Where my True Love Lives - A Ballade

Seared upon my soul for ever more
That break of dawn upon a summer morn
As I made my way along that rocky shore
Strewn with remnants from a ragging storm
When through a rising mist of gray - so forlorn
I saw a badly broken sinking ship
With canvas wings of white so sadly torn
There beneath those majestic purple cliffs

And as that mighty fearless ocean roared
With salty breezy breath so filled with scorn
I saw it rise up from the ocean floor
Wrapped in a velvet coat so frayed and worn
A red, red, rose impaled upon a thorn
Where passion bled like rain from ruby lips
Upon a vivid memory reborn
There beneath those majestic purple cliffs

The wind - it whispered - in my ear - Lenore
As black clouds in the sky began to form
Into a face I’d never seen before
With hollow cheeks that endless tears adorned
That fell in frozen crystal drops so foreign.....
Then from those clouds his face began to slip
And I cried the tears of a woman scorned
There beneath those majestic purple cliffs

Lenore, the love he would forever mourn
That from his pen on page in words did drip
As I read his poetry and love was born
There beneath those majestic purple cliffs.

DREAMER'S SECRETS

Virgin piece of paper
You lay in front of me
Bare, a sleeping beauty
Mesmerized by what I see

In that moment, captivated
Drawn into your light
I'll cover you with passion
Long into the night
You'll give this dreamer's secrets.. sight

I gently touch your canvas
Let lover's feelings flow
You give every indication
That tonight you'll let it go

And I am filled with wonder
Of all that we could be
Amazed that you weren't taken
Lost in this serendipity
When this night is over
Oh forever, it'll be you and me

Penned flame, yeah all I got
Two now one, love's knot
Feel the stroke, inks heat
Making music, love's beat

And what we birth in secret
Tomorrow will be so clear
Spread across your sheet
Love's expression without fear

So remember every moment
How I mused over you
Together we created
A masterpiece to view
You've made this dreamer's secrets.. true

Penned flame, yeah all I got
Two now one, love's knot
Feel the stroke, inks heat
Making music, love's beat

Penned flame, yeah all I got
Two now one, love's knot
Feel the stroke, inks heat
Making music, love's beat

All Things Beautiful

Walking alone past the reeds blowing lace,
Stroking the oak by the old wooden gate,
Guided by trust to my lovers embrace,
Pouring my heart into leaves as they bate
Wind into dancing as feet hesitate,
Just long enough to find rhythm, I trace
Patterns in air as the pollen creates -
Fair is the face of the Lords given grace...

Sky paints a picture for moon in dark space,
Vast driven oceans of life demonstrate
Love for the mountainous deserts displaced,
Each born anew, by the wind to its fate -
Seamless infinity’s natural state,
Is seeing your eyes on another’s kind face
And Finding forgiveness for those who breed hate,
Fair is the face of the Lords given grace

Out in the sun as light seeks out its place,
Faith comes to breathe as it encapsulates
Bodies of men where his truth is encased,
Dreamers whose dreams become true and innate,
Their journey is hard but rewarding and great
Where love can be found but cannot be replaced
And words that when written just right captivate,
Fair is the face of the Lords given grace...

Each breath I breathe makes me appreciate
How beautiful life is, how rich and how chaste -
Nature’s perfection is light incarnate,
Fair is the face of the Lords given grace...

Don't Let Go

If you take my hand and don't let go
There's a side of life I want to show
You've suffered a little, that I know
But I also know you have a beautiful smile.
You have a loving family, they look your way
A God that knows just what to say
And I, I promise I'll always stay
Even though I'll be gone awhile.

Your past and shadows may haunt you
I have reason to think they still do
You say it's hopeless, I say it's not true
You just need to remember where to trod.
You know from experience where light will dwell
And when things just are not going well
Bruised and broken after you fell
Rise to your knees and pray to God.

Through thick and thin He'll help you through
When you don't know just what to do
I want the light to follow you
So others may know where to go.
And every day you don't win the fight
When things just are not going right
You have learned to follow the light
And I've watched as you've begun to glow.

If you take my hand and don't let go
There are places of light that I know
We'll go and stay, rise high from so low
With our Father's help, we'll find our way
He loves you so much, and that is why
You learn in struggles; and when you cry
Remember it's strength that lifts you high
From the shadows of yesterday.

