Your Sleeping Side
If you share a bed, you know
You’ve each staked out a side
And once that’s done, it can’t be changed
(At least, that’s what’s implied).
Your sleep position may be switched
A hundred times a night,
But what won’t budge is if it’s on
The left side or the right.
In hotel rooms, the same applies –
We seek our comfort zone
(A problem that you will not have
If you’re in bed alone).
I know I’d be uncomfortable
(Annoyed, but not bereft)
If ever I were forced to shift
And slumber on the left.
