Like a Rock

Like a rock
loved and adored
Touched
Watched
Imagined
Sculpted
Carved into the most majestic sculpture
A presence sought after
Solid and strong
The perfect figure
The perfect rock
Like a rock
solid and strong
Firm
The weight of the world
Like a rock
Crushed into a million pieces
Broken
Nothing but dust
Kicked into the curb
Blown into the wind
Into the world
Into what seems like nowhere
Like a rock
Solid and strong
Cold like stone
Broken and crushed
Turned into dust and blown away
Into nowhere
Obliterated
Scattered into a million pieces
Into nothing
Like a rock
Poof
Nothing

Awaiting a World Reset

My world can be so exciting
grand, luxurious and full of adventure

My world can be so confusing
small, confined and so inertia

The open space, sea breeze and horizon ahead
floating away free

Amazed and yet so confused
in what so often feels like captivity

There are stars that guide me through the seas
and show me what floats ahead

It excites me and it drives me
but sometimes it leaves me full of dread

My home is so far away
worry there is not, for home is always there for me

Calm these waves that divert my ship
so long it has been since I was free

End this storm that threatens my passage
that stops my adventure the world holds in store

There is still so much exploring to be had
calm will return and I will be once again touch the shore

I love my world I really do
so full of grandeur and so much diversity

But I miss my home which is so close I can see it, feel it, remember it, but for now nothing but a mere memory

These rules restrict me, I know they must lift
I miss my friends and family

Give me safe passage and open the world
in any direction so I can flee

I love my world
though it has been too long since I have felt the warm embrace of someones true affection

Provide me the ability to explore once more
I am so desperate I will now go in almost any direction

I love my world I really do
but let me be free so I may roam

Open the skies
Let the stars shine bright and take me home

Someone hit reset already!

Burdened

Heavy

A mass weighs on me
Heavy clouds seeking to be free
Thick and grey the eye can not see

Flash

Rocketing streaks of electricity
Pounding bolts in a crazy spree
Uncontrollable sparks shoot from me

Fallen

Sunken low it won’t release
Smothered suffocated it cannot see
Drowned below seeking to be free

Reach

Shooting from a cloud below
High in the sky like freak show
Extended hands pushed back in row

Breath

Drops of fallen water
Tears of release that bit lighter
Dark and gloomy a little brighter

Release

Just let it go
Stop the show
Be free and grow

Take a Chill Pill

Innocence so pure and free
Like children playing so happily
Holding hands signing cheerfully
Smiles so big the world can see
The happy kids we began the same

Time passes by and it all disappears
The blink of an eye darkness appears
Pure joys turned to now sudden fears
Out of control like changeable gears
The victimised adult now the majority

That infantile purity suddenly misplaced
A haze of confusion and anger are faced
Where has the joy gone in all this haste
Such bitterness one’s mouth can taste
The confused and lost we all seek for more

Like a pill of thrilling ecstasy consumed
If only this easy the world could assume
Once pure and joyous innocence to resume
Too high or enlightened to continually feud
The time to remember we are all just humans

As easy as a chill pill we all could simply take
To forget the years bitterness that built our hate
Return that pure innocence locked behind our own gate
Restoring humanity in all and seal us a good fate
The way we could all be simply happy and free

A Lonely Pony

A pony stands alone in a field
Amongst the green pastures and sweet yellow Dandilions
Surrounded by strong and mighty Stallions
For the pony will not yield
The pony is so small and different
Desired to be seen in stature and not merely alone and crying
In sufference
The field is georgoues and the flowers so sweet one can taste them
The pony stops its sying
His head held high and adored by the Stallions
The herd join together in the field and together they enjoy the Dandylions.

A Forever Recovering Addict

The door opens.
And a shadow looms.
That’s the one!
A hand is given.

Paper, metal, plastic.
It’s all the same.
Its all as grand as the other.
Desperation does not discriminate.
Nor greed, nor desire, nor hunger.
All is welcome!

A bright light leads the way.
I look ahead.
Below the shield lay not poison, but medicine.
It tastes terrible.
But I take it.
The light goes out and darkness looms.

This medicine is harsh!
It tastes terrible.
It is hard to take.
But I take it.
For it supports me.
It gives me power, strength and ability.
The ability to both survive and strive.

