I feel so empty and isolated
Confined to my chambers
I find solitude and sanctuary
Absorbed and glued to my phone
Because I feel at best when alone

Surrounded day and night
Outcast from societies norm
Thankfully few do I actually like
Out there they are all in sight
In the darkness and the light

Not a moments peace can I find
For they constantly surround me
To my face they appear as friends
Behind my back they are rarely kind
Though in work we do will usually bind

Why do I do this to myself
Why do I choose to live this life
So much growth within my sole
Enlightened to body, mind and world
Constantly feeling as though I just hurled
I feel so empty and isolated Confined to my chambers I find solitude and sanctuary Absorbed and glued to my phone Because I feel at best when alone Surrounded day and night Outcast from societies norm Thankfully few do I actually like Out there they are all in sight In the darkness and the light Not a moments peace can I find For they constantly surround me To my face they appear as friends Behind my back they are rarely kind Though in work we do will usually bind Why do I do this to myself Why do I choose to live this life So much growth within my sole Enlightened to body, mind and world Constantly feeling as though I just hurled

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
