Don'T Make a Monkey Out of Me

Don’t make a Monkey out of me

I didn’t come out of the ocean
I didn’t fly in the air
My family tree has no Monkeys
So don’t you even dare

I’m not a monkey’s uncle
The Bibles very clear
I’m from the Son of God
On this I have no fear

I didn’t crawl on my belly
Laid no eggs in the sand
Divine heavenly creation
Produced this son of man

               Chorus

So don’t make a monkey out of me
We never went swinging on the trees
I never, ever ran on all fours
So don’t make a Monkey out of me

We didn’t come from Aliens
No super powerful race
They didn’t come and see us
From far out in space

The earth was made by Almighty
The angels watched and sang
It wasn’t a sudden combustion
The Idiots call Big Bang

There is no Earthly proof to see
Through out all of the years
The only missing link you’ll find
Is the one between your ears

How's Your Day

Cold and leering, often sneering
I’ve gone through out my day

Feeling no pride, wanting to hide
With nothing I want to say

I will not seek, the world that’s bleak
That offers me no relief

Don’t get involved, nothing’s resolved
Or suffer the pain and grief

Trudging ahead, my memory’s dead
With the awful, the painful and true

My lives at stake, I cannot fake
At all what I’m supposed to do

Is it too late, to change my fate?
Or is it carved in stone?

There is no doubt, I must cry out
And tell God I feel alone

If You Should Go

If you should go before I do
To your golden place
I will always think of you
And your smiling face

If you should go before I do
The world won’t be the same
I know I’ll wake up at night
And softly call your name

If you should go before I do
Life was such a pleasure
Every hug and kiss you gave
Was my lasting treasure

If you should go before I do
Please don’t go too fast
I will want to follow you
To be with you at last

If you should go before I do
I know you’ll light the way
To guide me oh so swiftly
To our promised days

But if it’s me to journey on
Think of me, remember this song
Our life was blessed our love was strong
And in your heart, I won’t be gone

Faith Is Like Stick Shift Car

Start off in first, go as far as you can
The engine starts to shake and roar
You got to shift to second, smooth it out,
It is really hard to ignore.

Second gear will take you farther along
You feel a little wind in your face
Pretty soon the engine will let you know
Shift to third to stay in the race

Now you are really humming right along
And everything feels like it should
But you feel that maybe you could do more
To make it go smooth like it could

Ease It into fourth, feel all the power
It‘s not unlike your faith in him
Each step you take, the farther you can go
The world in the mirror grows dim

But that’s not all it takes, so listen up
You will have to maintain your ride
You get your gas from the good book
Keep the trash from being inside.

And change your oil, when it is thin and low
And put a good clean filter in
Don’t get it from an earthly type man
Because you know where it has been

Kick the tires, make sure they don’t feel low
‘Cause the road is narrow and straight
We do not want to run right off the road
And take a chance in missing the gate

Set up straight, put your seat belt in place
You do not want to get pulled over
do things by using the golden rule
and you won’t have to look over your shoulder

If you want to have some company along
It’s probably a really good thing
Jesus will come, well he does rule the road
And after all, he is the King

Three Friends

It could be one, it could be two
And it could be three
The friends I have, I hold them close
Because they comfort me

Sometimes there’s only one I call
To tell my feelings too
And other times it might take two
Before I can get through

And if I want to make a point clear
And call on all of them
I will do it oh so gladly
And talk to all my friends

They are all important to me
Each and everyone
And the help that they give me
It is second to none

These friends that I speak of fondly
Have very special gifts
The encouragement’s they offer
Gives me a wondrous lift

And these three friends could be yours too
It is not an idle boast
Just call on them and change your life
Father, Son and Holy Ghost

The Pine Trees

The Pine Trees
By Patrick Lorenz

The pine trees lined the road that day
As I lay perfectly still
And there was a soft gentle breeze
As we slowly climbed the hill

And without moving a muscle
The sun peeped through the cloud
And I did not hear a thing that day
As they all stood in a crowd

The door silently swung open
I slid so slowly down
The pine trees stood there silently
As I touched the fertile ground

I didn’t hear the words that day
As the tears began to flow
But soon it was time for the end
And the time for me to go

The pine trees were there above me
Standing tall and so brave
Then all there was, was darkness
As they laid me in my grave

After

After

After all the laughter
After they all go home
Things go back to normal
And I know I’m all alone

