I love the way

I love the way

I love the way your gentle blue eyes shine

As your lovely face, it tells me you are mine

No words could tell, the love I have for you

It shines through me, so pure and sweet and true.

My years with you, have been the best I’ve known

Through all these years my love has grown and grown

I know, at times I’m hard to understand

Yet how I melt beneath our love so grand.

Until the end of time we two be one

Our love so vast it could outshine the sun

Together we two drown within such bliss

I’d die without your love, be sure of this.

Nothing could ever stem my love for you

It fills the Earth, the seas, the sky so blue

Forever and a day, this love in me

Will join us two together endlessly.

Helpless

I feel helpless I dont know where to start,
you are one of my four beating hearts,
the second beauty I brought into this world,
I can only watch from a distance,
from the barrier you set to others,
I feel the need to wonder because I feel helpless,
its fear that sets my weakness for you ,
a fear that has hit like a tidal wave I feel helpless,
you seem so alone and I dont know why,

I watch you ....emoitionless and I just want to cry I feel helpless,
it's a world of mental illness I could never understand,
it's a weakness always judged even at my own hand,
But now I see you suffer harder and harder days,
with no way of hepling I feel helpless,

My second born daughter so beautiful and strong,
for all you go through and your days still go on,
you wake day by day and you hold ur hands high,
to the reason you stay in this world,

I can only be glad you think of me that way because I feel helpless.

Zindagi

Shikayat Toh Sabhi Karte hai
Par shikayat karoge Kab Tak

Haqeeqat Ki Talaash To Sabko Hai
Par Haqeeqat Talaashoge Kab Tak

Jo Bhi Hai
Yehi Zindagi Hai Bas

Jilo Thoda Iseh
Zinda Ho Jab Tak

Patradoot or The Messenger 29 /Many

Patradoot or The Messenger29 /Many

English version by Ravindra K Kapoor
Originally written in Hindi by my
Late father Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor

These young boys and girls, were brought up,
By their parents, with great love and affection,
Now they are mad, in love for their motherland,
To show the splendors of their youthful energy.

They are ready even to sacrifice their heads,
What to say of body pains and tortures inflicted on them,
By seeing such fearlessness and energy of their youth,
Even the enemy gets ashamed of, dear letter.

Triloki was one of these young boys,
Who happily took bullets on his chest, dear letter,
And kept on moving ahead without withdrawing,
Keeping the dignity of our nation and Satyagraha.

DESCRIPTION OF MY CITY ALLAHABAD

You will find my beautiful city Allahabad,*
In an ecstasy and full of rapture, flowing in it’s air,
When you will move on its roads and streets,
Along with the Postman, dear letter.

Ravindra

Kanpur India 12th August 2010 to continue in 30

Clarifications:

* Allahabad Also know as Prayag or Triveni is the most ancient city
of India, where river Ganga and Yamuna now meets at
                                    the holy place called Sangam.

Patradoot in Hindi was originally written by my late father
Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor around 1932, who was a freedom fighter.

He wrote Patradoot in Hindi, when he was kept in Faizabad Jail for quite
a long time. The Epic was written as a gift for my mother and it was
sent to her secretly from Faizabad Jail. He was imprisoned
by the British, as he was fighting for India's freedom
under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. He was imprisoned
many times during 1920 to 1947. After India’s
independence as a true follower of Gandhi Dr. Amar Nath
Kapoor left active politics and devoted rest of his life in
writing easy mass literature and wrote many Dramas,
Poetry books, epics. All his other literary
works were mainly written from 1955 to 1990.
He left this mortal world in 1994.

Ehsaash

Dil mein chupa ke rakhunga us ehsaash ko

Lamha-lamha, tanha-tanha sacchi maut jee raha hun
khush hun main dhutkaar ke nakaab-posh zindagi ko

Yeh khaalipan

Jab Meri Bechaini Mit Jayegi
Jab Mere Dilko Sukoon Mil Jayega
Yeh Khaalipan Mit Jayega

Do Pal Ki Chandni Ke Liye
Aj Bhi Zinda Hoon Main
Meri Khaamoshi Ke Ageh Aasmaan Bhi Khatam Ho Jayega

Kehne Ke Liye Toh Roz Marta Hoon Main
Thoda Aur Marne Ke Liye
Yeh Deewana Kal Phir Ayega

Dosti

Kuch saksh hain jo hain bse mere dil me meri rooh me,
Jisne samghaya mughe mai hun alag is bheed me,,
Kar dikhaunga mai kuch aisa unhe viswaas dun,
Jeet lunga sari duniya kyunki ab mai khas hun,,

