My Values and Purpose

Life's purpose Endowed by self-esteem Partaking not of sheer recklessness, But to hold deep values amidst shallow rivers Is an imprint held by beliefs through crests of a new order; Bend I shall not from the social mob of indifference--- my soul rises! Only the Lonely

Painted in twilight grey, the stars dangle low
over a far valley where willows bend
in a lone shade, creating lines of a face
disappearing from hazy

Upon stars, a wish holds this sigh
with yearning that you'll be here
to raise my eyes sunny as springtime
through your warmest afterglow.

Now I long for those days shimmering,
when the pond was our ripple of love
and how the waves would tremble
while I held the arms that waxed the night.

You never said your heart grew frail
as we ruffled through leaves of byways
mimicking voices on the radio
till lonely tunes stab me, dying along with you.

A Place In the Sun

On occasion, I saw a tiny light from above
but it was masked by depression’s glove,
and the hands that were lovingly stretched out
were pushed away and messed all about.

But one trying day the sunbeam found me
and showed in a vision all I could be,
expressing if I wanted that prophecy to come true
there were some things that I needed do.

That round blink didn’t have a gloomy glow
as it guided me to a Savior in-the-know;
we talked over all my blues and greys
and finally I could see through my angst's haze.

Frenzy Mode

This crazed boss pushes his ole luck
Mind's frenzy ticking like a clock;
As gut's livewire wants to explode
Rush of cusses now I shall load.

My pay is a low miser’s bag
While hard job has a large tag--
Stingy, lazy boss, he’ll remain
And there's nothing left to gain.

He jeers as overtime strays late
Keeping me on my desk, ingrate!
My turn for revenge, I will leave
All projects crushed, now DIE and GRIEVE!

Fisherman

My neighbors name me 'Fisherman'
trying to feed the hunger of a town;
a body ravaged by merciless daylight
while hands allay hundred souls or more

Riding through hours, to catch food
children pray for bounty when eves break,
while nails strum guitars for a harvest
that would supply family bowls--
Like a guardian , I arrive late
dreary  from roughened winds;
yet,I watch the folk under dark clouds
greeting me as the fisherman of our harbor.

Trembling In the Rain

June rainfall comes, jaybirds alight
waking the slumber of the night
treetops tremble; almost a fall
and windows creak like shadow's bite
ringing on walls-- a grumbled fight
while long prayers silence my call.

Life On a String

Puppet
controlled by strings
heart led like useless pawn,
without options

Fake smiles
Masked by pretense
A fate tugged by slave's rope
owned by master

Through Shadows

On red of night, stars hang low

Emitting their flashed luster

To witness my hazed glimpses,

Cruising through darkened shadows

Where I trace my aloneness

Down a boulevard now veiled—

From the absence of her eyes.
