Waiting For An Angel

Your presence here on earth turned on the stars and the moonlight. They shined through my
dark room, letting the sun awake me from my dark nightmare. I was sitting alone wandering
if I stare at your picture, would I see you again? I sit and watch the trees, wanderin’ if
they are listening to my pain. Do you they know this is real? I’m feelin’ weak and my soul
is bleeding. I don’t think anyone is listening to me; my pain will just float away in the
cold air. They say it won’t be long until you’re in the blue, there’s nothing that we can
do. We only have a few moments to spare, please god, let me say everything right. She
starts to smile when the pain leaves, the angels are callin’ out her name. My words can’t
leave my lips, I am to busy watching an angel get her wings. Fly away, fly away with the
dandelions. You’re free now, so go run with the angels. I’ll be listening closely for my
name to be called next so we can fly away together in good company.

Sweet Melody

Sing with me, oh please, share the sweet melody
that lies within me.
It’s in my veins, travelin’ through my soul, awaiting
your plea. Sweet as honey, it flows so smooth
within the grooves of my body.
Don’t tell me you can’t hear it, don’t deny
my sanctuary. Step outside of the black
and white, let it sit in your eyes.
Take it with you, let it paint what you see.
Let the world be a sweet melody.

Golden Rust

Our love was once pure gold, shining deep within our souls.
Our hearts were the glistening stone that sparkled
through our eyes. We completed each other with
our band of love, vowing never to grow alone.
You then spewed your lies upon me, burning my soul
with acid. It left me stained and scarred without
hesitation. Our love turned to rust, with no
Gold left in the dust. I’m still shining though,
The bitterness has left my soul painfully
clean and your still rusting away, so tastefully sweet.

Gone In Sixty

Time is chasing me, chasing me away. I’m
drowning in its minutes with a
few seconds to spare. I’m halfway to the
End, my walls are coming down.
I’m rushing to save my soul but I don’t
think it’s even there. My number is going
to be up soon, the bell will be ringing.
Once that line is made, no more air
for me to breathe. I’m drowning
in my own demise, so just leave me with time.
The bells are growing distant now, my last breath
is fading away with no time to spare.

River Pain

I know it’s out there in a place where I haven’t
looked before. We’re both running away in
a land that has no name. I want to escape this
insanity that knows me by name, leave all
my pain in the dust. Maybe the wind will whisk
it away to an honest land. Let’s meet at the river
and clean our souls together. Let the water
trickle down with our fears, dry away our embedded
tears. We’ll carry the rainbow on our backs and
name our honest land.
