The Angry Sea

THE ANGRY SEA

The eye of the storm is lurking at sea
Is it Gustav or Hanna waiting to be?

The angry waves ravage the coast
The people must leave
Without any hope.

The stronger the storm
The darker the night.
When all hope seems dim
Its time to take flight.

When all hope seems lost
When our dreams seem to falter
Lest we forget to
Turn to the alter.

Our Lord and our God
To you do we plead,
We love you our Father
It’s you that we need.

Don’t let us forget
 to thank you dear Lord
You don’t send the storm
It’s of one accord.

We pray the sun will rise again,
The storm will pass
We’ll see our friend.
The ocean will calm
The sky will be blue
We love you dear Lord
We’ll always be true.

My Kentucky Home

MY KENTUCKY HOME
I sit in these Kentucky mountains,
High upon a hill.
The birds are singing
In the trees,
Is that a whip poor will?

The people in these hills show love
Like none you’ve ever known.

That’s why dear Lord I’m proud to say
Kentucky is my home.

Just Pray

Is that your voice
I hear dear Lord?
Are you calling out to me?
All the blessings that I have
I promise not to hoard.

A still small voice
In the middle of the night.
It’s louder now,
I still have a choice.

I can turn to you
And look above
Wrap my arms
In heavenly love.

When doubts and fears
Seem to assail
I’m listening Lord
I shall not fail.

Hold on my child
Don’t let go.
I’ll never leave you,
I’m not your foe.

The darkness comes
Before too long,
The light will be here
Just be strong.

Have faith in me
My child I swear,
Just come to me
I answer prayer.

Don'T Be Afraid My Child

DON’T BE AFRAID MY CHILD

The birds are waiting in the trees
The sun behind the clouds,
The bushes out in front of us
Are swaying in the breeze.

The rain is gone now,
Don’t shield your face from me
Don’t be afraid my friend
Look up and you will see

The Lord above holds you safe
In the palm of His own hand
Don’t cry my child
We’re in the glory land.

The storm clouds now have gone away
The rain has disappeared
I thank you Lord for you always knew
The plan you had for me.
You’ve kept me close when I was afraid
You loved me everyday.
I’m safe within your arms again
Don’t let me ever stray.

The Prince of Peace

THE PRINCE OF PEACE
I sit in early morning
Waiting for your voice
The birds are singing the trees
I really have no choice,

But to thank you for this beauty
That surrounds me everyday
The trees and birds and flowers
I don’t know what to say.

You are the Prince of Peace
The one who sees me through
You calm the angry storm
When I don’t know what to do.

In my autumn years, Lord
I’m learning everyday
To listen for your voice
To let you lead the way.

You are my Prince of Peace
The calm I feel within
You touch my heart with grace
And tell me not to sin.

I look to you for guidance
I read your Book each day
I hear your voice inside me
Leading all the way.

I praise your name
And thank you
For all the love you gave
You sent the Prince of Peace
Hoping He would save.

Coming Home

COMING HOME

The sun cast a shadow
across the floor.
Its day break you see
and I’m alive once more.
When at night
I fall asleep
The moon and the stars do seem to creep.
I hear the crickets and the night
Sounds are near
It’s dark,
I’m alone
But what do I fear?
I’m on my knees again
You see
I thank you dear Lord
For loving me.
You gave me the sun
The stars and the moon,
You love me dear Lord
I’m coming home soon.

Thank You Lord

THANK YOU LORD

Wake up my child
Come and see
The beauty all around.
The mountains and the tree tops high
The birds are echoing in the trees.
The butterfly touches the flower
Pollinating every hour.

The bees are buzzing all around
The birds not a sound do make,
I fear dear Lord there may be,
Another storm at stake?

But everywhere that I do look
I see your hand above,
The flowers and the trees are still
The morning dew, there is a chill.

I sit and gaze at these blessed hills
And the glory all around
Knowing dear Lord you made it all
From the heavens to the ground.

Now the birds do chirp and sing
They’re crying out to me
Come my child they seem to say
The locust chatter too
It’s a brand new day that the Lord has made
Let us rejoice and sing to you.

On My Knees Again

ON MY KNEES AGAIN

I thank you Lord for giving me
A chance to thank you on my knee

When at night I do forget
I wake and know I will regret
To thank you for this very day
I pray you hear me when I say

I thank you Lord for everything.
I have to thank you for the bad
But Lord I know you’ll always be
Beside me always loving me.

You are the light within my soul
I’ll shout it from the highest knoll.

When things don’t go the way I plan,
I wait for you Lord, yes I can.

At night I need to let it be
Don’t take it back Lord
You shall see.
That when I give it back to you
I need to wait and let it be,
You’ll answer ever prayer I say
But always when it’s Your own way.

The Darkness Looms

THE DARKNESS LOOMS

Another night the darkness looms
Another day, a rose that blooms.
When hope seems lost to you and me
The glory fades I hope you’ll see.
I look to you above oh Lord
I pray to you for one accord.
When morning comes, I know at last
You were the one who held on fast.
I beg you Lord on bended knee,
I know you always hear my plea.
When I forget to seek your face
When I forget You’re in the race,
Help me Lord to seek you first,
Help me Lord to quench my thirst.
I trust you Lord I know you’re there,
In the darkness sometimes I stare.
I come to you oh Lord I plead
Loving you Lord, I’ll let you lead.

Gentle Rain

GENTLE RAIN
I long to hear the gentle rain
as it drizzles down the window pane

The sun is under cloud today
the birds are hiding too.
the trees are swaying in the breeze
I thank you Lord on my knees.

I gaze at all the clouds above
I watch them passing by,
The rain continues into night
There’s no reprieve in sight.

The lightning strikes are closer now
It illuminates the night
I feel a shiver up my spine
It causes such a fright.

I know that when the morn does come
The rain will all be gone.
There’s hope again when we at last
see the morning sun.