As night draws near

As night draws near

Gleaming in the silence
And the brightness of the sun
The trees beside the river
Are dancing, every one
Upon this cooling evening breeze
I’m lost in all of this
As river does reflect the all
My heart is filled with bliss.

Ravens flying overhead
They fill the silent air
With throaty caws, of loneliness
Their songs fills everywhere
With the breath of evening mystery
To herald the dusk in
As day does fade to darkness
The evening song begins.

I’m lost within the sweetness of
The dusks sweet, silent song
I think that it be in this darkness
That my soul does belong.

Bird songs come, then fade away
To be lost within the stillness
As darkness comes to fill the air
With the sweetness of it’s breath
In the depths of sweet serenity
The spirits come to play
And all the nymphs and fairy folk
Do dance the night away

Oh, what a feeling in me

Oh, what a feeling in me.

Oh, what a feeling in me
To be, on this wonderful day
I’m here on this beautiful morning
I’m alive in a beautiful way
I’m hearing these birds all around me
Just singing a love song for me
It’s a wonderful, beautiful morning
By this river that captivates me.

It be five o clock in the morning
In the joy of this beautiful day
The kookaburra how he be laughing
In such a magnificent way
I think that he knows I am happy
This bird he is laughing for me
Oh, here in this countryside morning
I am filled with such sweet mystery.

The river gets into my being
As I sit here alone in the dawn
It’s wonderful, beautiful feeling
I feel like I’m being reborn
Oh what a sweet combination
All this morning, and nature, and me
I’m in love on this wonderful morning
Just me and this sweet mystery.

Faith's Shield

How can a person be their very best
If test are never laid along the way
Yes let each one seek answers to their quest;
Now please don't rest too long or go astray.
Watch out for those in life who would betray,
With snares that are so very well concealed!
They'll try to make you soon become their prey-
That's when you'll learn  techniques use faith's shield!

Now there's a thing in life I do detest;
It is a lie that keeps the truth at bay.
They'll ever be to me unwelcome guest's
Because they soon can turn bright skies to grey.
The things we do to each in time portrays,
A picture which will show just what we wield.
In troubled times there's fears each must allay;
That's when you'll learn techniques to use faith's shield!

Be sure the things that you may do in jest
Will not be getting others in  a fray.
Now should you need some things  off of your chest,
Please have it done before the end of day.
As it  shall build if it becomes repressed,
For in the end it still becomes revealed.
When problems try to make your life decay-
That's when you'll learn techniques  to use faith's shield.

The evil prince will come to cause unrest.
But as you use the shield of faith he'll yield.
Sometimes you'll feel the night will always stay;
That's when you learn techniques to use faith's shield!

The Distant Flame

A paramount flame enraptures to rule,
unearthing the spicy array of my senses,
the reverie of Spring cautiously subdued,
a syncopated beat, three steps beyond pretentious.
Longing for that vision seen only in glimpses,
beyond the tide of what is still becoming real,
as passion burns its slow decay upon my defenses,
Baby, you make me feel!

I close my eyes to a thousand stars,
on a velvet curtain of the night,
and the Braille pathways of my heart,
submerge discreetly into your river of light.
I become caught and raptured in utter delight,
throwing open the soul of all that is real,
as your image dominates my inner sight,
Baby, you make me feel!

Blowing holes through the canopy of night,
touching your lips, meeting your gaze,
stormy passions toss apprehension aside,
restless abandon ventures beyond the haze.
Violet, in subjection to your silky ways,
smokey, the thoughts that make time stand still,
wistful and fervent this fire flames,
Baby, you make me feel!

As distant, sultry fires tax us,
two single spokes on an ever spinning wheel,
the Earth resumes spinning on it's axis,
but Baby, you make me feel!

Moon and Sun

Although we meet the dying day Our sun ensconced in melting blue The moon’s held high to swing and sway Her light may sprinkle, softest hue No other reason but for you There’s a time when all stars must go When the sky can hold only two And that is when my love will grow. One night, the whitest white will stray Snowflakes sticking to dying rue The sun may flash its final ray But after that, the golden’s through And once again the night is new We’ll let the winters beauty show The fireplace our burning cue And that is when my love will grow. There is a time in early May When flowers bloom and spring is new Then laughter shakes as children play Shrieking with fun that’s over-due Who could cry today, guess a few. . . I’ve felt the sunshine’s warmest glow One day I’ll feel your warmest, too And that is when my love will grow. When sunshine fades, moon glows anew; And when she dips once more, he’ll go And when they’re in the sky, just two- And that is when my love will grow.