Kal kisi ne mughse pucha tu koun hai ye to bata,
aankhon me aansu liye bs itna hi mai kah saka,,
Pahle mai bhi dhoondhta tha bheed me khud ko kanhi,
Dil me armano ki joti haath me kuch nahi,,

Wo dost hain jo ban gaye mere liye ek toota tara,
maine maangi dosti wo kah gaye ab tu hamara,,
Chhod kr apni hakikant unko khud me yun basalun,
Unka rang chad jaye mugh pr baki sare rang bhula dun,,

Meeting of Minds

A dance to hidden music
with a handsome fellow
who seems to sense my mood
he holds me close as we whirl

Then leading me to scented gardens
he points out the heavenly stars
telling me stories of each one
how they came to be in Dream Time

He romances me with his wondrous stories
telling of mystic places far, far away
all the time holding my hand tenderly
we stroll through the scented gardens

A feeling of peace and paradise fill me
so close I feel to him, love in my soul
this tender meeting of two separate minds
takes me far away to Nirvana in his arms

Aaj kal

Khaalipan mein guftgu tumse khayaali sawaal-jawaab ban gayi hai
Tu naa waaqif hai kitne armaan behek kar benaqaab ban gayi hai
Tassavur mein tujhe mahsoos karne ki lazzat behisaab ban gayi hai

Tumhara aana, palbhar me laut jaana takleef-dey guroor ban gayi hai
Tumhe rokna, yoon manaana har mulaakat ki dastoor ban gayi hai
Roz intezaar karne ki zidd, meri naadaaniyon ki kasoor ban gayi hai
Teri bewafaai bhi sar aankhon par rakhne ko dil majboor ban gayi hai

Tum

Aatish-e-junoon ki chingaari ho, beqaraar dil ka sukoon bhi
Androoni sard ki thandak ho, barf ko pighlaati maum bhi

Shab ki adhoori khwaab ho, sehar ka mukammal sapna bhi
Khayaali ek khooobsurat uljhan ho, suljhi hui haseen jawaab bhi

Likhna panda to sikh chukka barso pahle
Baatein karna kab sikh paunga

Riste-naaton se bhi badh kar mana us bachpan ki kitab ko
Main duniyadari ki baatein kya sikh paunga

Sachi kitaabein, sache iraade to paala barso se
Zamaane ke sath kaise chal paunga

Aye nazm tu kah de zamaane se
Mujhe gumnaam maut manjoor hai

Par Badalna meri fitrat nahi,
Aur mujhe samajhne ki zamane ki haysiyat nahi

Gol Gappa In Hindi Version

khud ko ek gol-gappa samajh raha hoon yaaron,
haha! kya karun aaj insaan banne mein maza nahi hai.
niche maal road par use gol-gappe khate dekha,
bas tabse gol-gappon ka deewana ho chuka hoon.
do pal usne taanka bhi, to darr sa laga,
usi thele par, pata nahi plate wohi thi ya nahi.
khaate-khaate aankhon se paani aa gaya,
par uska ehsaas mujhe aur khaane par majbur kar raha tha.
jab aankhon mein itna paani bhaar gaya ki uske saare khwab beh gaye.
tab maine gol-gappon par rok lagayi.
saala baadme pata chala kal college ke liye toh paise bache hi nahi.
koi baat nahi dost kab aayeinge,
saalon ko khilaaya bhi toh hai,
toh khane ka bhi haq rakhta hoon.
kal unki band bajaoounga.
aaj yaaron lagta hai firse neend nahi aayegi,
mahina bhar tanhai me jeena padega,
kaise khaoonga main.........jalebi shayyyyyyyy! hatt yaar!##
agar mithe mein kuch pasand hai toh bas khusboo.
wo bhi jab woh khud mere kareeb aati hai tab.
ek ajeeb si mehek hai yaaron usme.
nahin yaar! har ladki perfume ya deo nahi lagati.
bas wohi uski khusboo aur kuch mitha pasand nahi hai,
chahe wo cheez cadbury dairy milk hi ho.
khair aap log pak gaye hoge, so jaao. subh raatri.
waise mujhe toh neend nahi aanewali hai,
haan yaar! kahaan uske yeh sapne chain se sone denge?
khair aap so lijiye.

Teri Bewafayi

Teri bewafayi ka yeh sabab zaroori tha,
Mar jata agar, toh tujhe teri khata yaad na rahti

Kah toh main bhi sakta tha zamaane se gunaahgaar kaon,
Par yun mujhe aaj dekh tu sharminda na hoti

Meri muskuraahaton mein jo dard chupi hai, tu jaanti hai,
Tu hi kahti thi, mere aasuon mein wo baat na thi

Raah-e-mohabbat

Ibadat bhi karke dekh lia
Bahut ki talaash bhi
Aage khuda mil hi jata
Bus aaj nahi koi mohabbat ki raah hi...

