Now This Is the Life

With a sequined glimmer afternoon sun shimmered down across the meadow.
A bright light of gold and yellow.
Theres a bright light inside of me.
This decisions tough but it's one worth deciding.
As I pass between two pines stepping onto open ground
I stop where the trail starts and I hear familiar sounds.
The emerald arms of the forest embrace me.
This is where I find serenity and safety.
I slowly study the field.
The beauty of this forest is something so real!
I cannot determine the classification of these leaves.
In every direction theres different shades of green.
Its a sight unseen.
Undetected by the human eyes.
This sort of feeling comes from deep inside.
I've got an uncanny feeling that I'm not alone.
I come across a stream that is dry as bone.
I'm repressing my fears so I can carry out my plan.
Continue moving foreward into uncharted land.
Out in the wilderness theres predators and prey.
I focus my mind and leave behind no mistakes.
It's more rewarding in the final hours.
As I stray deeper the song grows louder.
It's natures power that first lead me on this journey.
It's kind of a trip how the world is always turning.
I can make out cataracts of brilliant colors.
I take a seat on a nearby tree stump.
This expedition could last three months,
Or i could be home by midnight!

Thank You Lord

I know a masterpiece of literature. I call on my saviour.
Ask him for forgiveness for my awkward behavior.
What Im not is a traitor. One must love his neighbor.
On top of that Ive got to stay faithful!
One might say my youth was wasted on drugs and booze
but Im finally at the point where Ive come to the truth!
Thats my point of view! If you dont agree you have your own work to do.
Lets agree on one thing, Life is something!
As long as I'm here I'm gonna bring one thing.
PEACE. Ive turned 180 degrees.
When I was trapped in the dark I fell on my knees.
Trust me I still do. I lived the life of a fool, but with all that Im through.
Its a brand new day. With a grateful heart is how I choose to stay.
Its hard to find the words to say..... " I love you"
Even when Im in deep, you come through.
Hold my hand and touch my heart.
Like I said its a new day, a fresh start.
Noone can tell where my life will go
but if its his will then thats when I will know!
Its more valuable than gold.
Noones putting on a show.
Ive got a million ideas with a million different roads.
I hope you know, change is not easy. And neither are feelings.
But Ive got something to believe in! I can see again!
I can smell the trees again!
Noone said Im free of sin, but im forgiven!
Im not exactly where I want to be.
Im completely content because its where Gods got me!
I used to dream of death and wake up all alone.
Now I keep in touch with my family at home!
Now I know the fact is that Ive been reborn
the only words I have are THANK YOU LORD!

Reborn

Pain once made my brain lame, but like a song says "im trading my shame"
In return I recieve Gods Kingdom and reign.
When feeling faint, I make an attempt at Holiness.
It seems that only you can take away this lonliness.
Focus my mind, change my heart. I no longer have to play a part.
No mask on the outside, No emptiness inside.
Ive got some things to decide but theres no need to hide!
I once knew a place so dark and deep. I stayed up for weeks under a bridge i could not
leave.
Its an evil you cannot see. Now its joy that I seek. Im changing gradually.
Progress is slow but its a miracle that its happening.
Its a miracle that Im laughing!
At one time I couldnt smile. A secret double life that was built on denial.
Now when I face trial, my eyes will look like gold!
For the simple fact that im finally coming home!
There was a blue sky outside but there was tears in my eyes,
when my good friend overdosed. At 16 he died.
From then I got worse. I would use anything, even if it was dirt.
Guity conscience? How about no conscience!!
My mind was gone, I had lost it!!
As far as emotions go, I know nothing about them. I'll be damned if im not learning
though.
And self control. I need to man up and handle it so I continue to grow.
Once my story is told I pray you see hope!
There is no future in alcohol and dope!
To the bottom of a bottle, it goes quite quick.
Its pretty disgusting how I make myself sick.
But things are starting to click.
Im not running out on this even when I start to trip!
Life is worth it! With the right attitude I see things perfect. We deserve it!
A life full of love. Ive found peace that is sent from above.
I once was caught in the depths of isolation.
I still struggle with the same situation.
Life is no mystery! Its crystal clear to me!
I abandoned the fear in me and now I am free!
Anxiety is like a spirit that haunts me in my dreams.
I cried out to my God and he heard my pleas.
Honesty is honestly the hardest thing to do.
I put it in perspective, now I live by it dude!
Complacency has eaten me and beaten me.
The streets know my name by memory.
Concrete is unforgiving. I am a member of the living but society had a fear of me.
I follow good examples like the men with experience.
They show me that theyre doing it but also that theyre living it!!!!

Forever In Memory

I've got a new roll of stamps.
By sundown they will be gone.
Its a secret I never kept.
I hope your moving on.
I remember one night we were howling at the moon.
I know I got excited by the smell of your perfume.
I know of one time when we tagged up a bridge.
Both our names in one heart to prove our love would always live.
Im not depressed that we are not together.
As far as I'm concerned, friendships last forever.