As I consume each dose, it hits me.
The hard blow consumes me.
I lay down bare, still and let it absorb me.
It runs through my body, inside my body.

But this medicine is not good.
For the moment it gives me what I need.
In the long term, the side effects are too much to bear.
I must quit.
But how?

By now the addiction ravishes me.
It both heals me and destroys me.
That’s it, cold turkey.
I quit.
In the shower I crawl.
To drown my misery and wash away my sins.
It is the longest shower of my life!
No matter how hard I scrub,
No matter how much soap I use,
No matter how clean and shiny I look.
And no matter how fresh and rosey I smell,
I look in the mirror and remember the addiction I once had.

But I was right.
I did not need that medicine.
That medicine made it easy and quicker for me to treat myself.
But I was right.
I did not need that medicine.
For without it, it was in deed slower.
But I was was strong.

Paper, metal, plastic.
It’s all the same.
It might not be as grand,
But….
Paper, metal, plastic.
The basic elements are still there.

The mirror shows my reflection.
The addict I once was.
No matter how much it helped me,
Without it I am strong and healthy.
I feel strong.
I feel healthy.
I survived.

Contrasting Elements

Sensitive souls meet feisty spirits
Fluffiness of fresh fallen snow
Heat of harsh fiery flames

Natural elements of colliding forces
Possibilities of complementaries
Actualisation of a pair too dire

Contrasts complimenting one assumes
Reality melts the other
Hot fire against chilled snow

Disaster overwhelms surrounding viewers
Liquified tears drown fiery words
A hot puddle is this mess

A Quiet Place

I feel so empty and isolated
Confined to my chambers
I find solitude and sanctuary
Absorbed and glued to my phone
Because I feel at best when alone

Surrounded day and night
Outcast from societies norm
Thankfully few do I actually like
Out there they are all in sight
In the darkness and the light

Not a moments peace can I find
For they constantly surround me
To my face they appear as friends
Behind my back they are rarely kind
Though in work we do will usually bind

Why do I do this to myself
Why do I choose to live this life
So much growth within my sole
Enlightened to body, mind and world
Constantly feeling as though I just hurled

Secrets

I want to tell you.
I want to tell the world.
If only I could get this terrible weight out of my head, off my shoulders.
Away!

It is so heavy.
Only I endure this terrible burden.
Something few will understand.
The wrong world.
I am in the wrong world.
Or have I been lost in the wrong world and stumbled my way into the correct world?
But who is to say which world is correct.
For in the wrong world there are many.

We all endure this weight.
But here it is not heavy, it is light.
Here we fly free.
I fly free, weightless!
One can not fly forever.
Tired.
Flying so high, so intensely, amongst the flock.
I must flap away continually to keep up and form the perfect V!
So tired, I plummet to the ground.

I wish I could tell you.
I want to, I really do!
For releasing this heavy load will free my shoulders and see me stand tall.
Proud.
Confident.

Judgement.
Judgments is all around.
Like a shark cirling its prey, alone in the deep.
The prey dared to be free, to be wild, to see the big, open, deep blue sea.
And for that, it swims alone.
Alone in the deep blue sea.

If I could, I would.
I promise you that!
I want to.
I really do.
But as prey alone in the deep blue sea, I can not.
For the moment I do.
SNAP!
Just like that, I am exposed.
And quickly obliterated!

So tired and weighted, I swim in the deep blue sea.
As alone as I might feel, alone I am not.
Circling is my stalker.
And beyond.
More like me.
Prey.
Victims.
Sharks.
Judgement.

Release this burden from my shoulder,.
Or, if not, provide me the strength to swim and survive!
To ignore the threat of danger, and enjoy the deep blue sea.

I want to tell you.
I really do.
I am sorry.
Some secrets must be kept!

Light Vs Dark

Behind the light, there is darkness.
Behind the darkness, there is light.
Controversial light.
Forever interchangeable depth.

A shield protects and blocks out the other.
Forbidding one from exposing the other.

High and almighty I raise my shield.
Protect and hide.
For without it,
With only one strong and mighty blow,
A crack shall appear and expose such controversy.
Light into darkness.
Darkness into light.
Forever exposed and changed.
