Sakura

the one whose beauty I treasure the most
Brittle and dark her love no one knows
As if under a spell that does not go
She makes an appearance every year
Sometimes early or later
This is the time I hold dear
All who see her are halted in awe
She is beautiful but not yet mine
I don’t want her to ever leave
I will love her until the end of time

My Grandmother's Grand

worn glossy finish corners and edges scathed and torn layers of dust collected from the years keys played down and worn faint scent of old cigars accented with a hint of alcohol a beautiful melody slightly off tune vocal chords of an angel melodies unmatched even through the ages

Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Fast Food Epulaeryu
Chicken dances on my tongue Spicy flavor heats Teeth dissolve it one by one Chewing up my treat Flavor can’t be beat Now it’s gone Drink!

Homecoming

Favorite green silk robe Lying in wait for him to come home Dinner is ready The door opens steady Happy he’s finally home * Racing from the car to the door As soon as my shoes hit the floor My heart is capsizing Just now realizing She’s more beautiful than ever before * We’ve finally found our way home We’ll never again be alone Embracing at last Hearts racing fast Every emotion within a single moan
A collaborative limerick by Rachel Egona and Julian Egona

My Zen Garden

As the wooden rake sliding through my sands of patience
my pattern orbiting rocks
rocks laid still
through time and again
strolling through my garden
with complete balance

Sarah In the Corner

Fears locked inside
feet shuffling down the shiny linoleum halls
eyes glaring like needles puncturing her skin
echoes of humiliation in their laughter
experiencing isolation at the long empty table
loathing the silence until the conclusion of lunch
quietly and socially unable
nearing “home sweet home”
overflowing with anguish
as her plan was exposed
suffocated emotion
tension enveloped her neck
chair overturned
shuffling feet
eyes immobile
soul took flight
as she was found in corner
after the students took her life

Taken To a Psuedo Paradise

Truthfully decaying Patience is fading Boredom turns to Rest Thoughts churning Life to Death Frustration with fists Shattered Glass Lying on the floor Pain filled with false bliss This is was his end

Treasure

You are the mold that keeps me together
becoming the passion of my life
even in the worst of any weather
Time stopping when held in your arms
Only comfort rests in your presence
I cower in that luminescent smile
Always by your side
This time now and forever
For your heart is the only one I can treasure

The Trophy Tree

The Trophy Tree

Pinnacle of the pristine forest
Toxic from its blood-stained soil
The trophy tree sits

Barren of foliage
Dark decrepit limbs easily broken by subtle breezes
Amidst wisps of gray fog
The trophy tree waits

Surrounded by a dark ominous wind
Its veins filled with crimson sap from its suffering sorrowful souls
Engorged and contorted with anguish
Unapproachable
The trophy tree breathes

Constantly feasting –one victim at a time
Draining energies from Sleepy Hollow’s forest
Starving to fill its empty bowels
The trophy tree consumes

Silent screams echoing within its lair
Innocent peasants' heads stored as trophies
Roots reaching towards hell--

Trophy Case of the Headless Horseman
