Virginia Frayer Poem
Is there really a mother of earth
watching over us
keeping things in line
I think there used to be
but she got tired of getting spit on
now she sits up on her cloud
high above and waits
for us to tear each other apart
and seal our evil fates
she wonders why we disgrace her lands
like monkeys in a rage
she thinks we ought to be locked up
no need for lock and key trapped inside
to burn forever at an intolerable degree
never the less we shall live on
reeking havoc upon this earth
she'll stay perched upon her cloud
until the crushing blows we throw
send her beloved planet into a rebirth

Virginia Frayer Poem
Askuwheteau meaning he keeps watch was a French speaking Indian who came
from the Algonquin tribe head aching from braids he lay down his long hair and sit
propped against a tree not far from the wigwams he lived in there he played his
flute to soothe his tired mind watching for any signs of harm to his people he had a
knack for spotting out shadows of other beings well before the figure came into
focus but this particular night was calm and peaceful knowing this he played with an
echo enticing the spirits to come and dance for this was a rare occasion where there
need be no worry of attackers to pleage them his people not far hearing the joyous
celebration skipped across the woods to join him song turned to feast and feast
turned to stories being told around a new built fire feeling eased and secure no
need for shelter they soon fell into a heavenly slumber

Virginia Frayer Poem
The winter days drag and drag
the frown on my face increasingly sags
turning me into a haggard old hag
my husband continues to nag and nag
he's tired of living in ratted old rags
time is frozen and forever lags
this season is one big snag after snag

Virginia Frayer Poem
Listen to your heart
listen to your soul
take another chance
not dig another hole
Not a countless Victim
Not the vultures Prey
open up your mind
take another way
You can always make it
take a stand and try
not just sit there thinking
it will make you cry
Take a leap of faith
Run into His lands
God is always waiting
to take you by the hand
Now is your time
clear all of your denial
be glad He's here for you
Grab a hold and smile

Virginia Frayer Poem
I look to the Heaven’s for our Father to come I am now living in a realm between
Heaven and hell below my feet I hear the growling of the beast his minions hackling
clawing at me at first I am wondering why the others sleep soundly in their coffins
and I am but awake then the great spirit speaks you are to protect the land of the
dead, In these coffins rest the souls of the Almighty The devil will send many to
disturb their slumber Here is the weapon that you will use to fight them Use it well
God has a special place for you Raven I smile and nod eager to fulfill His duty There
is a greater peace within me now I am not afraid I clutch the gun tightly and make
ready to aim days go by and I have yet to see a demon at first I assumed this task
would somehow be easier when I was to see a demon pull the trigger and send him
back to hell They must be toying with me Maybe they’re waiting to see how long it
takes me To crack to give up and join them They can’t have me I am a servant of
God I’m Better than this I sit down on a giant rock elevating me above the tombs
Being here is weighing on my heart I have no one to talk to there’s no warmth to be
felt I can’t even sleep for there is no need for it anymore what am I to do to keep
my sanity when I am the only one living among the dead and I’m not even alive In
the distance I start to see what looks like a formation of bats flying around madly
and then a sudden chill crawls up my spine I stand up tall upon the edge of the
jagged rock feeling as if something is about to happen

Virginia Frayer Poem
Sandra was her name before they took her now they call her Lady Nanette when
we were young we played in the dust yards together a special place dedicated to
well the not so fortunate ones it was the only place we could go and not be beaten
we did not belong anywhere else if we even try to step foot on the property of the
rich and let me tell you that was practically everywhere you’d be lucky to make it
home alive that night we were poor yes but we made the best we could out of our
lives and we always had fun together she was my only true friend Sandra even
though in rags had the most beautiful face and long black hair I always told her she
was the only one I knew that could make the dirt come to life she would smile and
say your momma must of poked you in the eyes when you were a baby but I must
not of been the only one that thought she was something because one day when
we were in the middle of our usual caroling a very well dressed man was passing by
which wasn’t really that peculiar but then he stopped dead in his tracks and
watched us for a good while he must of got a notion because no well tailored men
would have ever walked upon the dust yards they’d be too worried a speck of dust
would fall on their shoe without warning or word he grabbed hold of Sandra’s arm
and dragged her away she was so brave she didn’t let out a single murmur I just
stood there bewildered I wouldn’t dare say anything in fear it would get us both
killed I heard word a few days later that they had her all made up in a dazzling
black and purple gown that would float when the wind caught it her beautiful black
hair pinned with little purple flowers and the left side of her face had been marked
with cascading pink vines that hugged the corner of her eye the man that had taken
her claimed her for his wife telling no one of her previous misfortunes and forbid her
from speaking of them in turn she choose to completely silence her tongue never
speaking a word to him or anyone again she hated the rich and now she had to live
her life as one to this day my tears fall imagining what it would be like to walk in the
shoes of Lady Nanette

Virginia Frayer Poem
Who new when we met how well we would blend
a trusted companion I will always defend
with her there is no need to pretend
if ever in trouble her hand she would lend
thank you dear God for sending this friend

Virginia Frayer Poem
How can you forget a crushing past full of horrors and dead ends
You can try and pretend the bones have realigned and began their mends
You can hold your head up and brush aside the trails that lead to your heartache
Deep down inside you know yourself well and hate the feeling of being fake
Somehow you carry on even though your not you just trying to live another day
Hoping somehow something will guide you to a bright and shinny new ray
Quite a few times you’ve convinced yourself you had crossed the sturdy bridge
That you were no longer lingering beside the terrors of a narrow ridge
Focusing on other things fading out the bad controlling all thoughts that bind
Then another painful chill clutches hold returning to eat your mind
Go away evil demons I command in the name of our Lord above
Let help come and troubles fly to the serpents below creating only love
Come help to forgive the ones who gave me no where to turn in time of need
Help me to forget all the wrongs of these individuals and their dishonored deeds

Virginia Frayer Poem
Sometimes it’s hard to remember their faces
Sifts away like sand sifts through the fingers
Daddy I made it sleep well I forgive you
Mom you could of found me or pretended to try
Sis I miss you but you cannot control me
Grandma I wish you could of used your heart just once
Living on without them no easy task to take
Created a wall and had a massive army to defend it
Spent all my time portraying someone stronger
Forgetting who I was and becoming someone else
Took years to pull me from the rubble
Sometimes it’s hard to remember their faces
Sifts away like sand sifts through the fingers
A father departed
A mother unknown
A sister's Perfection
A Grandmother’s malevolence

Virginia Frayer Poem
Hiding inside
no room to hide
not enough space to move inside
Stay out there
stay fair
always beware
You come in here thinking it will solve everything
if you just stay closed up you won't feel any pain
Your wrong you'll die in here
this place is made to operate you out there
you stay in here it will lead to despair
Go out there spread the news
you are to be sharing and bearing win or lose.
