Dreaming

Dreaming, a safe place to go.
Nothing's impossible.
They all seem to flow.
In your head, a little show.

Out of reality is the best place for me,
I can do anything,
and don't have to see.
It's like a treasure without a key.

I wish some were real,
and that some would never leave.
I've dreamed of a seal,
and I can't get hurt, I always heal.

It's the imagination
of my unconscious mind.
In my head a presentation.
It gives many temptations.

Some things will never happen.
Some I hope just might,
a better place to nap in,
the football team captain.

Then I awake,
Dazed and confused.
Then upset the dreams were fake,
I go back to sleep and dream I'll never wake.

Oh, Science

Oh science, unforgiving in its might,
Hast found its words in the mouths of many.
Stopping people, as they seem to take flight.
Halting those whose minds imagine plenty.
I ask those who hone science as an art,
Why must you crush our dreams and desires?
For we and our dreams, we never shall part.
You would not know a dream from a wire.
As you prove to some, God does not exist.
You do not see all their hope torn to shreds.
Heads down faces low, their life gone amiss.
It’s amazing how you hold up your head.
Science, I ask you to tread from my place,
So that I may still show dreams on my face.

Morning Song

Shall I compare thee to a singing bird?
Your song is more beautiful and light,
Gorgeous voice speaking with soft-spoken word,
Is the way one should wake into the bright.
The light of the day is welcomed in song,
All the while night waits for the sun’s rise,
And to wait for this seems all way too long,
Although it’s worth it when I hear the prize.
As beautiful songs are sung in the air,
Your voice welcomes the light of the new day,
The tone rings through the dull space with no care,
The voice that nothing can ever replay.
The voice that’s more beautiful than a bird’s,
is unimaginable until heard.

Marks

You have marked me for life
pain unforgiving
It brings pain to merely recite
The story unbearable, always living.

Never leaving, I see your face
These are just the start of the marks
It’s like getting hit with a mace,
Or getting bit by a Great White shark.

You’ve caused me pain
You’ve caused me misery
I feel so lame
While you are so busy.

You bring upon memories
Some good, some bad
We had such good chemistry
Since I was a mere lad.

Marks, never leaving
None have relief
I spent much time grieving
I’ve fell from high much faster than a leaf.

I will give up many to forget about you,
Yet you always come back to center stage
In my crowded mind, not in the mood
I am still amazed by your beautiful face.

Prayer For Haiti

My prayers go out to the people of Haiti.
All the sons, and daughters,
The moms, fathers, sisters and brothers.
I pray for you like no other.

This disaster has stricken
out of from under.
Many lost, many mourned for.
Under the ruble city floor.

Please God, rescue these people.
Save them from these quakes.
Please God, I have faith
that you will save them with much haste.

I continue to pray for the people of Haiti,
stricken with grief.
Those without a home,
and those buried in stone.

Dear Mother

Dear mother, I would not be
without your loving care for me.
This I know i do not say,
but I will tell you anyway.

My mother who gave me life,
is the one who's love's so bright.
My mother I'd like to tell,
I thank and love you as well.

Now, I'd like to say I'm sorry,
for disobeying even if it was hardly.
Please, mother please forgive me,
for being so rude to thee.

I love you, with all my heart,
and hope that you will not depart.
No matter what i will say,
know that I love you anyway.

Why War, Why Not Peace?

Why are we in war?
Is there anything it is good for?
If there is please tell me,
because in war life is the fee.
We need to stop, this is my plea.

Is oil worth a war?
Because that’s what we’re fighting for.
A life of war and fear,
is upsetting, that is clear.
In this world every mother’s face with a tear

This war was a bad decision.
We had no clear mission,
Pointless fighting in the Middle East.
Why war, why not peace,
is an important question to say the least.

Family

Family is close.
They're the ones I love the most.
Nothing breaks our bond.
For each other we are very fond.

We stay in touch, no matter how far.
On a bus, a boat, or a car.
We'll always be together.
My aunt won't leave, we won't let her.

I have a large family, too many to count.
When we come together we all are about.
We all sit down to eat at family gatherings,
a very happy time, no emotions shattering.

We're scatted across the U.S.
We keep in touch, it's never a mess.
We spend as much time together as we can
Every one of us, woman, child, and man.

Family is the most vital love.
As beautiful as a dove.
In the end they'll all you have left
after you're in jail for theft.

Boxing

Boxing, a brutal, bloody, painful sport.
This is my life.
I don't spend my life on a tennis court,
I'd rather be in a boxing ring than have that as my life.

Boxing is a game of skill,
to others it's a silly blood bath.
I just love going in for the kill,
then they lay there and I laugh.

Boxing is my crack
I can't stay away.
It always brings me back,
always ready to play.

The ring is my garden
It is my sanctuary.
It gives no one pardon,
In November, December, or January.

Blood, sweat, and tears
goes into the game.
No more fears,
no more shame.

Desire

For you my love, I've a great desire.
Like a kindling forest fire.

Do you feel the same way i feel for you?
Please say yes, say that it's true.

I have deep feelings for you,
yet you eat them and continue to chew.

You know how I feel,
but still shocked me like an eel.

Nothing can stop my burning desire,
It will never grow old or tired.

Though in time you have eased up,
It's just the start of my luck.

I see your eyes now when you see me,
I see the desire, your full of glee.

Now your mine, you see how I feel.
The shock is gone from the eel.

Now that I'm happy and you are too.
We can live peacefully, just me and you.