Kahte hai sab " main bhi mohabbat ki thi"
apne labsoo mein hi ateet bataate mohabbat
kaise maan lu, kaise yakin karun
Hai mohabbat zinda aaj bhi...

Parivartan

Sagar mein aaye toofan ki tarah
Sab kuchh palat kar rakh dena chaahta hoon main
Par afsos, hava ke bulbule ki tarah
Kulbula kar reh jaata hoon main.

Jab jab zulm hote dekhta hoon
Hriday mein ek hook si uthti hai
Khoon khaulta hai, mera
kyon dobara sard hone ke liye.

Prakriti ki vishaalta ko dekh
Dil ke ghaav aur bhi hare ho jaate hain
Bandhan mein hote hue bhi
kitni swatantrata hai, sahajta hai, har rishtey mein.

haar gaya hoon, ghut gaya hoon
sansaarik rishton se
kaash! Main bhi mukt ho paata
inki jakdan se.

nadi ke veg ko jab chattaan rokti hai
sar patak patak ke, lahoo luhaan ho jaata hai, bhi paani…
uski tadpan aur siskan ko
shushk nigahoon se taak kar reh jaata hoon main

aashaa hi jeewan hai, chaahe swapnil si
vo parivartan, jo sab kuchh badlega, ya phir tahas nahas hoga
oos bhoonchaal ko banne mein, shayad bahut samay lagega
jwarbhaata bhi, sadiyon tak sulagta rehta hai.

Tumse Milne Se Pahle,,,,, Sochi Thi

raha,
us chourahe ki ye baat kahne ko thi,
tumse milne se pahle!
Tujhe dekhne ki chah,
karti thi mazboor, karne ko bunk college ki meri
pahli class!
Batani thi ye baat bhi,
tumse milne se pahle!
Batani thi tumhe, tumhe dekhne k bahane,
cycle ki dukan par baitha karta tha,
teri cycle ki hawa maine hi nikali thi,
tumse milne se pahle!
Tumhari balcony k peechhe,
tha chhota sa room dost ka,
group study to bahana tha,
par marks achhe aa gaye,
tumse milne se pahle!
(and finally)
"WO SAARI BAAT TUMNE KAH DI,
JO KAHNA CHAHTA THA MAI TUMSE,
TUMSE MILNE SE PAHLE........SOCHI THI"

Alive

I traveled the world
And though it is vast
I still need a truth
That would always last

Studied some books
And know my mind too
The whole time God knows
Only love will do

Studied Religion and
Forever I found
Even God loves Love
On this I expound

My Mom in my life
Always there for me
Taught me that true love
Would there always be

Love doesn't judge man
And I'm very free
From color or type
Of good company

True love doesn't die
"Oh Love, you'll abound,"
Despite all the bad
You'll stand your ground

Love's the Law for me
We are always free
Love keeps me alive
This is Love's decree.

Incineration of Love God Madan Cupid 30

Incineration of Love God Madan Cupid 30
Originally written in Hindi by my late father Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor
1899 to 1994. The work was written in Hindi somewhere around 1965-70.

Editing and English version by Ravindra K Kapoor.

Hindi Title ‘Madan Dahan’ 30

The sin does not die O’ Lord,
By killing the sinners of society,
Sinfulness will continue to live,
In multifarious ways and colors.

Why not, hate sin O Lord,
Instead of hating the sinner,
Wisdom has taught us all,
This simple lesson, O dear Lord.

The body of my most dear husband,
Will soon be consumed by flames,
And my widowhood would then appear,
How then your boon would prove true.

THE CRAFT CAN CAPTURE IT

Oh well I got an angry email to begin my day
Because of my last post on the Jabidah thing yesterday
Galit sa akin but greeted me with Assalamu alaykum.
They know I don't criticize Moro leaders
I always leave that to them to criticize their leaders
According to my friends baka nasa gubyerno or something
Next time I'll write na lang about the sea and the palm trees and the beaches

Pray and pray nalang para walang provocation
Alam mo ‘buti na lang you verbalized that kasi iniisip ko rin ‘yun
I know you have reasons and you know better kaya; I just read your posts
I don’t have to go against parties kasi both have rights
And the issue must be solved

Minsan you are being asked or expected to take sides
Yes, my side is peace – with peace is independence
Yes, I heard that sa dating Jabidah Massacre celebration
Somebody said that, “Walang kapayapaan kasi walang kalayaan”
And that is very universal, kapatid.