I love rain

I love rain

It's a month now into spring
And still the rain pours down
Hey, is it ever going to end
There's many here that frown
They want the sunny weather
That will come soon enought
But right now, I'm enjoying it
Rain, I love the stuff.

Next week we're off on holiday
Now it really does rain there
And I'll love very bit of it
As it soaks up everywhere
To hear it's rhythm on the roof
It makes me feel so grand
Though many think that I am strange
They just don't understand

We don't get much rain in WA
So when it comes, for me
It makes me so excited
I guess it's how i be
So keep that rain a coming down
Let me feel it's soft, wet touch
I don't know what is wrong with me
But I love rain so much.

Karma

Karma

Thousands left their shells behind
As Planet Earth rebelled
Against the ways of human kind
Who in their greed have dwelled
With logic gone they rip asunder
Our lovely planet Earth
Digging holes ten miles deep
And taking all it’s worth.

They blow up bombs beneath our oceans
What foolishness is this???
That human beings have earned some Karma
It cannot be dismissed.
Now the sea has taken all those folk
In its salty cool embrace.
The hand of fate, she looks on down
With vengeance on her face.

She says “Mankind you never learn
So I make your poor lives tough
Then you might treat Earth with respect
For me, I’ve had enough”
So, many die in agony
For the weight of mankind’s sins
As our Planet, cracked and torn asunder
Sends out its mighty din.

As a man once sang some years ago
When will we ever learn?
When will we learn that when one acts
Then Karma one must earn.
There have been so many warnings
By wise men through the years
So now we reap just what we’ve sown
And swim within our tears.

Being you

Being you

Accept yourself
That’s all that I can say
Let your inner voice tell you
The way to live your day
Do not be hard upon yourself
That never did no good
Just be happy, never worry
It’s foolish that one should.

Love yourself
Cause you’re a ‘one off’ too
No one else can play your part
Nobody can be you
It’s a lovely world we live in
Let it seep into your soul
Then when you feel at one with life
Twill get you feeling whole.

Most people call me crazy
But I love being me
I do not care what others think
I only like to be
To be this way, it is my right
A gift sent down by fate
I’m so I’m happy being me
Each day to me is great.

Walking by the river

Walking by the river.

It was that kind of day
With the Spring Sun soft and warm
There was a kind of energy
That moved within my form
I could have walked the whole day long
As I felt me, natures pull
Oh Lord those river trails are beautiful.

I passed a group of roos
Who were grazing by the river
Some Parrots screeched above my head
And set my heart a quiver
And as those creatures gave their calls
A Kookaburra laughed
Oh how I love to walk that river path.

It was that kind of day
That you’d like to last for years
With the country air rich in my lungs
And my mind all calm and clear
I could have walked until I dropped
Along that river trail
Feeling good and living in the now.

Walking by the ocean

The ocean

I used to live beside the sea
It was not long ago
A footpath went along the beach
One could walk, and watch the show
As the ocean played its song of love
And the seagulls made much din
It was a lovely place to go
As each day, it did begin.

I loved it in the morning times
When the moon was big and round
It seemed to rest upon horizon
Such joy I often found
Admiring me, this yellow orb
That seemed so very huge
And as I’d walk, within my dreams
I’d often take refuge.

Sometimes I'd walk there, evenings too
And watch the sun go down
As the sky would turn to marmalade
And it seemed this Sphere would drown
As the ocean swallowed it all up
And the night came creeping in
And seagulls sang there evening songs
How I loved their noisy din.

There’s something about the mighty ocean
That makes me want to write
The seaweed and the salty breeze
Give me such sweet delight
I love the rivers, love the lakes
And yet the wild, wild sea
It has a treasure of it’s own
That just calls out to me.

