Be Yourself

Zelda is who I'll always be
No one can change me
Not even in an eternity.

I'll always be myself,
There's nothing you can do,
I'm going to be me,
And I'll let you be you.

You call flaws,
I call quirks,
They are not annoying,
They are perks!

I'm not going to change,
So deal with it,
You can't change me,
But don't throw a fit.

No one is perfect,
Everyone's perfectly imperfect,
Don't let people's advice
Contradict.

You will always be you,
He will always be he,
That dog will always be that dog,
And I will always be me!

A Sunset In the Trees

A walk through the woods
Can lead you anywhere,
A magical place under ground,
Or maybe in the air.

I always seem to end up
In the same place,
Looking at the sun,
Right in its face.

But it's not the sun that gives
You warmth on the outside,
But the sun that gives
You the warmth on the inside.

It fills you with happiness,
With glee!
Just this sun
And me.

All around me,
Butterflies and bees,
What a great time
When there's a sunset in the trees!

Keep Hope

These days are full of sacrifice
To be forever gone,
But they'll go on, the days,
Just like always.

The memories are scarce,
But the thoughts are harsh,
What did we do?
If only we knew.

The sadness is horrible,
The children are dead,
My parents will die,
Please just tell me why.

I need to keep hope,
I just need to keep it.
Just keep my strength,
No matter the captivities length.

Dedicated to all those who survived and to all those who were lost during the Holocaust.

A Perfect Target

So lovely her smile,
So perfect her teeth,
A perfect body,
To finish the wreath.

A perfect target
For those with a sick mind,
How perfect, they think,
Oh, what a great find.

They think of her screaming,
They think of her pain,
What a great win,
What a great dame.

They charge her,
They just can't wait,
But one thing they missed,
She is their bait.

They were on the run,
But this girl can handle a gun,
Not only that,
She knows they want to have "fun."

But their fun
Turns black,
They can't run now,
There's no turning back.

They look at
Their "Shawtie"
But who knew,
this girl had a black belt in karate!

Ode To Dogs

You dogs make me happy,
Always barking and yelping,
Always trying to protect me,
And to me your always helping.

I love your big ears,
And your long snout,
There is never a time
You make me pout.

I love how you jump when you
Know we're going on a walk,
I love how you understand me
When to you I talk.

I love the angels
You make in the snow,
I love how you (almost) never
Tell me no.

I love the constant dropping
Of tennis balls in my lap,
And when I'm done,
You too call it a wrap.

You will always be my first dog
I'll love you no matter what,
Even if most people (never me),
Think you are a dirty, stinking mutt.

Even though you can't read this, it's still dedicated to you, my lovable, adorable doggy,
Rusty!

My Love, Your Mine

Your skin glows like the Rasberry, blossoms Sweet as the Carnation in the purest hope of
spring.
My yearning heart rises to your bells voice and leaps like a Seal at the whisper of your
name, Your mine.
The evening ascends in on a great Owl wing.
I am calmed by your Jacket that I carry into the twilight of Bookbeams and hold next to my
Hand.
I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears of Blood.
As my Arm falls from my Shirt, it reminds me of your Smile.
In the hushed, I listen for the last chirp of the spring.
My heated lips leaps to my Flip Flops. I wait in the crystal moonlight for your secret
love so that we may Run as one, lips to lips, in search of the glorious Yellow and
spiritual Sun of love.

Dare

Live your life,
Don't let it fly away,
Hold on to dreams,
Make them stay.

Keep pushing,
Keep trying,
Keep going,
Keep living.

Live in the moment,
Not the past,
Don't live in the future,
Make the day last.

So as you sit there,
In your chair,
Live your life,
Go ahead,
Dare.

I Am Far From Death

My love is starting to fade,
I don't know what to do,
The darkness is overwhelming,
But light's pulling me towards you.

No, you are the light,
And I'm trying to come closer,
And as you get further,
Over my mouth goes a sensor.

You don't understand
How much this means to me,
To find love and peace,
To find happiness and glee.

Now here I am,
So close I can feel your breath,
In your arms surrounded by lightness,
You are my savior as I am far from death.

Death Can Be Beautiful

The horror runs through you,
You just lost someone dear,
The shock starts to sink in
Causing you to fear.

You can not believe it,
It can't be true.
What happened?
To deserve this, what did I do?

Your thoughts make this ugly,
You make death seem awful,
When it could possibly be
Very beautiful.

It is just a part of life,
It happens to everyone,
At any moment,
You could be done.

Death can be beautiful
In such a way
To make you cry
But not in a sad way.

Just think,
Just imagine,
Of your dear one
Taking their trip to Heaven.

Just imagine,
Just think,
A beautiful coffin
And a sky pink.

Death can be beautiful,
Do not be afraid,
To think a different way,
For your heart 'tis frayed

Where I Truly Want To Be

Somewhere over the ocean
Is a place for me,
Somewhere across the land
Is where I want to be.

Here I am
Typing Away,
Stuck inside
All night and day.

I want to do something with my life,
I want to be free,
I don't want be here anymore,
Please, let me go, let me be.

I look over my lawn,
Looking at the birds,
Why can't I fly with them?
Why can't I run with the deer herds?

I want to be free,
To make my own decisions,
But all I see now,
Are nothing but visions.

I want this to be a goal,
But I can't see it being more than a dream,
I want independence,
No more of this 'people team.'

Animals,
I envy them,
What they have is
Much more valuable than a gem.

One day I'll find that place over the ocean,
Where a place is waiting for me,
One day I'll travel across the land,
Where I truly want to be.
