Because of You

Dedicated to Katie Bullis

I always used to live my life,
Just watching each day pass.
Every one, a grain of sand,
Slipping through the hourglass.

I took so much for granted.
I never realized what I had.
And when something had gone away,
It really made me sad.

But when I saw you lying there,
So helpless and so still,
I realized that I had a life,
I still needed to fulfill.

I appreciate the air I breathe,
The fact that I can walk,
The food I eat, the things I hear,
And my ability to talk.

Now I’m grateful for those things,
I always failed to see.
Somehow you’ve helped to make it clear:
Some have much less than me.

But now I know, without those things,
A life could still pull through.
I’ve changed my whole perspective,
And it’s all because of you.

Magical Spell

I’m hurting inside,
All my tears have been cried.
Since you did what you did,
I feel like I’ve died.

My childhood’s gone,
And what you did was wrong.
You ruined my life,
Now I sing this sad song.

I’m way overdue,
For a life good and true.
I endure so much stress,
And it’s all because of you.

I condemn you to Hell,
Where you’ll fit in well.
If I’ll ever be normal,
No one can tell.

It’s because you denied,
That good voice inside,
Telling you what to do.
You protected your pride.

Now I’m saying “so long”,
And your memory’s gone.
I’m letting go of these feelings,
I’ve felt all along.

I’m starting anew,
And I know what to do.
I’m looking at life,
From an odd point of view.

And I’m not gonna dwell,
On what I didn’t tell.
I’m finally out of
Your magical spell.

A Tribute To Liza

A night so still,
Pierced by a scream.
A crazy man forever,
Destroying a dream.
An innocent life,
Stripped by a gun,
In a battle, no-less,
That she could have won.
Hearts broken forever,
By two shots in the air.
Families mended,
By the love that they share.
Never more to see,
Their Liza again,
Harshly as life,
Has come to an end.

It’s a sad thing to happen,
To people so young.
It’s a sad thing to happen,
To anyone.
Nobody should pay,
Death at such cost.
And to loose a child,
Why there’s no greater loss.

Now dear Liza,
All I can say is this:
I wish you strength,
And eternal bliss.
I’ll think about you,
Everyday.
Please hold my hand,
Show me the way.

I know you’d be proud,
Of what I’ve achieved.
The fact that your gone,
Can not be perceived.
I’ve still got so much,
Left to do.
And I know,
That you also did too.

I’m trying to help,
Any way that I can.
I’m trying to win,
In this race that you ran.

Please help me and guide me,
Dear Liza my friend.
You paved the road.
Only you know its end.

Untitled

I watch the dancing flame
as it flutters all about.
Our only source of heat and light
since the lights went out.
It's orangey color and fury
tells prophecies of old.
Since the dawn of time it carries
all dark secrets left untold.
And when it spreads with rage
destroying all that's in its path,
it leaves you in the darkness
during the aftermath.
Its light shines for eternity
and to cease, it shall never.
The flame cries out from inside,
as it will forever.

Wonderin Bout Heaven

Does Heaven have a telephone?
You can call me everyday.
Does Heaven have a T.V. set?
You can see me in the play.
Does Heaven have a radio?
You can listen to me sing.
Does Heaven have a garden?
You can see the first of spring.
Does Heaven have a window?
You can look out at the sea.
Does Heaven have a staircase?
You can come and visit me.
But if by chance before you,
It should be my turn to go,
I’ll sit in Heaven and wait for you,
And together we will know…
If Heaven has a telephone,
We can use it everyday.
If Heaven has a T.V. set,
We can watch the children play.
If Heaven has a radio,
We can hear the people sing.
If Heaven has a garden,
We can see the first of spring.
If Heaven has a window,
We can look out at the sea.
If Heaven has a staircase,
We’ll just have to wait and see.
