Your Dreamless Sleep
By the crest of the moon I watch you sleep.
You're dreaming your desire.
And I'll have memories to keep
got in just under the wire.
Your mouth weaves stories in half-light.
It speaks to me of hope.
Believing everything's alright
is how I learned to cope.
Destiny falls down around
into the waning black.
You speak to me without a sound
and grasp your freedom back.
Now dawn has brought it home to me,
your dreamless sleep of lies.
In wakening truth the blind will see.
Weak is the one first cries.
