Because of You

Dedicated to Katie Bullis I always used to live my life, Just watching each day pass. Every one, a grain of sand, Slipping through the hourglass. I took so much for granted. I never realized what I had. And when something had gone away, It really made me sad. But when I saw you lying there, So helpless and so still, I realized that I had a life, I still needed to fulfill. I appreciate the air I breathe, The fact that I can walk, The food I eat, the things I hear, And my ability to talk. Now I’m grateful for those things, I always failed to see. Somehow you’ve helped to make it clear: Some have much less than me. But now I know, without those things, A life could still pull through. I’ve changed my whole perspective, And it’s all because of you.
