When Is a Lie?

What is a lie, a mask, a disguise
A different direction in the blink of an eye
A welcome escape from the darkness that hangs,
Like a cloud in the mind, a wolves sharpened fangs

A moment forever etched in the air
A dove with wings clipped, free to explore
A lovers last words lost in the wind
A perfect guitar with one broken string

A thinly veiled blanket in front of a bull
A pathetic example of fool playing fool
A weakness of structure, A new source of strength
A pulling together, while held at arms length

A desperate utterance,
A moment of despair
An acceptance
A pleading
A hope of repair

What is a lie,
Love or abuse
Can a lie go on lying
Without becoming the truth

Happiness?

it takes a mind to write a poem
sometimes more than one

searching for hours,

looking for accolades, from maybe another time

a pat on the back, things will be fine

nothing looks better now

than

that

bottle

of

wine.

Hoping For a Shadow In the Sun

If there´s ever been one there´s been two
Because one cannot have that view
The water still falls
When eyes lose control
And the sun always slips out of view

If there´s ever been one there´s been two
A roman a catholic a jew
A pungent romance
A muslims ignorance
A nazis romance, their beautifull dance
The sun always slips out of view

If there is only one that is true
Then the reason remains askew
If his only dance
Is placing the lance
And hoping to make his way through
Then a laugh is a cry
A gleefull reprise
An escape from the fortune
Contemplated abortion
A hope that the sun shines out of view

When the one and the one are now two
The reasons that pushed, pull them through
the sun opens its eyes
looks for truth it despised
And searches for the sky it once knew

It only takes one to make two
A wing, a prayer and a shoe
A beautifull emblem
A time for remembrance
What it takes to kill one it takes two

Chariots

the flesh and bones in which we live
are chariots we cant forgive
vessels filled with hated truth
a driving lie to keep us couth
with every drop and every drink
the apple drops and we do sink
the hook it draws and drags and drops
and birds like new winds build a nest
and rest
and insects rage within their cages
people cry and make mistakes again
and then
a new wind blows
and will again
and chariots are gone

The Look That Pulls Us In

one smile, was all it took for time to stop
A fractured frown, skin on bone, halted every clock
reasons, melt away like ice, disappear like noiseless sounds
further proof of something washing through, filling every crack inside the mind

with silky, sickening, suffocating style
the eyes lock on
become one, twisting through the emptieness, searching in the darkness
overpowering the last defences
the night is young

breathing stops, a gentle touch
like lightning burning skin
golden drops of bright sunshine, blinding every sin
senses grate and taste of wine, pulses bursting through
moonlit shadows on the fire, have yet to be subdued

sharp air fills the lungs,
tempers flair and mask despair
fervored, panicked, desparate eyes, searching for a truth
calming eyes and twisted lies, deliver like a noose

endless days slip away
twilight creeps within
Its often said, our beds been made
but its the look that pulls us in.

Does It Help What We Know?

I open up the cigarette packet
Take one out
Light it up and inhale
Its killing me, i know
I know it is

I open up the new bottle
Pour a glass
Two ice cubes and a gulp
Its killing me, i know
I know it is

I open up the wrap
One small pill
Maybe two for luck
They kill me, i know
I know they do

I open up my heart
I get no further
Its killing me
I know
I know it is

I think of you
Are you killing me
I will never know
