This Sacred Place of Once You and Me

bella_robichaud2000@yahoo.com

This Sacred Place of Once You and Me

Grayed moss hangs, tired oak trees dance elegantly in breeze
Colored leaves rustle above, gravels crunch under my tread
Birds sing melodies; a rabbit, a squirrel engage as I walk
Each sound from nature stirs a memory, scenes a reverie

Sights seen sounds heard, within my heart longing stirs
Stopping briefly I look around, each sense vigilant
Standing still hushed breath, woods grow silent as in death

Step one until three; I see the place where I met thee
Beautiful stream flowing free, I held you, you held me
My love dreams come true back at the spot where I met you
Seems I will hold you once again, the stream still clear

The bench where we sat, still here but dear something
Is amiss; you are not here to share in this
Joy, love, need so much, comfort of your loving touch

I feel stirring in the air, I look but you are not there
Just a gentle summer breeze bringing back memories

I thought here my heart could mend, this pain never to end
Till the time I come to you, hold you as, once I could do
I vow to return year after year, fully knowing I cannot yet
Hold you close my dearest one till my life’s journey is met

I Told You Last Night

I told you last night
The words I said were cold
I told you I didn’t love you
Won’t be with you when you’re old

I won’t be there when your first is born
It won’t be mine; I know you’re torn

I won’t be there when you fall in love
It won’t be with me...this is so tough
I won’t be there when you get home
I’ll be somewhere else...hope you’re not alone

I won’t be there when you decide what to do
I won’t make your decision now it’s all up to you

I won’t be there to help you with what you need
You’ll figure it out you won’t need me
You won’t be there when I cry
Because I won’t tell you....I will just lie

You won’t be there when I need a kiss
Because I am changing from Mrs. to Miss

You won’t be there if my heart breaks again
I’ll just have to tell a friend
You won’t be there when I rise or fall
Because you can’t reach me can’t even call

Yet it breaks me...I feel relieved....let you go I can finally be me
