Aejaz Zafar Poem
Man needs many things in life:
Food, house, children and wife;
But the thing which is needed the most
And could be given away at no cost
Is man’s independence and freedom
N’ over him his own heart’s kingdom.
Freedom of just body is not all;
One needs also freedom of soul.
But that too doesn’t suffice at all,
Nor that’s the man’s life’s goal;
To make good countries and kingdoms,
There are needed likewise many freedoms:
Freedom from the shackles of ignorance,
Freedom from unwelcome interference,
Freedom from narrow-mindedness,
Freedom from black-heartedness
Freedom from the chains of illiteracy,
Freedom from egoism and hypocrisy,
Freedom from darkness of minds,
Freedom from hatred’s winds.
Take these points for God’s sake
Get up my nation! Get awake!

Aejaz Zafar Poem
Where have you my love gone
Leaving myself so alone?
There are some things with me,
Being to you still unknown.
Every beat of my heart
Comes taking just your name
It seems ages since I last
Saw you and last you came.
No smile’s touched my lips
Since you’ve my love gone!
My eyes rain and rain.
My heart burns with pain.
My soul keeps in sobs.
My mind shackled in your memory’s chain.
Come bless my eyes with your sight,
Or else, from the world I’m gone!
You enjoy the company of others
And the garden of my heart withers.
You’ve made my life a sorrow,
Wherein no happy event occurs.
You promise to meet and forget
And I keep waiting alone!
In the deep still of night
When all is off my sight,
In the mirror of my mind you peep
And into my dreams creep,
And when in the surprise of happiness,
I stretch my arms, you are gone!
When you are away my pretty doll,
I’m just as a body without soul,
As a fish out of water
As a bird with no shelter,
N’ the life-journey seems as walking
Over thorns, with my feet fully torn.
I, in the imprisonment of loneliness,
Shackled in the chain of your promises,
Let my gloomy eyes stare
Far in the sky for roses,
The roses of your lips,
Smiling to me in the morn.
When the whole universe is asleep,
My thirsty eyes are awake.
The blood of the injuries of feelings
Flows and flows as a lake.
Come and see how is your lovelorn.
I’m waiting for you all alone!

Aejaz Zafar Poem
I’m fed up with this nasty life
Which is just a series of sorrows,
Which has no happy yesterdays
And no hopeful morrows.
There’s cure for a man who gets
Injured with swords or arrows,
But nothing can cure the poor man
Who falls victim to your eye’s arrows!
For, sharper are the arrows of your eyes
N’ matchless are the bows of your brows!
Your hair puts clouds to shame!
Your lips beat the rose!
Your smile is quite a lightning!
Your face like moon glows!
You say you'll bless me tomorrow.
My dear! Never come tomorrows!
My heart is so much grief-stricken
That I only know or God knows.
Though sometimes I’m seen smiling
And some times my face glows,
But the tide of tears that keeps
Rising in my heart, none knows!
May God grant that it never happens
That two lovers ever turn onto foes!!!

Aejaz Zafar Poem
Pride of the nations is he who considers
All peoples of the world as sisters and brothers;
Keeps always ready to help the poor and weak;
Illuminates their lives, regardless of Latin or Greek;
Sacrifices for them, and for their welfare stands;
Tries all his means to save them and holds their hands
And lets not the flood of tears occupy their land,
Nor lets it turn the habitations of their hopes into sand!!!

Aejaz Zafar Poem
Hello my love! Hello! Hi!
Why art thou crossed with me? Why?
Read the book of my heart on thy own
For I am so simple and shy.
Every night when I go to bed,
I collapse on the bed and lie,
And get lost in the memory of thee
And my imagination starts to fly
N’ there appears the moon of thy face,
Moving on my imagination’s sky.
I try to get thee and embrace
And burst into a joyful cry!
But, alas! Thou art no more found
When all around me I eye.
If thou ask “who loves me most?”
Every beat of my heart will reply,
“O’ the queen of spring, soul of flowers,
It is I! It is I! It is I”!
The more n’ more thou come to my mind,
To forget thee the more I try.
But, oh! It makes no difference to thee,
If I’m gonna die, I should die!
I wait and wait and wait,
And thou come like a flash and fly!
My soul goes away with thee,
When thou bid me goodbye!
I’ve taken too much of thy time,
Let me now leave. Goodbye!

Aejaz Zafar Poem
Once I went to a very wise man
– Of whom, I’d been for a long a fan –
Complaining daily attacks, clashes n’ bloodshed,
N’ said, “I’m with it totally up-fed”.
But the wise man gave me such a wise reply
That there opened before my eyes a new sky.
He said, “Dear! Mercy on bloodthirsty predicators
Is a callus cruelty to all weak creatures!

Aejaz Zafar Poem
Take away bloody fools, Gracious God!
Relieve us of our sins’ heavy load!
Take away the blood-thirsty wolves
That are borne in the shapes of humans,
Conspiring against the Adam-born
To destroy the world peace, like Satans.
Take away fools, the fire-belching dragons
N’ bring forth, instead, those that be wise,
Who can turn today’s hell-like world
Into a happy, peaceful paradise,
Where there all be happy n’ unworried,
N’ having with each other good ties,
Where there are no suicide attacks
And no warplane flies,
Where there no Eve-daughter is ravished
And no oppressed cries,
N’ where for hateful sounds of blasts,
There are sweet songs of love,
N’ where there all are free and equal:
Crow, crane, kite and dove.

Aejaz Zafar Poem
I've been around the world and seen
Whom people call "beauty-queen"
But none could be compared to you
O' my love, my queen!
Your beauty is quite matchless;
None like you has ever been!
My eyes keep just raining
Since your face they've seen.
You met now when became other's!
Where so far have you been?!
See how your love has turned me -
Bony, skinny and lean!
Let me have a day taste of life
You know well what I mean.
Give me your hand, for I am
The truest lover that has ever been

Aejaz Zafar Poem
One day some mad started throwing stones
Onto a wise man, regardless of its pros and cons.
The wise man neither shouted, nor abused,
Nor, any stone he himself used;
Rather, he move fast, raising himself higher
Until he went beyond the stones’ reach and power,
And said, “The solution is not to fight,
Rather, one should raise oneself to due height.

Aejaz Zafar Poem
The first day that across thee I came,
The detainee of thy love I became.
I know thou art beyond my reach
N’ over thee someone else hath claim;
But what shall I do of this nasty heart
Who reiterates just thy name!
My destruction, my ruin, all is mine;
Thou art not at all to blame.
Over my lips there plays a smile,
But in my heart there rises a flame!
If I’m not blessed with thy company,
Then for me, joy and sorrow are the same!
For separation is – as it seems – my fate,
I’ve set thy picture in my hearts’ frame.
I love you! I love you! I love you!
I declare it with no fear or shame!