At length I ask myself
How long will this memory last?
‘Cause when I’m by myself
My thoughts are in the past

I know how the poet dreams
I know how the lovers kiss
I think of your love tonight
I know I’ll truly miss

If I could do it all again
I’d try to make it right
I would hold you real close
Loving all through the night

Unless this mem’rys shaken
Perhaps by another one
Tomorrow these saddened eyes
May never meet the sun

The Old Man

The old man sat up in his bed alone
Tired and hurt by his pain
Not wanting to face the breaking day
Not wanting to do it again

He tried to push the memories away
And think of happy things
But he was tired of this Old World
And the ache that it brings

As he looked around his rumpled room
His life looked back at him
The elusive will to live was gone
And every thought was dim

For you see, he lived a dreamer’s life
A life that always seemed
That everything he ever tried or did
Was caught up in his dreams

He was going to do all things right
His Life would be a breeze
But when the final act was played
It brought him to his knees

The one he loved the most in life
The one he gave his heart
She Slowly pulled away from him
And left him in the dark

Alone and broken, ashamed and sad
He knew she wanted more
He could see it in her eyes and thoughts
As she walked out the door

Maybe tomorrow he reasoned aloud
They will find me dead
All I have to do to make it true
Is put a bullet in my head

But I’m not going to do it that way
That crazy lousy *****
If I hadn’t married and thought it out
Today I would be rich

Hell, I’d be in partying in Vegas
rollin and shooting the dice
with A girl on each of my arms
I wouldn’t even think twice

I will look and find me happiness
I can find me another
Young, bouncy, kinda dumb
A lover undercover

Why the heck did I stay so long
She ought to be thankin me
Try getting that boob job now
And you called me crazy

Love and Hate

Sometimes I try to make, sense of your Love and Hate
I thought you were the perfect mate, but now we talk and can't relate

At night I ache when I lay, at your side I want to stay
But the games' so hard to play, and I've lost you anyway

We had a while in this life, I could not have a better wife
Yes, there was toil and strife, but you pierced me like a knife

I found out you always knew, that you did not love me true
You crushed my heart through and through, but I did not stop loving you

But now I really fear, that the end is very near
It became crystal clear, the ship of life I cannot steer

And I could win if I cheat, and take my life before I'm beat
It's not an awesome feat, and then my maker I shall meet

Tell me where life begins, and how we pay for our sins
Satan stands there with a grin, as my life comes to an end

God's Wonderous Ways

a couple of months ago I ran across this story about 911. the story is true and was told on the 700 club. it was about this New York fireman that had just retired right before Sept. 11. He went to help his old fire station against his daughters' wishes. The man always told his daughter (who is a born again Christian) that he did not really believe in God. Well, he perished helping his fellow firemen on that day in sept. But let me tell you what happened.

God's Wonderous Way's

Let me tell you a story about God's wonderous ways
about September eleventh a tragic and awful day

as the planes hit the towers and the news began to spread
It became apparent that many would be dead

An old retired Fireman watched it with dismay
and remembered his daughter who was going to fly that day

He frantically called her and found her safe and sound
she missed her flight she said, and decided to stick around

He told her he was going to help them if he could
she tried to stop him, but she knew that he would

She always worried about him, the chances that he took
he did not believe in god, and did not read his book

He made his way downtown, and entered into the fire
He helped many people down but then begain to tire

A few more he thought, as he saw a woman fall down
Tired and heavy with child, He must get he to the ground

He picked her up gently, down each and every stair
they finally came out and he put her down with care

He stayed and talked with her as he caught his wind
Then he got up and left, and went back up again

As she was safe and got out, the fireman perished that day
he gave his life for others, which was the firemans' way

the woman that got out, she heard about his death
she had hoped he got out along with the rest

She had her baby soon, and thought about that man
she wanted to meet his family as soon as she can

She finally found his daughter, and called on the phone
soon she was traveling, to see her at her home

As they met tears were shead, and the daughter shared her fear
she had hoped he called out as the end was near

The lady dryed her tears and told of God's Grace and love
she told the Daughter her Dad's in heaven up above

You see as they had rested, before they parted ways
She told of God's glory, in the ruble and the haze

He had got down on his Knees, took Jesus in his heart
He was shining and smiling, as they went apart

God's grace and love that day touched many a soul
I'm sure theres more stories that we'll never know
