Where Is Love

Sometimes I feel alone
Like a kitten, abandoned in a small cardboard box on the side of a dusty back-road.
Sometimes I feel unloved
Like an orphan with no parents to call their own.
Sometimes I feel invisible
Like an arctic rabbit in a field of endless ice and snow.
But most of all...
I feel unloved
Because who could love that arctic rabbit in the field of snow?
Who could love a kitten who had been long forgotten in its small little cardboard box?
And who could love an orphan who had never known what it was like to be loved?
No one, that's who.
And in the end, all I have left is the beating of my broken heart to put me to sleep at night.
Because, who, who could love me?
