Desperation

my generation
is in need of a desperation
a new kind
these days it’s not easy to find

an utter loss of hope
something from which you cannot cope
from which you can’t escape
where can you turn, when all your “heroes” throw down their capes?

desperation
like a fish out of water
choking on air
we breathe it everyday, but how much do we truly care
does it even matter?
can we even sense the urgency?
desperation
come on now wake up it’s an emergency

an utter loss of hope
if you could feel it, could you cope?
alone
and on your own

this desperation is a ravishing hunger
one we recognize when we can’t take it any longer
come wake up, open your eyes, can you now see the situation is dire
desperation
the kind we need in this generation
my generation, is in need of desperation

but hold on now, aren’t we the invicibles
young and full of life
nothing can touch us right
so we take off, we’re in flight
Oh we’re good,so good
we’re so good at at concealing all of our insecurities their almost invisible
behind this facade, lay our secret pains and strife
we’re really paperthin chameleons
a different color for everytime we feel threatened
fragile , at any sign of emotion
can’t you sense the desperation

a lost cause
devoured by desperation
blinded, by questions
where do we go from here?
overwhelmed by out mistakes, we’ve abandoned learned lessons
but it’s so clear
we can’t see it
blinded by our dreams, hopes, and fears

desperation
look behind all the fog of misinterpretation
lets get over what he said or she said
please open your eyes
desperation
and behold the beauty
desperation
now that you can see it clearly
drop your arms and defenses
and get past all false pretenses
be vulnerable
for there’s one who won’t drop in you in his arms
so be desperatley, desperate, in despartation
he’s the one who’s already bought the youth of this nation
so all you others beware cuz we aren’t the lost cause generation

so when you’ve lost all hope
and you just can’t seem to cope
when you’re on your own
and you feel alone
just know this
the desparation you feel
it’s the real deal
cause Christ can use your desperation
and turn it into a new hope, for a new generation

these days it’s not easy to find
a certian kind
a desperation
for my generation

Rain

Sound of the raindrops, rap, rap rapping gently on my window…whisper your silent
melodies… nudge, nudge, nudging at my heartstrings…rhythmically beating to your
cadences…thump, thump thumping in my chest…to your sweet beckoning…hum, hum,
humming in my ears…your subtle invitation… tug, tug tugging at my gaze…steadily locking it
with yours…shush, shush shushing my lips…gracefully swaying to your symphonies…my
glimpse of you slowly fades…prod, prod prodding me back to reality… my brief glance at
heaven slowly vanishes…going, going gone…along with the rain

Words

words
fall from my lips
words
set sail like ships
words
that make peace
words
that wage war

my words
cannot compare to yours
my words
simply echo yours

your words
are like chicken soup for my soul
your words
come in and nourish leaving me whole

Song

a song for you
just a word or two

I love you

Snow

little frozen pieces of heaven fall
subtle, silent, and soft
these miniature time capsules
take me back, way back
to a time, to a night much like this one
when you came, like the winter snow

a little piece of the heavenly father
pure, precious, priceless
you came to the earth below
as a babe, helpless, you came

as these tiny fragments of ice settle
bare, breathtaking, beauty
captivate my thoughts tonight
as i reminisce, of all the possibilities
of all the ways you could have came
you chose, chose to come like the winter snow

Love

a beautiful blessing
that a disaster could be desired
by a love so deep
unfathomable
That's where my freedom is found
in that love
that disaster being me
found in the love of Christ
which breaks all chains of
fear
doubt
guilt
pride
sin
this beauty diving that I call mine
called me his before the beginning of time

Speak

If theses hands could speak
of everything they've grasped
Every opportunity in and out of reach
If every line and crease had a voice
they would tell tales of wisdom
that would never cease

If these feet could cry out
of every path they've taken
some smooth, and others snare-laden
if heel could bare witness to toe
the journey taken
each step would not be forsaken

Sunset

Brilliant orange hues danced fervently, igniting all in sight; the horizon was ablaze. As
a sapphire tide gently began to gently beckon for the crimson fire to subside; dying
embers bid the day goodnight.

Read Me

I'm a book without end
my cover is simple
yet it doesn't do justice
to the content of the pages
don't skip to the back cover
a mere glimpse to my personality
but with that you're already acquainted
