Trials

Life is full of trials and pain, yet with each one strength is gained.
Character is not built from ease, but from hard things like death and disease.
This I've learned in my life, to have peace even in strife!

The Pirates Love

Out on the shore he looked away, drawn by the oceans crashing waves; out on the shore her
heart it broke, as she watched him stop to smoke.

They knew that ties of love would sever, that he would go away forever; ne’er to return to
this shore, ne’er to see her, his love, anymore.

And so the sloop the pirate boarded, where all his treasure he had hoarded; away he sailed
to far new lands, to take from others with his hands.

Though he seemed so heartless and cruel, even he had loved a girl; and on a shore so far
away, they hanged the pirate there today.

She heard the news, her heart it wept, and so she plunged into the depth; her body found
broken and maimed, death the choice she had claimed.

Aquarius and Leo

You are Aquarius, I, Leo the lioness; you are wind and I am fire.

You blow on me, causing an inferno between us; a wild trembling deep
in the soul.

You are my husband, I, your wife; for three years those flames have raged,
let them burn on, burn on, out of control!

(To my husband)
I love you, even though our horoscopes say we shouldn't be together. That
just goes to show you the freaks we are! lol

Purple

The color purple;
vivid brush strokes full of life
leaping onto the canvas.

Why?

Why so much death and destruction? Why the pain in our human race? Why must we hear of
these disasters, that on our earth are taking place?

This is dedicated to all of those who live in Haiti and to the families of those who were
lost in the tragic earthquake over there!

Missy Lou

When we found you at the pound,
your eyes showed your despair,
all the others jumped around,
but not you, you just laid there.

dull chocolate coat, and painfully skinny,
you didn't even lift your head,
I watched you sadly, just a pup,
yet you seemed so grown up.

Half Lab, half Whippet, who could imagine such a dog,
we brought you home, lean and scared,
but soon to us your soul you bared,
your antics always make us all laugh,
you've long forgotten your dreadful past.

Your so full of life and vigor,
so very different than what we imagined,
our lives will never be the same,
you came and livened up our game.

Thank you Missy Lou, for being in our life,
soon you will be two, and we sure do love you,
you make our day brighter than sunshine,
and at night, when your day's play is done,
all your toys are put away.

By my side you lay, sleeping so gently,
as I stroke your silky coat,
sometimes you open a honey colored eye,
and look up at me contented, and then give out a little sigh.

Dedicated to our wonderful dog Missy Lou
who we adopted from the local animal shelter
in March, 2009. She didn't turn out to be what we
thought we wanted, but she turned out to be just
what we needed in our life. She is truly a ball of energy!
We love her!

Healing

Cycles of life, humanity;
God reaches down with strong hands
touching illnesses of our bodies and souls.

Me

Although I don't write in the deepest of fashion,
I try to relay my thoughts and my passion.

I try to help others to see through my eyes,
Perhaps if they would, they would be quite surprised!

There they will find a heart that is true,
Nothing phony, superfluous, or crude.

There they might find they have a true friend,
someone who is trustworthy until the very end!

Moonlit Night With My Love

The moon was bright as ever, I took my husband’s hand, I led him to the park, and we
stopped to play in the sand.

Long his memory faded, like a child was he, I watched as in wonder, he stopped and laughed
at me.

I took his hand once more and took him on our way, but he began to shout, he wanted to
stay and play.

I told him that I loved him; he said he loved me too, and in that tiny moment, I felt him
shining through.

Once again it faded, and once again gone, I took his hand, my husband, and led him back home.

The Alzheimer’s he experienced was eating at his mind, but nothing in this world, could
force me to resign.

In a Hurry

I'm in a hurry I cannot stay, it seems the time just slips away.
I try so hard to get things done, no time to do it all under the sun.
Deadlines here and deadlines there, so many deadlines everywhere!
I have to work, no time to play, just to get things done today!
