No Regret.

My heart will keep on beating,
my lungs will fill with air.
I'm not going to spend the rest of my life,
wishing you were there.

He Says/ She Says

They sit on the porch swing.
No words are said.
He just looks to his right,
and sees his first love staring back at him.
She lowers her head,
Eyes filled with tears,
Breaks the silence..
'This growing up stuff isn't fair'
He says;
'I don't really want to go,I don't want to leave this here unfinished'
[So that's why you're going to break my heart] she thinks.
He plants a kiss on her forehead.
And says, 'this is what I've gotta do'
"I understand" she said.
..knowing he could see right through..
Her smile, and the unsure laugh.
So he wraps his arms around her tight.
Tries to take away the pain.
But that'll never happen.
She doesn't want to be alone.
But he needs to be.
She doesn't want to give up.
but he does.
she says goodbye, doesn't let him see her cry.
all the while, she's falling apart.
she walks away, and doesn't look back.
knowing he's doing the same.
for the last time.
she waits.
she goes home.
she sits alone.
and breaksdown.
he flys.
across the world.
he lives.
he loves.
he leaves.

These days I seem all mixed up
My ducks aren’t in a row.
Like peanut butter without jelly.
Like summer paired with snow.

In my world up is down.
Left and right are all the same.
Math is art, Art is science,
and I don’t know who to blame.

In this place, it seems so strange,
the sky is green, the grass is blue.
Everything is backwards.
I just don’t know what to do.

A very happy unbirthday to me.
I turned minus 1 from twenty-three.
Childhood is about to unstart.
Look out world, here I be.

Cancer.

Today’s a day, I’m standing tall.
I will not waver from my stance.
I will not lose myself in the crowd,
Or give in to your demeaning glance.

No, today I am standing my ground.
I believe I will succeed.
I don’t care what you think of me.
Someday you’ll take my lead.

Today I’m standing up to you.
For all the lives you’ve brought to an end.
For what you did to my uncle,
my grandma, and my friend.

You took away their life, their pride.
You left precaution at the door.
Just when we thought you were done taking,
You’d come back, and take some more.

I think you have done more than enough,
That, I know for sure.
Next time, I’ll beat you to the punch.
Someday, we’ll find the cure.

Give It Back, Or Give It Away.

Love tears apart the best of us.
It's not a matter for the strong or the weak.
It's a matter of trust.
It's a matter of telling someone you are
at the mercy of a feeling.
Telling someone they have a piece of your heart,
that they will probably take with them,
no matter where they go, or who they meet.
No matter how hard you try
to give back or give it away.

Heaven.

Don’t weep along side my grave, as I am no longer there.
My body rests close underneath, but my spirit’s everywhere.

Don’t weep along side my grave, as I’m those that we love.
They came to take me from this earth, for the journey to above.

You’d love it here, it’s magical. I’m healthy and I’m free.
I walk without so much pain, and cancer’s let me be.

I miss you, and it pained me to go. I left regretfully.
But now I dance until my hearts content, and my heart keeps up with me.

I have been rid of my heartache, all my pain and all my sorrow.
Now I know your grandpa will be part of my every tomorrow.

There are no bugs in my garden here, it’s plentiful and thrives.
In this magical heaven, my body and soul feel alive.

So please.
Don’t weep along side my grave, although I know it may be hard not to do.
I’m content and have been blessed & I'm always watching over you.

Break.

Glistening tear falls.
In the silence, a heart breaks.
The sound goodbye makes.

First Love,Free Of

*I've read so many amazing poems since my return to Poetry Soup. I've been inspired to try more structured poetry, and explore different types. Here's my first try at a footle.*

Adore
Need more

--Part not
--Heart caught

Time spent
Love lent

--Touch soul
--Feel whole

Wonder lust
No trust.

--Don't go
--Tears flow

You leave
I plead.

--Love lost
--The cost

Awoke
Heart Broke

--I Cry
--Goodbye

First love
Free of.

Days End.

Moonbeams, floating
Cool breeze, flowing
Clear skies, glowing
Daily duties, slowing.

Quiet

Quiet of the day.
Solitary confinement.
Peace or punishment?
