Golden Rust

Our love was once pure gold, shining deep within our souls. Our hearts were the glistening stone that sparkled through our eyes. We completed each other with our band of love, vowing never to grow alone. You then spewed your lies upon me, burning my soul with acid. It left me stained and scarred without hesitation. Our love turned to rust, with no Gold left in the dust. I’m still shining though, The bitterness has left my soul painfully clean and your still rusting away, so tastefully sweet.
