Light Hearted

To explain in detail, is to take away,

away from the feelings I wan to convey

My heart is inspired for a short burst of time,

so I must find the words quick, and make them rhyme.

Dissident

Lost your innocence, yourself, your mind in the polarization.

You never stood for what was right, just the next sensation.

You mimic and mirror so well, the look of conviction

But your beliefs and words are just a work of fiction.

Stand aside, for the true warriors are here

purge your soul, make a stand or live forever in fear!

Glass Empty

Come with me to the abyssal plain of humanity

where nothing is real, not even sanity

where there no such thing as love and trust

just contempt, want and lust

where cynical minds play at your fears

where the only laughter is sneers and jeers

a very cold and distant place

where the kindest of you have spat in my face

compassion and love I heard them say

but I've watched everyone of them turn away

where The churches are filled with sacrilegious people

with their mahogany benches and golden steeples

Where they call themselves the consumer culture

Where the green eyed monsters fight like vultures

Where I look out my door and all I see

is the land of the me, from sea to polluted sea.

Awkward Girl

Every time I see you my heart starts to race

when you try to pretend, just to save face

I know you feel the way that I do

cause I'm weird and clumsy just like you

You're tall and beautiful with rhythms and curls

with a beauty inside not seen in most girls

you wear your heart on your sleeve, and try to hide from me

but your feelings are obvious and plain to see

don't worry what others might think or say

because to me you're perfect in every way.

Shell of a Man

Shell of a man is what I am,

once loud and proud, now I can't stand.

I once had plenty, and I gave it,

now have nothing, and no friends to take it.

Admired, inspired, alive and on fire

to degraded, jaded, faded and dire.

I cry out to god "why oh why"

but only rain and silence come from the sky.

I've carved and whittled, tried to make something,

till it was all gone and I was left with nothing.

The dice are loaded, I just can't win,

I'm tired of failing again and again.

I'll just resign to hang my head lowly,

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger,

but some things kill you slowly.

Lost Somewhere In Time

I Used to wax and wain, perigee and apogee

I used to flow harmoniously with the rest of humanity

so eclectic now I lack identity

To ebb and float sounds like serenity

but i tell you my friend it's complete insanity

to know for certain that all is vanity

Lifacide

Everyday is a battleground, I fight for every breath,
struggling to keep the pain of life from outweighing the finality of death.

See Sea

Imitate, emulate, the way of the primate

unenlightened spirits control and subjugate

Your eyes can't see and your ears can't hear

that loss of the known is your actual fear

Everyone talks, but few people know

that change is crucial and needed to grow

Pry your eyes open and keep your heart pure

get acquainted with yourself and you'll know that for sure

Simple Man

I am a man, polished and refined

there's mystery in my eyes not easily defined

I command my respect not with aggression

not physical prowess or possession

My will is of kindness, strength and transcendence

not ill will, ego and vengeance.

I have no need to impress anyone else

I have confidence, trust and respect in myself

No need to beat down and belittle another

I use my strength to lift up my brother

I will conquer my addictions, my demons and fears

growing ever stronger throughout my years

I will never stand idle and sit on a shelf

I will forge temper and master myself

Adversity

There's a black hole in the peaceful blue I've torn open

I stand on the event horizon against it's vacuum, like wind to a boulder

I shake off the delirium focus my eyes and collect my thoughts

In the distance i see an orange shining star and 8 planets

The change of scenery is blissful, but I can not rest here

Scared but determined, my knees tremble as I prepare to lasso the comet

I know this steed well in my 76 years and there's no need to tame it

As I get off at the milky-way and ride the rocket home

I smile in anticipation to the common man's woes.
