The pain that exists in sadness bites my soul and stings
Each breath is labored, with struggle I hold onto life
Within my veins bleeds no blood only strife
The life force in you is not the same within me
Disappointment is all that surrounds, so thick I am unable to see
Anything positive which may bring me peace
But I have been left with nothing by sadness the thief
Who strikes as I begin to rise, only to push me down further than before
A puddle of tears encapsulates me as I am curled upon the floor
Violently shaking, choking on my tears
The visions in my nights are the true revelations of my fears
As I am now, only lonelier than when I first began
I am an image of sadness, I am the lonely man

Legacy

This life is but a mist that dissipates in the air
The only thing that lasts is the legacy we share
It is built on the foundation of who we are and what we do
Plus where we've been and the things we've been through
It's the stories of our lives, the accomplishments made
The roads, the sidewalks, the highways we have paved
Leading us on a journey, so those after may live a better life
One filled with more blessings as to give no room to strife
Yes, we must be careful in the paths which we choose
When it comes to our legacy, we are not the ones who will lose
So allow yourself to think and take a deep breath
Is your legacy going to be a hindrance or a wonderful success

Your Poison

Your love is the poison that has riddled my soul
Taking me hostage, it has taken its toll
I've gone without food I've gone without sleep
It has blinded my eyes its shackled my feet
Your poison fills my being so I can't get away
I try to run but it makes me stay
I wrestle, I fight, I can not breathe
The more I'm with you, the more I desire to leave
Why won't you release me and quit playing games
Instead you envenomate ,you poison my veins
It courses through my body decaying my heart, decaying my mind
If I can't escape there will be nothing left to find
You will eat my flesh and devour my bones
Living with your poison, I feel all alone
The clock is winding down, the time is coming near
Your love is a poison that has turned into fear

The Madness

Trapped within my mind which is a state of perpetual madness
With every passing second ever increasing my hunger for sadness
As the clock ticks, time wastes away
Decay sets in as though it is just another day
The smells translate what my life is to be
Death is the forcefield that encapsulates me
I was fashioned at birth, I was formed in my mothers womb
Only to aimlessly wander the earth, what has been an endless tomb
questioning why I was created, not understanding why I am here
When so much of my life is motivated by pain, anger, and fear
Yet rage remains relentless, as my scares soon will tell
My days of existence are a physical hell
Each breath breeds anger, even with eyes closed I find no peace
The more I am around people, the more I awaken the beast
Set to devour those who cross me, to peel their flesh from their bones
Now that I have severed your carotid you will never return home
I question if they will miss you, I question who really cries
What a surprise awaits them when they open the present of your harvested eyes
For a moment they will see into the empty windows of your soul
My rage feeds my body yet my insanity is in control
I try to shackle my inner demons, they're too strong they escape
Imagine your scariest nightmare, there I am, I'm your fate

Healed By Love

The poison of your lips intoxicates my being
Yet without a taste I am only left dreaming
Of things longed for and things to come
For you upon my face are as the morning sun
Which brightens my day and leaves my body warm
I desire to be the one to shelter you from the storm
If your day turns cloudy and your sky goes gray
Use the love within my poems to find your very way
The way to happiness, love, peace, joy, and healing within
These are more than words, this is true medicine

Unstable

Pain inside the mind unwilling to be set free
Confusion brings about a level of uncertainty
Never to be controlled but casually maintained
The vessels begin to pound as I claw within my brain
Why am I unstable, always disguising what is wrong
I feel strength within that subsides before too long
Where is the escape and when will it come
Have I just fallen asleep and permanently become numb

Abuse

Since I was abused from such an early age
I've had to live with an uncomfortable rage
To ease the pain and hide my tears
Suppressing so much over the years
Emotionally dead traveling through life
The journeys I have taken all end in strife
Words you've expressed in various tones
Have done more damage than sticks and stones
They've cut to the depths of marrow and soul
Doing things to me that you'll never know
I've hid myself from this cruel world
Yet, for now I will leave this canvas unfurled
Giving you a glimpse into my past
Showing the scars which you have caused to last
I may be a product of my circumstances but remember you created me
Until now I've lived my life with a heart that couldn't see
Life is what you make it or the actions that you teach
Abuse is not only physical, it is also done with speech