Moro or non-Moro and writing should always geared towards humanity
That’s why for me it “anti-humanity” if you will not listen
Or suppress when somebody will talk about freedom.
That’s the problem with Filipinos, they don't listen.
Kasi the leaders may sarili ring interests.

How do you see being Filipino?
Ako, it's a cage, Filipino nationalism
Agenda ng mga oligarchs and landowners
Filipino nationalism is violence against Muslims and lumads
Kasi ‘pag ako ang tatanunginmo I will never say I am Filipino
Because Tausug it’s not a name but an identity...
I understand but kaunti na lang kayo

Ako sasabihin ko na I am a Filipino but I have reservations
When I was a teenager hindi ako tumatayo ‘pag Lupang Hinirang
Yes and identity should be critically assessed and examined.
Kaya if they say Filipino ang mga Tausug masakit sa aking loob
But not all, kapatid. try mo pumunta sa Manila

‘Will give Filipinos a disservice
Because it is tantamount to be an accomplice to a corrupt system
And this system is the one that oppresses Muslims
At alam natin ang Tausug di lamang taga-Sulu
Pati Bisayan, Tausug din

As much as possible I am trying to make my writings 'away'
Away from Filipino nationalism
That's the right way for me and my writing
I will ask first, “How it is to be human?”
At super last na ang, “How to be a Filipino”
And the Bangsamoro struggle is the greatest critique to the violence

And perspectives walang kompromiso and peace talks

I do not compromise my language, my craft and myself, my writing
Filipino is an imagined nation, as well as Bangsamoro
Bakit di natin magamit ang orignal nation natin
Na based sa Sulu archipelago and Mindanao
Yes, actually diyan ako papunta - papunta

Bakit hindi i-Bangsamoro-ized ang buong Filipinas?
It doesn’t mean na i-convert ang Pilipinas
But the spirit, the struggle it should mean something to Filipinos
It should kasi ang dami na nagbuwis ng buhay
Kaya ko pa na tanggapin kung Maharlika

‘Yan ang gusto kong ma-achieve: Filipinos should listen to Moros
Siyempre marami pang madidiscover along the way
Indeed.
Tausug is Moro and Moro for me is something that predates 'Filipino'
But now, I would like to know the concept of “Lupah Sug”
I want to know it, I think there are more and beyond Moro on it

Before ‘Moro’ was named to Mindanao and Sulu people
It was first name to Aceh people, Melaka, Brunei and then Manila
Sulu and Mindanao were the last places to have been called the name ‘Moro’
Sulu archipelago was united under the name Sulu archipelago
The name of people is Tausug.
Tausug is composed of different ethnics:
Arab, Banjar, Dampuan, Buranun etcetera.
The concept of Sulu as part of dar al islam
Is already a nation and state
Where the government is the people and itself headed by sultan or raja

Yes, and I would like to feel this from the ordinary Tausugs when I get there
I would like to experience this from ordinary Tausug and on from place itself.
In the hinterland of Jolo, their laws still on the ground not of Philippine law

I believe in narratives
I want to hear and feel this from the place and from the people.
And then capture it; I have these thoughts
That Lupah Sug has something that the Moro concept does not have
And it’s a bit metaphysical but sige lang.

I know my craft can capture it.
I think there is a language that can capture it
And specific craft that can carry its soul
Not fictionalize but put it in a form like a novel or a narrative
Which have their own logic and truths as crafts.

This poem is made after the conversation and sharing with Filipino writer Rogelio Braga who also serves as the editor of the poem. He is currently in Mindanao, travelling and writing; he will then proceed to Sulu Archipelago soon. 2:28PM, 19 March 2013, Facebook Chat across Sulu Sea!

No One Can Hear Me

I awake, not sure whether I am alive... or dead
I wait, for the smell of the hearth... and baking bread
But, what greets me is the smell of the privy next to my bed
I am like a ghost.. no one remembers what my last words were
I listen for the clucking of hens
I listen for my goat in her pen
I listen for my little brother, my kin
I do not hear them
I yell, For my mother
For my father
For my sister
But no one can hear me,
Not even the gods

Hindi Title ‘Madan Dahan’ 28

How the destruction would ever be,
Compensated by construction,
And how the loss of entire creation,
Would be restored to its origin.

Sensuously generated consciousness,
Is keeping everyone, active,
Keeping it it's mighty womb,
The unique power of Almighty.

Under the umbrella of attachment,
Love and delusion flourish, O Lord,
They acts in the life of man,
As the God's protector of manliness.
