Marianna Burns Poem
Gentle fingers brush my face
Followed by a loving embrace
Soft kisses caress my lips
As my self restraint soon slips
Following my clothing to the floor
At the nervous expectations
Of your initiations
My body no longer standing
Your actions becoming more demanding
Touching and taunting
Each sensation haunting
Causing my limbs to quiver
As even you begin to shiver
Soon spreading open my legs
For the part of you that begs
Gasping at the firm heat
My fingers grip the sheet
Your muscles growing tight
As the sensations reach their height
Creating verbal elations
Of our passionate demonstrations
Through which time stops
As the weight of your body drops
Making us flesh to flesh
A sweaty sighing mesh
Leaving only our eyes to meet
The event so complete
While you whisper in my ear
Words of love so sincere
That finally we fall to rest
Your arms around me, my head on your chest

Marianna Burns Poem
Thank you for your unanimous praise
Complete and unchanging throughout the days
Your smile shining above me like the sun
Knowing my life has just begun
No matter what your love is true
Even with the stupid things I do
Congenial and kind
With love eternally blind
Teaching me honesty and morality
Never giving a technicality
Surrounding me in safety
But never trying to restrain me
I’m glad you are who you are
And not some far off star
You are my mother
There is no other

Marianna Burns Poem
Beautiful people turn ugly in end
Once glowing hearts that grow tarnished and old
An inner light no longer their eyes send
Ther once kind soul to the devil is sold
My eyes weeping to watch the horrid cost
To see them turn away from a dear friend
Does anyone see what has been lost
Beautiful people turn ugly in end
Like fog their goodness slowly disappears
Will this blackened wound ever really mend
Turning ugly with help from inner fears
Beautiful people turn ugly in end
Old hobbies change to stabbing in the back
Their only intentions are to offend
While passing by their appearence refracts
Beautiful peopl turn ugly in end
So now I will bid goodbye to a past friend
Beautiful people turn ugly in end

Marianna Burns Poem
Baby bliss
An angel’s kiss
Laughter like bells
Oh the joy it tells
Of the blessed life
With out pain or strife
Oh baby of mine
How your eyes do shine
While you set my heart a glow
With more love then I can show
Your silly grace
And infant face
Bringing joy to my day
In my heart you will stay
Oh baby of my
How you do shine

Marianna Burns Poem
Rosebud, rosebud soft and sweet
Why were you created for this world to meet
with no one to love or care for you
Only to greet the mornings dew
Before the sun before the light
Only to awake during late night
You of love the world of hate
What can be your fate
But your creator has not failed
He gave you so gentle an armour of thorn
To protect you from sadness and mourn
but how can he protect you from age
He can not put you in a cage
For no one can be protected from that
Soon age will come and you shall fade from memory and that will be that.
Yet how can anyone forget your lovely face
Would be a sad and different place
But times change and years pass
Faded forever more into the grass

Marianna Burns Poem
My heart was shiny and new once
Frail but rigid ever vigilant
Catching the light and casting warmth in it’s wake
But as time went on fractures and fissures appeared
Slowly giving way to chips and nicks
Still my heart held on keeping true to form
Remaining solid in times of weakness
Taking every bump and drop with stride
Yet with every drop and knock a little piece gives way
Not noticeable at first
Collecting silently in the bottom of my chest
No glue to bind them back into form
To make what is falling apart whole again
The flaws and damage finally taking their toll
Collapsing the once brilliant heart
Into a pile of shards
Twinkling here and there
A little glimmer of what once was whole

Marianna Burns Poem
Like the waves leaving
I lay grieving
Only to know it is time
An everlasting climb
Reaching the summit
Praying I won’t plummet
Leaving loved ones behind
Tears beginning to blind
The unchanging forward gaze
Onward to future days
Where life is new
“To thine own self be true”

Marianna Burns Poem
I hate
I cry
I live
I die
You run
You hide
You lie
You deny
These statements swirl in my head like a whirl pool
Sucking me into an abyss of self-loathing
Only to drown me into nothing
You sleep
You survive
You continue
You try
I sink
I scream
I drown
I sigh

Marianna Burns Poem
Your bright eyes of old
A story to be told
Containing memories of youth
With some embellished truth
You have been strong
For so very long
A life of perfection
With unchanged direction
Your words guide me well
In all that you tell
But no answers for sale
Allowing me to fail
So I may learn
From you in turn
To remember what I do
And pass it onto someone new

Marianna Burns Poem
I must bid you a sad goodbye
And with your deep eyes you say
“But why?”
Because my heart is dying
Again with your eyes crying
“But why?”
So I bend upon a weak knee
Breathing deeply to answer your plea
I love you, that is why
I love your eyes, your embrace, the curvature of your face
That is why
Still you do not understand
Once more with an open hand
“But why?”
Now with a tear in my eye
Because you do not love me
Do you not see
You shake your head
Not understanding a word I have said
One last time, one last moment
To explain what I have meant
On both knees this time to hear my please
Your heart is in her hands
In mine it falls like time’s sands
You run to her embrace
In mine there is no trace
Now do you comprehend
That is why I am no friend
