Can
you love
me without
the pain that love
brings?

Doreen Wright Poem
Echoes and vacancies
Where you used to be,
Is a reality,
I refuse to face.
Instead give me your face,
Look into my eyes,
Allow me to touch your nose
With mine and
Simply, not ever let you go.
I want to inhale you
And exhale me and
Become one over and
Over and over again,
Fully clothed,
Naked souls and
Until mathematics beholds
The theory of two being
Synonymous with one.
Give it to me.
Give me your past and
Your fears and your last
And your tears
So I can hold it up to the light,
Examine it and reignite
That part of you
That sings good night
With a smile on your face,
Just because you know
Your place
Is absolutely beside me.
Give me all of you.
We deserve it.

Doreen Wright Poem
I could cuss you out using all kind of bloody profanity,
that will cut you so deep,
it will enlighten you about your anatomy,
but the God in me, makes me...keep...
my mouth closed...painfully.
The amitigated audacity,
of you to disgrace my intellectual ability,
just by looking at me and
assuming my urban apparel means,
I may very well be,
just as stupid as you are honestly.
I could dance circles around you
yet you are not worth the steps.
I could dress you like a scarecrow and
put you in the south of the Bronx or better yet,
write you a poem that will make you forget
how ignorant you are to
judge a book by its cover.
Instead of allowing my feet to leave the Earth,
or reminding you that I could be the cause of your rebirth,
I digress.
I smile at you knowing
that you may be doing your very best
to survive.
Despite your judgements of me,
or cackling all type of female discriminatory beliefs
at me,
I do not judge you.
I simply walk by.
You will get yours
before I lose mine.

Doreen Wright Poem
I can only kiss your mind,
your lips speak words
unheard and
incredible yet
your mind beautiful like a summer breeze
envelops me so
I kiss it
lightly and innocently.
minus lust and trust.
I hug your heart,
it reminds me of paradise,
bright rays of sunshine and
where muisc is uncensored and
untouched.
Its melody engulfs me and
allows me to ride the wind.
It is fresh and cool and
original and you so
I embrace it.
Smiling.
Singing.
Safe.
Your eyes embedded in my soul,
I took a snapshot of them
with my camera phone.
They sparkle and speak
and allow me to see
who you are naked and vulnerable,
without a facade,
completely free.
I allow mine to dance with yours,
no audience,
lips sealed.
I love the parts of you
that only I can see.
I touch them frequently,
helps me cope with reality.

Doreen Wright Poem
Living is an enigma that
Inspires and discourages simultaneously.
Fear is not living.
Eternal hope makes it worthwhile.

Doreen Wright Poem
Humans, we equal different hues, sizes, beliefs,
we all face challenges, we are all cut and then bleed.
Rather than focus on the political views of those who have and
those who knot,
with put hands together, we must form a knot,
not one that reflects riches and money and idol gods,
not a knot full of violence and racism and phony nods.
Our land, we share, whether sepaprated by gates or
slates or
signs that state,
prime real estate.
Humans, we are, gifted, full of potential and skill,
examining our flaws, marching for those who are ill,
understanding education, some not quite reaching,
children in need of so much yet have no one teaching.
Where is our village?
The understanding that what affects one affects us all?
The belief in accomplishments? The outline of goals?
We have to join hands, as to not allow mankind to die,
we have to hum unity before the world fails to exist for you and I.

Doreen Wright Poem
It is almost that time,
the summer is disappearing in the skies.
Have to make sure I am able to educate,
teaching writing to the youth is how I elevate.
I have:
my lesson plan book,
a pretty business suit,
2 pens and a pencil,
a cup of coffee in hand,
Welcome Back to school letters,
a dry erase marker,
a pair of slippers (in case the heels hurt),
a pack of Tylenol (better safe than sorry)
and a heart full of standards that will not be lowered!
It is time to teach!!

Doreen Wright Poem
Silence
quiet, peaceful
Sitting, reflecting, sleeping
Night, winter, summer, children
Partying, screaming, laughing
loud, excited
Noise
