Sandcastles

When I was a young boy,
I built a castle on the beach.
I made it from sand with my shovel-toy,
Then the waves grabbed it in their reach.
They tore my castle down,
And dragged it down into the sea.
So i took my shovel and, with a frown,
Built another castle quickly.
I built it bigger and stronger
Than the ones in the past.
I thought this one would last longer,
But its walls would no longer last.
I built a moat around the last one that day,
But the waves seemed desperate to wash them all away.

What I Would Do For You

Some men would cross
A country for a woman.
I'm a little different.
For you, I'd cross every ocean.

I would cross the world,
With no care about the miles,
Just to spend one day with you
And all your pretty smiles;

As long as you would let
Me be the one to bring
Those smiles out, just like the sun
Brings out the birds to sing.

Though your friends might not like me much,
(And that's something even I can tell)
I would climb on top of Mount St. Helens
And combine its force with mine to yell

For all the world to witness,
And so everyone can hear,
About my feelings for you,
The one who I hold most dear.

I'd travel in time to Ancient Greece.
And, to be worthy to be your Hero,
I'd conquer the Arena, 'cause fighting for Love
Would mean I'm not a Zero.

If we were in a play,
I'd be Romeo, and you my Juliet.
I would fight my way to you
Through every last Capulet.

If we were in Midieval times,
I'd storm the castle with sword and shield,
And rescue you, my Princess,
With Love as the armour I wield.

So, if I'm ever across the world,
All you would have to do
Is call my name and I
Will come and be there for you.

My Aphrodite

I once had a love
Who was most beautiful to me.
I even went as far
As to call her Aphrodite.

Because she was the one
From which I learned to care.
I loved her deeply back then,
But now she is no longer there.

Though I still have much to learn,
Since I am a mortal man,
She showed me I can do anything
If I truly believe I can.

Just like ancient Greeks of old,
My Aphrodite made me feel like a Hero,
And, just like Hercules, she told
Me, I am no longer a Zero.

I am grateful to have asked
Her to be with me.
And now that she is back in the Heavens,
She is now truly my Aphrodite.

My Darkest Dream

I go to bed an close my eyes;
That is when my imagination flies.

I dream of family and friends,
Then I see their ends.

Darkness drowned the light,
And I lost the will to fight.

Darkness walked,
And Fear talked.

In Darkness, I did drown
While Fear held me down.

In Darkness, I had a path to choose,
But what would I gain? What would I lose?

Every feeling of Hope
Was taken and bound with black rope.

Kindness and love were no longer there,
And could not be found anywhere.

I tried to open my eyes, but could not see,
Because Darkness had a hold of me.

I tried to scream and scream,
Trying to wake from this evil dream.

I prayed and prayed. I prayed with all my heart,
And finally the Darkness began to part.

My soul, with joy, does scream,
Because I have waken from my darkest dream.

My Sister's Nineteenth Birthday

Happy nineteenth birthday.
You're one year older now.
I know what you want for dinner.
Is it macaroni salad and a cow? (hamburger)

My big sister is almost through
Her seven teenage years.
If you were to celebrate,
I think you would say, "Cheers!"

I know you have a boyfriend,
From work, or so I'm told.
I hope you will be happy til the end,
Or at least til you're both old.

So, once more, I want to say
To my big sister, "Happy Birthday!"

Fatal Flaws

A fatal flaw is something
That is part of personality.
It's something that eventually
Destroys a person ultimately.

Everybody has
A fatal flaw.
For some it is freedom,
For others it's the law.

For some it is
Their darkest fears,
Like heights or growing old
And outnumbering friends in years.

Many men and women
Do not know the thing
That is their fatal flaw
Which will, to them, destruction bring;

Destruction that
May be physical,
Or just as well
Might be emotional.

Physical destruction
Is things like broken bones and death;
Emotional destruction
Is things like breathing Eternal Sorrow's breath.

Unlike most others,
I know my fatal flaw.
It isntpride or pain,
And isnt grudges or even problems with the law.

My fatal flaw is not
Common amoung those of villainy.
My fatal flaw
Is personal loyalty.

Which means I would sacrifice
Anything to save a friend,
Even if it would mean
I would have to meet my end.

My Worst Goodbye

We watched the sunset one day
On the porch, filled with bliss.
Driven by love, I leaned in,
And we shared a kiss.

I looked and stared
Into her deep brown eyes,
And we promised not to tell
Each other any lies.

She started to cry and asked
How long I will love her.
I said I always have,
And that I would love her forever.

Her tears continued falling
No matter what I did try.
She looked into my eyes
And told me goodbye.

I asked her what she meant.
She replied she had to move;
She said she would love me forever
As long as I'm here to love.

We spent our last night
In each other's arms
On a hilltop under the stars
Until the roosters raised their alarms.

She pulled me close,
And I held her tight.
Our last walk home was hard,
Because Despair's full strength we had to fight.

When we arrived
At our parting place,
I took her hand in mine, and wiped
The fresh tears from her face.

She said she love me,
And, without a hint of bliss,
I said I loved her too,
And we shared our final kiss.

She Was

She was the light
That guided me through the storm;
That chased away my darkest fears
That, around my mind, swarm.

She was the lifeline
That was thrown to me
When my life went overboard
Into Sorrow's drowning sea.

She was the breath
That filled my lungs with air.
When I needed to talk,
She was always there.

She was the sight
That led me back to shore
When I could no longer fight my sorrow
Because I could take no more.

She gave me the courage
To fight Life's relentless rain,
To keep on moving forward
No matter how strong the pain.

She was the cure
To my disease called "Sorrow,"
And had given me the will
To live to see tomorrow.

She was the ship
That came to my rescue
When I was drowning in my Sea of Sorrow
And didn't know what to do.

She was the wind
That blew the storms away,
And brought out the sunny skies
That brighten up my day.

She was the thought
To wheich I turned
To calm me down when overwhelmed
Whenever Anger's fires burned.

She was the Huntress
That saved me when I had to fight
The raging wolves inside my mind
That tear me apart at night.

My Angel

I feel like I just met you
The other day,
But its hard to control myself
When I'm feeling this way.

I see you and feel
Like leaping with joy,
Kind of like a boy on Chritmas
Opening a brand new toy.

When I see you
Smiling at me,
My heart fills
With ecstacy.

I had given up all hope
Of, once more, feeling like this.
I thought I would never again
Be filled with bliss.

People always talk
About Angels that save them
From doing something stupid
And causing mayhem.

I think it's only fair
To tell you of mine:
She is a blessing from Above,
An Angel divine.

This beautiful woman
Is one I met just recently,
And long for her
To agree to be with me.

You are my Angel
That saves me from Sorrow,
And makes me feel anxious
To wake up tomorrow;

And every night before I sleep,
My thoughts always turn to you,
And I often wonder
If you feel the same about me, too.

Im sorry if I sound
Too forward with you,
But i want you to know
That you are my Angel.

Who Will Be Next

The darkness of Death
Steals life with an intake of its breath.

We hate this evil foe,
But all we can do is lay low,

Wondering if we will be the next
To enter the "Book of the Dead's" text.

We can do nothing but wait
To meet our deadly fate.

Who will be the next to enter Death's embrace?
Who will be the next to see God's face?
