Round and Round I Go

Round and round I go
through a vicious circle of life,
round and round it goes,
cutting me like a knife.

Never growing or moving on,
always staying the same,
frantically searching
for someplace to hide the blame.

Trapped down deeply inside me
lives a lifetime of pain,
wrapped up tightly
by a towering wall of shame.

You won't ever see me
when I start to bleed,
because a long time ago
I was forced to hide that need.

It was way back then
someone first planted the seed,
and as years passed
its vines consume me like a weed.

You may hear me cry
sometimes perhaps even out loud,
but still the truths are shrouded
by deep and darkened clouds.

At times I may try to reach out
for a hand among the crowd,
but my feelings overwhelm me
and I feel that I'm not allowed.

Someday I may have an awakening
when even my soul will rebel,
and I can begin to fight
and break through this hardened shell.

For now I'm only able to survive
and with each moment I can tell,
if I get to live or die
and awake from this living hell.

Round and round I go
through the vicious circle of life
round and round it goes,
still cutting me like a knife.

Man In the Mirror

The man in the mirror, He's not me.
That man in the mirror, He's who I should be.
He does not feel my pain, but then, how could he?
He cannot wear my shame, and then, why should he?

The man in the mirror, He's not me.
That man in the mirror, He's who I should be.
He stands with confidence so everyone can see.
He looks so sure, so strong; not weak like me.

The man in the mirror, He's not me.
That man in the mirror, He's who I should be.
When the man in the mirror is looking at me,
I wonder... Who does he see?

Autumn

Beneath cream colored beams
countless rusted blossoms hang
mourning yesterdays sun.

Here I Am Lord

Here I am again Lord...
searching for right words to say.
True to you, true to me...
which will it be today?

Giving you my all should be easy
after all you've gone through.
Holding back is all I've ever known
after all I have had to go through

Trust in you seems impossible.
Trust in me even harder.
For you I've never seen or touched,
and for me at times it doesn't seem to matter.

I want to believe when you promise,
"You'll get me through the day.
I want to soar up on "eagles wings",
or at least feel changed in the slightest way.

I want to learn love the way you do!
To awake, open my eyes and see something new.
I want to let others love me the same way to!
Too awake, open my eyes and see a different view.
Show me what I'm missing Lord
I'm living day to day!
Is there really a purpose or all a cruel joke?
Lord I beg you; tell me what you're trying to say.

So, here I am again Lord...
searching for right words to say.
True to you, true to me...
How will it be different today

Life In the Crapper

I hide my shame where no one can see.
And know that they could not understand me.

I wear my guilt behind closed doors.
And hope they will never find me.

I purge the torment out of my mind.
And pray that that's what will help free me.

Look in the mirror, I see myself.
But the image there only cheats me.

I try to cleanse myself of these thoughts.
But somehow it always defeats me.

So, it's back to the crapper Joe goes!
The only place I know to relieve me.

Endless Is Time

Seasons blend together,
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
Endless time forever,
I feel no change at all...

Truly... Being There

And... in the good times and the bad,
for richer and poorer
and... in sickness and in health
until death do we part...

Mere utterance in a moments passion
for what could possibly go wrong.
Why we're in sync with so much in common,
Duh! We even share the same song.

I'm home from work, no time to eat.
Visiting hours six to eight.
What do I bring, how do I look?
Oh, hurry Pam you don't want to be late.

Shock Treatment No!!!
No... he doesn't remember yesturday.
In fact,
He can't remember a lot of yesturdays.

I'm home from work, no time to eat.
Visiting hours six to eight.
What do I bring, how do I look?
Oh, hurry Pam you don't want to be late.

You'll be fine at home!!!
We'll get by.
I'll just stack those bills...
until they reach the sky.

I'm home from work, no time to eat.
Visiting hours six to eight.
What do I bring, how do I look?
Oh, hurry Pam you don't want to be late.

Another treatment, a brand new pill;
like an angel of God she come down from above.
You promised to stay; I believe you will.
thank you for being there, thank you for your love.

Barren

Darkness steals away the light of day.
The trees stripped of their cover
stand in skeletal remains.
Crisp cold breezes bear the pains
of the dead and weakened souls.

Autumn

Winds blow on darkened nights.
Frost covered landscapes emerge;
colder times to come.

Colors woven everywhere,
brightly painting the canvas.
