Your Memory Remains

It’s been many months and seasons have passed Since the day you left. Friends you have loved, Friends who cared for you dearly, Still knock at my door. We sit around reflecting on memories. We laugh and we cry, I hug and try to comfort. We talk of the crazy things you did. We ponder over the trials you experienced. We rejoice over your triumphs. I smile when I listen as they speak Of times each of you shared. You continue to live in their hearts And your spirit continues to inspire them. Your life was a good one. You touched many lives And brought many smiles. The path that was laid before you, Though it was rough and rugged You continued to travel and pressed forward. The battle you fought in life is over now, You are free to rest until that day when the heavens open. Until then, your memory will always live on, Your friends will continue to carry on And they will never forget the love you gave. Loved ones will always remember Who you were and what you shared. As for me, I will love you forever. I will continue to laugh, cry and smile As I ponder to remember.