Fifteen tiny Swallows

Fifteen tiny swallows

Fifteen tiny swallows
All perched upon a fence
Oh what handsome fellows
But here, let me commence
To speak of all their beauty
These tiny little birds
All black and cream with a reddish throat
Oh how my heart they stirred

A lady walking with her dog
Disturbed these little guys
So from the fence these birds take wing
And head towards the skies
It seems that they are dancing
In the way they fly around
They always seem to fly in circles
And nearly touch the ground.

I walk around these wetlands
And wonder at it all
Everyday it’s something else
And it’s all so beautiful
Ducks and swallows, parrots too
And the beauty of the lake
I love to walk there most of all
At the coming of the daybreak.

Changeling Prince

The air was filled with sparks so bright
as ash and flick'ring fire abound
The night was filled with fairy light
and from deep down the drumming sound.
And all about did wander round
in forms both large and shimmer small
walked spirits old of yesternight
to lend a charm to each and all.

The sky o'er head was filled with light
and night wore the king’s Northern Crown.
The stars fought with the fire flies flight
as shadows marked the unknown.
A royal night when love was sown,
and bardly singing did enthrall
their poetry did rich resounded
to lend a charm to each and all.

Around the fire stood bold knights
and their ladies most well, unknown,
secrecy was their honor-bright
and amongst them stood the Throne.
Changeling bride brought forth to atone
promises too old to recall,
tonight a fairy wife enthroned
to lend a charm to each and all.

Upon their heads set holly crowns
their scepters of ash, I recall.
Cloaks as light as gossamer shone
to lend a charm to each and all.

Men of shame

Men of Shame

There’s a kind of sickness going round
That makes man act cruel.
He lives in a sordid little world
Creating his own rules.
Ruling with an iron fist
Cause power be his thing
Because his minds is very small
Such misery he brings.

His women have no rights at all
For they be mere possessions.
This ugly kind of human being
Has failed he all those lessons
That teach to act with decency
And treat a woman well
This evil man he treads a path
That leads him straight to Hell

His lady shrivels up so all
As he breeds within her fear.
He’ll raise his fist to bully her
Then say he holds her dear.
She doesn’t know just where to turn
She is caught within his trap
As he treats her like the enemy
And makes her life like crap.

Now when I meet a man like this
I look at all his shame
I don’t care about his childhood
It’s only he to blame.
He takes a Goddess, stops her flow
And bends her to his will
This man is such an evil beast
Maybe, he’ll even kill.

Irony Abounds

On an unsinkable ship’s maiden voyage it sinks
The pastor who preaches against alcohol drinks
One’s surrounded by people yet remains all alone
Confessing our sins to another sinner atones
A nation’s chief tax czar who cheats on his taxes
An animal lover hunts deer to relax
Sing praise and kill humans in the name of a God
Destroy enemies for a lasting peace we applaud.

The lifeguard fearing water who remains on dry land
American football is played with the hands
A high school track coach who's morbidly obese
The steakhouse that's owned by a vegan
A priest preaching sermons on love is a pedophile
Repeat charity builds dependence over time
Nations war against drugs while beer they endorse
Adolf Hitler’s grandmother was Jewish.

This lake so beautiful

This Lake so beautiful.

The lake so very beautiful
Paints pictures in my mind
Ducks, Ibis, and Pelicans
And birds of every kind
Mix with the shades of many greens
And the clouds that ride the sky
All these things added together
Make me one happy guy

A Kookaburra in a tree
Gives out his ghostly laugh
Giving a sense of solitude
On the silent morns behalf.
And all around that lake there lies
Islands green and tiny
As morning sun shines on the lake
It looks so sheeny, shiny.

The other shore holds many homes
Their roofs of reddish brown
Appear to me like in a movie
Of a little lakeside town
White egrets wade in the water
Their world all harmony
As two black swans come floating by
With all their mystery.

A flock of seagulls fly above
There whiteness oh, so pure
As the sun shines down on them
I’m filled with such allure
Oh, all the beauty of this lake
Gives to me so much joy
And fills my mind with memories
That nothing could destroy.

Circles

Circles

People living in straight lines
First they live and then they die
Never looking at those circles
As the truth just passes by
Everything goes round and round
Then round, and round, and round again
Yet to folk with eyes closed tightly
All those circles be in vain.

Planets speak of endless circles
As each season comes and goes
Round in circles, always circles
First the morning sun, it glows
It lights the day and then it dies
As it’s swallowed by the sea
Then reborn each early morning
This be the path of destiny

Circles always turning, turning
I have looked and I have found
Circles, they be all around us
In nature things go round, and round
It seems this be a thing worth noting
Watch those circles, they might show
When looked at with a deep awareness
Something that the mystics know

Always put your faith in circles
This be all I have to say
Take a wondrous walk with nature
Learn the truth from day to day
That first you’re here and then you vanish
`Then you’re here then gone again
Let the circles tell their story
When looked at, it be very plain.

A LOVER WITH GENTLE HANDS

Lover, touch her with a gentleness
which maker her quiver with passion;
when whispered words matter,
a delightful thought can enlighten
her sublime smile lost in happiness,
what else will she desires more than love?
Inside the fire is unquenchable,
and the joy is unsurmountable:
when it is started and given
by a lover with gentle hands;
a lover whose trust in her is pure!

In that meadow where wild flowers
are a dazzling red and invite fragile butterflies,
the waving grass of the fragrant hill
turns a solar yellow in extreme heat...
as two lovers weave amazing dreams
by the shade of a willow tree;
and who knows this season better than they?

Lover with gentle hands,
never take those hands away;
keep caressing her, never pretend;
and whenever she asks for another kiss:
be generous and make her delirious...
as the southern wind brings
another fragrance of distant memories
that a forgetful lover leaves behind!

Even this memorable day is coming to its end,
and the kisses intensify as you wish for stars...
chasing away the scarlet sunset with impatient eyes;
and she gladly expresses that intense imotion,
never refusing, ever obedient and silently
she lets every sense be taken by imagination...
only feeling the gentle hands of a lover, who demands
nothing more than faithfulness and generosity!

Expectations

Expectations

There’s one truth that comes through me
For those who’d stop and listen
If you can’t handle misery
And you hate those tears to glisten
Then here’s some really good advice
Don’t have those expectations
Expectation be the thing
That causes war twixt nations.

Expectations are the beast
That sweeps throughout our land
Everyone has many of them
Though they don’t understand
It’s because of expectations
That friendships rip to shreds
It causes many hearts to bleed
And torture in the head.

I’m dropping expectations
It’s pretty hard to do
And yet it’s worth the effort
I know that this be true
Sometimes I might slip a bit
But this don’t mean a thing
Cause it’s all within the trying
That makes the warm heart sing

Treasures of my soul

Treasures of my soul

One day I had an old age moment
My world went kind of crazy
I really wasn’t thinking straight
My mind went kind of hazy
I gave away all worldly goods
And left loved ones behind
Looking for that greener grass
That most do never find.

I spent a year just hanging there
In a nowhere kind of land
What had happened in my mind
I did not understand
But soon my soul was called on back
To the wife I’d left behind
My darling one let me return
She was sweet, and she was kind.

That night I held her in my arms
As her tears just fell, and fell
My heart just bled, my soul screamed out
I knew I loved her well
This lady who would die for me
She cried into my soul
That day my world was born again
My being felt more whole.

Now as I write these words, the tears
Are streaming down my face
And yet these tears come from my soul
These tears are filled with grace
Because that day my lady cried
My life was turned around
I live now just to love that lady
Through this such joy I've found.

A Final Adieu

The light to my life is flickering;
It shone bright for many years.
The fog around me is thickening,
But, please, spare me the tears.
I am fortunate to outlive the fears,
As long as I can lie here next to you
I’ll remember our fondest years -
As I bid you a final adieu.

The curtain falls on my final scene;
Confined to bed these last two years.
Giving plenty of time to reflect on things,
Realizing I have “Thank you’s” left in arrears.
I hope I haven’t underappreciated you, Dear;
I hope deep inside that you always knew
That I respected and loved having you so near -
As I bid you a final adieu.

I believe this is my last evening,
As I go to join my long passed peers.
I hope to be fitted with angel wings
And look down on you from way up there.
And late at night in dreams I’ll appear
To help chase away your blues.
I’ll do my best to keep your skies clear -
As I bid you a final adieu.

So, a little longer hold back the tears,
Until my last breath has finally passed through;
Hold my hand so I know you’re near -
As I bid you a final adieu.
